to date brohm's biggest problem has been confidence, he lost it in GB and didnt know the system well. Now, here in buffalo, he is in a system that he is comfortable with, he has seemingly regained his confidence, and by all accounts is poised to win this starting job. This is a guy that was being touted as a top 10 pick had he come out his Jr. year, it would be an absolute coup and one of the biggest steals of the decade if he gets the job and becomes a solid player.

When brohm turns out to be a legit starter we will be set at qb for the foreseeable future. draft the BPA at a need position -
Some Old 'Gailey' articles to read

he interviewed with arizona and miami when those jobs were open, it was in on of the articles -
very encouraging article IMO, I've been very high on Brohm since we signed him last year, he has the skills to be a legit player, and now with a system that seems to favor his skill set I gotta believe he's going into camp as one of the favorites to win the job. hopefully he comes out guns blazing wins the job and has a solid year for us, it would be a huge surprise and would speak volumes for chan's ability as a coach.

yes, i know they are narcotics, because they are both derivatives of opiates, which is what I said originally. however, leaf was hooked on painkillers, either hydrocodone or percocet, i cant remember which, and russell seems to enjoy the sizzurp, so while they are the same base, they are in fact different drugs.

My GUESS is Spillrt at #2 WR
CarolinaBill replied to GrudginglyPessimistic's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
i plan on picking him up definitely, although earlier cause around here a clemson fan in my league will pick him early just because -

i honestly think spiller will finish up with roughly 1300-1500 yds from scrimmage plus KO/PR yds and 10 or more total TDS, but thats just me. -

chan uses zone blocking in the running game, spiller is a great running back with exceptional recieving abilities, that is how he will be used, he wont be converted to WR, he'll get 10-20 touches as a RB and split out 5-10 plays. Spiller is the most physically gifted runner on this team. Also, remember, at 5-11, he's better suited to RB, not WR, we already have lee evans -

Chris Johnson 5-11 200 lbs Link so I guess he's too small too then right? -

for the last time 5-11 200 lbs is not small, its the same size as thurman thomas and many primary backs in the league today. I have no problems with the rest of the post but this part always irks me. -
"they should've put you in a glass jar on the mantlepiece..." awesome

Nobody Talks About Fitz in this race, why not?
CarolinaBill replied to JustMaxx's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
totally agree about brohm, except the int count, i'd bump that to b/t 10-14, but still 22 tds 12 ints and 3800 yds isnt too shabby -

in a new system they are all at square one, and since that is the case, i'll take Brohm. Strong arm and accurate he should win the job in camp as long as he can grasp the playbook, which I believe he will. Fitz is a good backup, and trent ultimately should be cut, he fits better in a WCO anyway -

Because fitz is a career backup that shouldnt ever be in the running for the starting job -
i am shocked and dismayed, in complete awe of Mr. Vick. in a word....WOW.

ALL the QB's Mechanics look much improved
CarolinaBill replied to Lenigmusx's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
uh, he was drafted in 2008, this is his 3rd yr, he was on GB his rookie yr and came here last yr, after GB tried to match the offer sheet -

yep, me too, he throws the better ball IMO and fits chan's scheme better. -
his small frame? he's the same size as thurman, and many others who are primary backs. I understand you are a pessimist and love to find things to complain about, but at least check the stats and #'s. As a senior, he was the primary back carried it 216 times over 14 games (5.6 ypc). He has proven he can handle the workload. again, find me a team that doesnt utilize a 2 back system. Spiller will ultimately be a good 1st and 2nd down rb, and probably flex out on 3rd downs or when FJ or ML comes in. Either way, he will prove he can be the primary RB for this team.

spiller won't hold out, he'll be in camp on time

5-11 200 lbs, is the same size as thurman thomas for a present day comparison: jamaal charles is 5-11 199 lbs, frank gore is 5-9 217 lbs, chris johnson 5-11 200 lbs, felix jones 6ft 215lbs, knowshon moreno 5-11 210 lbs, jerious norwood 5-11 209 lbs, ray rice 5-8 210. So does that mean all these players cannot be successful bellcow rbs? Stop paying attention to the size, Spiller was the bellcow for clemson last yr and did fine, he was their only playmaker. keeping in mind that almost every team utilizes a 2 back system, there is no good reason to think that eventually, CJ won't become the primary RB in buffalo.
-
elaborate on that, he has the size to play 3 downs, so why wont he ever be primary, if anything, by the end of the year fred will be back to his 3rd down role.

Anything is possible, what we have is a good group of young talented guys, and I believe that chans system will be predicated on misdirection and timing, which will allow our playmakers (spiller, evans, fred, and Easley--the sleeper) to be in adventagous positions. I'm guessing here, but I think the Offense may be similar to the 99 rams with a bit more run game mixed in. If that is the case, it means the Qb has to be willing to trust and lead his the WR's so they can get more YAC. I think Easley is the big sleeper/key here if he can step up as a rookie that will help alot. IDK, like I said, I'm just guessing, but I have very high hopes for us to drastically improve this year.
