they have a chance to be tremendous, I just wish they would have the guts to realize George Wilson is a weak link and make the change. Wilson is a great leader and from what I can tell a good guy but he can neither cover or tackle worth a darn. Yes I hope he makes tons of plays - but reality is he'll kill us

I agree not only a confidence win etc - but a lethal blow to the jets there early schedule is difficult -
2012 playoffs prediction thread

EAST- Buffalo NORTH - Baltimore SOUTH - Houston WEST - Oakland Wildcards- NE and Pitt EAST- Dallas NORTH - G.B. SOUTH- Saints WEST- San Fran Wildcards Philadelphia and Detroit Super Bowl Green Bay over Baltimore Bills win division over pats by tie breaker but New England beat us in round one of playoffs, Houston almost by default although i think they will be descent the rest of the division is a couple years away, AFC West is still throw a dart - a lot of people over rate Denver's defense it's really a product of playing bad offenses last year. Giants miss playoffs, Bears have an awful year, Packers even if the play horrible every week with that schedule they are 11-5 at worst, Saints prove its their players not the coach, San Fran is the NFC version of Houston - that division is terrible gives them a shot for a tremendous record maybe home field etc. Philly up and down but good enough at 9-7 and Lions with 2 on the Vikings and 2 wins versus bears gets them to 10 wins. Green Bay wins superbowl over Baltimore although it's hard to pick Flacco but like Pittsburgh they win on Defense -

My scouting notes on Jets v. Bills
CardinalScotts replied to jonramz's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
very good, I have two thoughts the way NY tries to intimidate and man handle our wide receivers and having replacement refs - will they call anything at all ? secondly the game to me is Fred Jackson and CJ Spiller in the passing game against the Jets LB's -

Rex Ryan deserves much credit

took over a team that went 10-6, 9-7 two of the three previous seasons, pulls a 9-7 11-5 and 8-8 and we want to name a trophy after the guy. He's a good coach, they didnt rebuild the jets they have been primarily a veteran team and that mini run of two playoff seasons might already be over. -
What....No Smack Talk? Bills vs Jets
CardinalScotts replied to Rockinon's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Dick Jauron 5-5 lifetime against the Jets as a head coach Ryan 9-7, 11-5, 8-8 and when he talks people listen like he's lombardi- i dont get it -
Jets working out Derek Haggan
CardinalScotts replied to Tom stahl's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Bills needed the player, signed him and he started. Hagan will neither sign or start and Hagan giving away our secrets ? Like what "running the same offense as last year, Freds good, tight end is big, Stevie Johnson has averaged 80 yards a game versus Revis the last three games" ...okay thanks for coming in we'll be in touch -
Maybin getting a lot of NY hype
CardinalScotts replied to RunTheBall's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
He will run around and find a couple sacks, he's not a good player. Rex talks a good game but all these guys he brings in are going to be the "next great rex ryan player" never happens. -
Is this team significantly better than last year?
CardinalScotts replied to Homer's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
FO= +0…the same...no changes that I remember (but I am getting old) Coaching staff= same as above with the exception of bumping DW from LB coach to DC. Plus addition of quality QB coach, I really like this move and I feel like we've gotten better so I'll give it a +1. agreed QB=the same, same guys with the exception of TJ who no one has seen enough of in a Bills uni. I think this is even +0 although additions to the coaching staff may result in better Jackson alone makes this much better, Jackson has had success in this league +2 RB = +1 better. I believe that the RB position got better in 2 ways. Spiller grew up or improved his running and is staying behind his blockers better. He is also a better blocker which allows for more run differentiation. This isn't the Spiller from the beginning of last year its the confident we ended the year with +2 WR= +0 (even). I struggled with this one, although I don’t think keeping 4 wr’s plus Smith is an issue due to the fact that we have Chandler, Fred X, Spiller and maybe Dickerson who also offer targets. Im looking forward to TJ Graham coming along but at this point we haven’t seen enough of him. This group may be addition by subtraction…I was never that fond of Ruvell Martin.r Just Graham alone is enough, why take 2 or 3 others who have proven they are not NFL caliber +1 Oline= +1. I say this because I feel Cordy Glen is an upgrade over Bell and the overall depth is better, especially with blocking scheme. I feel Cordy has been thrown in the fire and has done relatively well against top DE’s Orackpo in Washington and Jared Allen of Vikes. Much of this depends on Eric Pears and whether Hairston needs to take his place for injury issues. agree Dline +2. I think we’ve made our biggest improvement on the team in this area in a number of ways. First I think switching from a 3-4 to a 4-3 suited our players better allowing us to put both Dareus and K. Williams on the line at the same time and have suitable depth in Johnson and Carrington although many would have wished to keep Heard or Gilbert instead of Carrington. I think in this case they FO kept Carrington for several reasons…1, he was a Bills third round pick and the FO wants this to work out…2, he has played everywhere except DB and may have become a very versatile player adding to depth. Our pass rush is so much better that the differing teams will have to “pick their poison” in who to double team. We’ve gotten a glimpse of this in pre season with Dareus, Williams and Williams all getting sacks without the help of Anderson who has been off the field since the first game maybe a plus three because it takes guys who are ineffective as every snap guys and makes them useful as role players LB= +0. Hopefully some of the young guys will come on and/or the Dline will make the LB,s look better but I don’t see a huge amount of increase nor do I see any fall off from last season0.5 -0.5 Going from a 3-4 to a 4-3 means Spencer and Kelsay aren't play LB that alone is an upgrade DB’s= +1. I think Florence was cut for a reason more than just salary and will not be back…apparently Denver felt the same. I think that when McGee is healthy he is the best corner on the team and always plays his heart out either in pass or run support. I think Gilmore is an important addition and will go a long way to making this team better but may have general rookie mistakes along the way. I feel McKelvin has finally found his spot and has become very valuable on ST. Byrd and Wilson should have a good year but I’m kind of worried about fall off from Wilson who is getting older and I’m starting to wonder about Searcy’s ability to come on not to mention we kept Howell who I understand had a good preseason but still have to think (who?) when ever his name is mentioned. I kind of worry about AJ Williams and feel he may be the weak link which may not matter as much if McGee is healthy. All in all I feel as though the DB’s have gotten better. talent +1, experience -1, with a pass rush +1 = +1 ST= +1. I think Potter adds a lot and will challenge Lindel next season for more than just kick offs. This part of the team seems to be in mid season form and is really looking good in all area Potter give us a little edge against good returners you aren't going to be able to use them Overall I see no negatives, although there are some areas we may not have improved on this year, this was an exciting off season and maybe you can’t do it all. I feel the overall talent on this team is much better and we have finally gotten to the point where when we make cuts other teams may pick them up. Take this with a grain of salt as it is all seen through a Homers eyes. they are better and a week one win and look out, the downside is depth at certain positions but like most teams they lose their starters the backup is not as good -
why take guys just to take them......they played a bunch last year, they aren't NFL caliber

Game 1: Bills versus Jets

Chan is very vanilla during the preseason we had games of 10-10 and 6 on offense last preseason then when it counts they are out of the gate with 41-38-34-20-31-24 in their first six. He does not show anything, help his linemen, use Spiller or Jackson. I hate the Jets and can't stand Sanchez but in his defense they do not have many weapons on offense. The JETS will want to keep it ugly low scoring and pull it out late in the fourth. BUFFALO I think wants a track meet have to get touchdowns not field goals the Jets best hope is fumbles and interceptions without three or four turnovers I think the Jets will be under 14 points Bills in a good win 27-10. but when he's wrong your not suppose to remember, when he is right he can say "see told you so" -
Did Lombardi nail it Re: Fitz and offence
CardinalScotts replied to Nostradumbass's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
yes pathetic D and we focus on the offense which was rated 14th overall and broke 20 points 11 times....how many games did we hold the opponent to 30 or below 7. But lets talk about the offense and Fitz and this and that. The D ? oh they were terrific -
Did the Bills really reach for T.J. Graham?
CardinalScotts replied to Damond Talbot's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
if we are thinking playoffs this year you take TJ, also let's hold off on Russell Wilson until the games count. The hall of fame for preseason is very very very crowded -

terrible, can't or won't block at all, he is available because he is no where near the player he was -
There are times you wish the preseason meant something in terms of what teams are going to look like during the real season. The Jets look like a pile, and I would love every minute of it but preseason doesn't mean a thing - most of us know that, others fall for it every freaking year its quite amazing.
