  1. not at the #9 spot no, we didnt need to really reach for those guys, both those DE's listed, JPP is the definition of 1 yr wonder, and morgan is better suited for the 4-3, no we should not pick a RT what 9 when we need a LT nor does a C, TE, or OG warrant the selection at the 9 spot spiller helps in 3 phases, as a RB, KR and reciever, nobody available at the 9 wouldve provided that kind of ability or versatility. NOW, IF, and its really a moot point because it obviously didnt happen, but IF we had been able to trade down, some of those guys you listed couldve been viable options, but as it stands, nobody was worth that pick except for Spiller. then we got our NT to plug the middle of our new 3-4 defense, and a prototype 3-4 DE we filled 3 need positions in 3 rds
  2. damnit, why didnt we trade the farm for him, we couldve gotten damaged goods, and given him that fat contract, stupid nix
  3. awesome contribution. thanks for the insight
  4. fred jackson, who is about to be 30, needed a MONSTER game against Indy's 2nd string to BARELY REACH 1000 yds, Lynch cannot be trusted at this point all those players you just listed either did not warrant a top 10 selection, were at positions we did not need, or would not have fit our scheme why is it so hard to see that we filled need positions, that had we ignored we wouldve been roasted for even more than we are now. With johnson and hardy stepping in to replace reed and owens, easley was a nice pick, esp with his skill set.
  5. osi umenyiora and strahan played in AWESOME conferences, good logic Troup improved every year in that conference (brandon marshall's conference) Carrington was recruited to the SEC, and the sunbelt is not a poor conference Easley is the only one who should maybe be considered a reach, but at rd 4 he has skill and enough potential to make a good pick.
  6. because Nix and Gailey like what they have so far and havent felt the need to sign an old QB who has never regained the form he once had prior to a horrific knee injury.
  7. It should be obvious that we reached for everybody, why take spiller when Clausen was there for the taking, never mind the fact that he plummeted past us, again, in rd 2. why take a NT so early, everybody knows NT's are easy to find, we shouldve drafted a project RT at our 2 spot and hoped he can play LT. And why take a prototype 3-4 end in rd 3, moorman is getting old and we have NO ONE to groom behind him. Clearly, Nix has not listened to the drafting genius of mel kiper, todd mcshay, john clayton, or any of the other naysayers, other wise we would be on the right track. sheesh
  8. Well, I guess it's time to pack it up and wait for next yr. The almighty Clayton has spoken. Unless you want to take into account that we improved our run defense from last yr and added the biggest playmaker in the draft. with no playmakers and the 30th ranked rush D, we finished 6-10, so naturally, when we address those issues we will finish dead last, good analysis John.
  9. Www.kissingsuzykolber.com Article title "jamarcus russell career in pictures"
  10. Uh yeah, thats would be the breasts, almost as cool as a tackle named legeorge washington...
  11. If you want to look at it that way you are certainly entitled to. I choose to be a tad bit more optimistic about the situation, in case you havent noticed.
  12. No dude that was the title of the article. read the headline
  13. the fact remains that chans offensive mind is light years ahead of what DJ had us running, given that we lost so many games by such small margins, its not absurd to think that we will improve our offense from last yr and grab a few extra W's. also, when the players believe in the plan, believe in what they are doing, that will be reflected on the field
  14. we probably wouldve traded away future picks to move back into the 1st rd to take clausen, traded Lynch for peanuts, and not shored up the NT spot ultimately, we wouldnt have filled as many holes as we did
  15. No problem sir, no problem at all. the truth of the matter is that what we have done so far is improve 3 areas of our team, we have switched defenses and brought in the proper personnel to shore up our 30th ranked run defense, we just grabbed the most explosive playmaker in the draft which undoubtedly will help us on the scoreboard, and we brought in more strength and conditioning coaches to hopefully reduce the injuries, specifically to the oline. those 3 things alone give me alot of hope for the coming season, let alone if we get better production from the QB position thats an added bonus. think about it, with EVERYTHING that went wrong last yr we still won 6 games, improved in major areas and armed with a better gameplan week in and week out, there is no reason we shouldnt be able to improve.
  16. chances are that they will decide b/t the 2 remaining after the starter is named, whomever the coaching staff feels is the best backup will be here, the other will be voted off the island, leaving brown at #3 Keep in mind the quality backup QB is still a commodity in the NFL, the one who fits that role the best is fitz, so my guess is that we will have Brohm/fitz/brown as our 3 qbs leaving trent on the street, but somehow I doubt he will be unemployed for long...
  17. torrell troup has the best chance of making the team, on his heels are evans, levitre, and spiller
  18. Brohm will be best at hitting the deep ball because he will have the most opportunities to throw it since he will be the starting QB
  19. No they will keep him because they like what he brings to the table and they want to develop him, it makes no sense to draft a guy you want to develop, then cut him.
  20. I doubt roscoe makes the team, he just hasnt been able to get on the field consistently and I doubt that will change with Chan & Co. Good Luck in your Future Endeavors roscoe
  21. keep in mind that brohm was probably working with the first team more
  22. why would we wnat ANOTHER douchebag on this team, we already have trent, marshawn, maybin, etc..
  23. byrd finished 2nd, he should get it, but chances are he won't, oh well...
