  1. I am assuming there will be a rookie wage scale next yr.
  2. looking at the QBs for next yr, I dont consider Locker or Luck. All indications are that Luck will return to stanford, and Locker, IMO, has way too much leverage having already signed a MLB contract. IMO, locker is most likely to "elway" the bills if we were to draft him. With that said, Mallett is basically a bledsoe clone, and if you thought clausen was cocky, you wont like Mallett. I'm looking at Ponder, the kid from texas A&M, Nathan Enderel from Idaho, and Ricki Stanzi from Iowa
  3. they did, which is why they dont need any of our guys.
  4. his durability has never been an issue previously...
  5. you forgot kentwan balmer, DE UNC now with the seahawks after being traded from the 49ers 3 yrs in the league 0 sacks, maybin wil be better than him.
  6. Why is everyone getting so amped up about this guy, he wont play for us even if we draft him. He has baseball, and i'm willing to bet that just like Elway, Locker will not play for a team he doesn't like. Besides that, I don't think he's very good to begin with, and yes, I have seen some games and all the highlight reels.
  7. I certainly hope brohm goes out there and lights it up thursday, although his history doesnt make that scenario likely, it would be nice for BB to make this a real QB battle come friday.
  8. If there is football next yr, and a rookie wage scale is introduced, what makes anyone here think that Locker won't Elway himself out of buffalo if we were to pick him. The guy is already signed with the Angels. As for Luck, all indications to this point have been that he wont come out either.
  9. well how are these guys ever gonna develop if all they do is work on fundamentals? why aren't they scrimmaging for 4 hrs a day instead, man, chan sucks, we're screwed ***please detect the sarcasm***
  10. not true at all, many a great BBQ sauces are mustard based
  11. you have really turned the corner man, seriously I did not like the maybin pick originally, but since we took him, he has displayed maturity (in words) and I feel like he will be successfull as a situational pass rusher in this new 3-4 defense. If he works out, and thats a big if, Maybin will be yet another example of the mismanagement from the previous regime. He never shoulod've been drafted as a 4-3 end, much like chris ellis, yet we did it anyways. I for one, hope maybin has a great season, along with the rest of the defense
  12. peters being in shape will help, april is the best ST coach in the league, it will be no surprise if phili improves under his tuteledge.
  13. well, GB had an awful line that gave up a ton of sacks last yr, but that didnt stop rodgers from putting up big #'s. Now i'm not saying trent is aaron rodgers, but just cause our oline is apparently sub par at pass blocking doesnt mean we are one dimensional and doomed.
  14. Looks like Maybin will be a situational pass rusher coming off the edge, which is fine, if ya ask me. I think the expectations were a tad high coming out, and esp with Orakpo having the year that he had (granted with much more help). Right Now, aaron is still growing into his NFL body, and learning how to play at this level. If he is going to be a liability on run downs i'd rather have him off the field. Let him rotate in on pass plays and rush the passer, and learn the game throughout the season, he can still contribute, be productive and progress. on Hardy, it looks like he may be in trouble, which is very disappointing because he could be so much better. I for one, Hope he has a place on this team and can be productive in redzone sets at the very least.
  15. That's a deal sir, 2-1 hr long, no contact, indoor, air-conditioned practices each week. Only one word comes to mind.....Championship!!!
  16. I was channeling my inner Allen Iverson for that one. You're right, it is tough to practice, which is why they should limit practice to weds and thursday only from 1-2pm, no contact, they should be totally healthy and well rested by sunday. thats the kind of schedule that builds a winner!!
  17. I heard PK and tim ryan talking about it on air, Movin the Chains is one of my fav shows on NFL radio. Good to hear its worth the coin, i may purchase it as well EDIT: So i decided WTH and ordered it, however, I went to www.patkirwan.com and for $30 I got an autographed book, with companion audio CD and Audio book. So If anyone is interested there's that option as well.
  18. whoa, whoa, whoa there buddy, don't go gettin all looney tunes with those wacky ideas. Hittin during pracitce, thats asking a little too much, i mean, we are talkin bout practice, we ain't talkin about a game, we talkin about practice, man....
  19. sounds like things are coming together to some extent. As i have learned from trent in the past, i will restrain my excitement until he shows it during a real game, but for now, its a positive sign that maybe he will break out and prove to be a good QB for us. Thanks for the info
  20. shhhh, thats supposed to be a secret
  21. ok i'll give it a go yeah, aside from the obvious UDFA's and scrubs, thats the main group cut list
  22. No, winning would be an added bonus, but as we all should know, preseason is about showing improvement or ability, esp the first game, winning is secondary.
  23. i heard part of it, they mentioned how the defense was actually pretty good looking at the numbers, and that if chan can manage to squeeze 1 more td/game out of this team then we will be right in the thick of things in the AFC. Of course they also mentioned how awful the qbs were and how we need oline and a pass rush, especially without schobel
  24. they also wanted him to transfer out of clemson to a school closer to home (FSU i think), and wanted him to leave school early for the pros to get the $$. They havent always had his best interests in mind
