  1. having a love for food doesnt mean he has low or questionable character. Care to elaborate? Whats is so appealing about floyd? He has the same speed questions as jeffrey, except he also has 2 DUI's.
  2. Bring in Lefevour!!!!!!
  3. Its gonna be Ingram, and with a little luck, hopefully Jeffrey in the second rd.
  4. I llike Meachem, however, if we are committed to Fitz for the foreseeable future, then we probably shouldnt worry about a deep threat, but instead a crossing route wr, or guy that can split the seams. Fitz 33% downfield comp % doesnt instill much confidence for a deep threat to thrive here IMO. U.less its a guy that can really win alot of jump ball situations and has great body control.
  5. Count me in on that one, only way to make it better would be to snag Alshon Jeffrey in a trade down scenario
  6. However, by drafting 43 guys originally, the switch back shouldn't be nearly as difficult. For Kelsey, kw, troup, cArrington, and even dareus, this move allows them to get back to what they do better than in the 34. really, the only guys we drafted high and asked to switch were Troup and Carrington, now they are back in their "comfort zone". It's not like we blew 2 drafts on all 34 players. Imo, the original move away from 43 was more a move away from the Tampa 2 cover scheme that was all the rage prior to the 34 coming back into style. Defensively, this move better fits our personnel that we currently have.
  7. I think the move back to 4-3 is admitting a mistake. But at least we didn't invest another draft in 3-4 guys. Now granted, nix's 1st draft had mostly 43 guys that were asked to change positions. That's why I like this switch, I think we would be hard pressed to find anyone to argue against a healthy kW and dareus anchoring the middle. Unfortunately it does leave some decent players out in the cold, guys like d. Edwards, merriman, heard, and possibly moats/batten. I am excited to see what the front four of Carrington-kw-dareus-kelsay(maybe super Mario/Campbell) can do. If you haven't figured it out by now, I'm trying to stay positive about all this, and if we can add some skill players that come in and Immediately contribute we may surprise some ppl. Of course staying healthy is most important.
  8. I for one like the switch, we have the front line solidified with rotational backups, and barnett, shep, and dont count out batten/moats. Do we have some holes to fill, yeah of course, but atleast now guys like troup and carrington will be back to their native positions. This is esp great for carrington, Im sure hes thrilled. As far as FA and thet draft goes, Id make a big push for williams or C Campbell to replace kelsay opposite carrington, maybe look for some lbs. Draft wise, its a great time to go talent, talent talent, and trade back if the offer is right. No need to get crazy about filling certain positions in rd 1-3
  9. The game itself is not nearly as important as the first 3 days of practice, so don't put too much stock in the actual game
  10. The Big East isn't a horrible conference, it does have alot of smaller schools, but if you look at the bowls, the big east teams usually do well against supposedly superior competition.
  11. James harrison and dumervill are short too, along with freeney, its about speed and explosion, using hands and getting free, Ingram does those things very well, and as I said previously, he has the scheme versatility to play 34 & 43, which is great for us because that means hes potentially a 3 down player and not just a specialist, plus hes valuable on fg/point block and ST. Not to mention, 19 sacks the past 2 yrs.
  12. I'll admit to having a homerish view here, but IMO Ingram should be the pick, love his hustle and playmaking ability
  13. Melvin Ingram, the DE/OLB from USC would be a great pick IMO, he's got the versatility we look for.
  14. Has anyone considered Calais Campbell from Arizona, I think hes available.
  15. Who is "famous for being famous"
  16. im sorry astro, but that SIM is frankly ridiculous, there's ABSOLUTELY NO WAY ingram and jeffrey slip to rd 2, weeden in rd 1 is absurd, and landry jones isnt even coming out. Thats just what jumped out at me.
  17. instead of weeden, maybe you shouldve put Jeffrey in there
  18. The one thing you keep mentioning is James hardy, let me clear this up, Jeffrey is NOT James hardy. Hardy was a basketball player that had zero routes on his routes tree. Hardy was slow and tall, he had a good ur at IU and came out for what became one of, if not the worst wr groups in the last 15 yrs. While Alshon doesn't possess blazing sub 4.3 speed, he is fast enough to get separation, and his superior route running will be a huge asset to him as a pro. Again, I've watched him since he was a true freshman, believe me when I say, he will be great for whoever tales him, which is why I hope my bills pull the trigger if he's available @ #10. In no way am I discounting the talent and accomplishments of black on, I just think AJ would be great for us.
  19. Moats and batten have a place even with the switch, and I def think moats would be asked to put on a few lbs and play DE
  20. The thing about AC is that as soon as we drafted him, he was asked to change his game to a run stopping 3-4 end. That wasn't his game coming out, so maybe if he switches back to what "brought him to the dance" he will shine. That's the hope at least.
  21. Had Jeffrey gone to southern Cal instead, my opinion would, most likely would be the same. Jeffrey has been saddled with VERY POOR QB play his entire career @USC, yet still produced. I take nothing away from blackmon, he played with a better qb in a pass heavy offense, and he also produced big. To me, the size is the biggest difference between the two, Jeffrey is a big 6-4, 230 but maintains enough speed to separate and explosion to climb the ladder for jump balls.
  22. IMO, kelsay and AC would be the ends with dareus, williams inside. Troupe, Edwards, Johnson, and heard would all be rotational guys
  23. First, Jeffrey wasn't fighting, he pushed the DB who was swinging on him away. Second, he still left with 4 catches for 148 yes and a TD, plus he won the game MVP
  24. Gamecocks not known for high academic standards? Excuse me, since when, according to whom. We do have a highly acclaimed international business program after all. Also, football is football, and alshon learned Spurriers offense just fine. I highly doubt he'll have an issue learning chans.
