B/c UF was not a good environment for him, and he could play at D2 as opposed to riding the bench another yr.

the supposed cheating in question happened at Florida only, not Blinn, or Auburn. So at Florida, the same place where he bought a stolen laptop and got made out to be a criminal, he also is being accused of cheating, after the fact, while having a heisman caliber season at a rival SEC school....hmmmmmmm. Miss. St, the school he spurned to attend Auburn, has an 80's era QB who's is not any relation buisness wise to newton, accusing his father of making the $$ demands. Its being made out to be more than it is. Consider this though, if Cam hadnt left florida , imagine where they would be right now. You dont think some of this is sour grapes by Meyer? or Miss St?

did I not say anyone interested should do alot of HW? pretty sure I did. Im not worried about his commitment to the game though, which was the case for Vick. thats exactly what he did, he got the charge at UF, so there was that, and tebow came back, combine the 2 and he didnt want to be there anymore. there may be more to the story, but for now those are the FACTS. And its worked out well for him.

ok, just to be clear, 1: none of the allegations against newton have been proven. 2: aside from the laptop incident, Tebow returning for his Sr. year was the driving force for newton leaving florida. As you may or may not know, no athlete can transfer from a D-1 school and play for another D-1 school the following yr. So for Newton, being able to play at Juco, and get more game experience was more advantageous than sitting out a year. 3: He compares most favorably to Vince young, not mike vick, and has shown so far to be more accurate than both. He has a pro style delivery with very good arm strength. basically Cam is a bigger, more polished passer than VY, with equivalent mobility. does he need work, Absolutely should anyone interested do ALOT of HW on the kid? Absolutely but nobody can deny his talent, and he's been a winner everywhere. Def. worth a look IMO

i said rarely didnt I? check the stats on top rd dlineman the last 5-10 yrs, the #'s dont lie. usually you wont see eyepopping production in yr 1/2. Right now, as expected, Suh is the exception, not the norm

1st yr dlineman rarely make a significant impact, esp, highly drafted dlineman.

simple specific exercises can help bolster arm strength. In fitzs case he probably just beefed up his workouts a bit and focused on those areas to help him gain a little velocity.

Again, the pros that most closely compare to newton are Randall Cunningham and vince young. As for your comparison, jamarcus russell was anything but mobile. Russell and Newton are completely different QBs, except both are black. The 2 Qbs he's compared to, have had a fair amount of success, so to say right now that he has no chance is close minded to say the least, and at worst, racially motivated ignorance. In short, your comparison is stupid, try harder next time.

that would be obvious if newton were built like Russel, a big lumbering fatass, but he's not, he's a fleet of foot running/dual threat QB just like Cunningham/Young, as I said before. Keeping in mind that Mallett is a big lumbering SEC QB only white, it sounded like the assumption was based on race. Lets not forget that that "mistake" was buying a laptop that turned out to be stolen. Not exactly a Giant wrongdoing IMO, he had no idea it was stolen, no big deal.

If Carolina takes Mallett, then we take the big fella, and wait for Nate Enderle in the 2nd/3rd.
