Yea I think the same ones saying we solved OL likely celebrated saffold, ford, etc… we took swings, and they were fine swings but I think on a practical level it’s going to be hard to say we solidly filled the holes. A bit like trying to call a coin toss, we might get 2 in a row, but probably miss on filling one of the holes. Whether that’s the inconsistent vet or the possible falling knife we tried catching that seems like a round peg in our square system… at some point you hit with guys on volume plays but we definitely didn’t go get set it and forget it obvious answers

yes, I short handed snap count against man coverage to just snap count, but also made a reference to actual snap count - but none of the points materially change. his SCAMC was such a small volume and in such a minimal role that as stand alone data this is near meaningless to project from. that he, on a team with WR2 playing poorly while hurt, WR3 on IR, WR4 in the absolute doghouse only got 30% of the snaps is indicative of being about as limited as coaches could possibly make him. Including having a guy come in off the streets at about 80 years old, and known to cause drama, to be used to keep his count down. whether the coaches mismanaged him can be a topic of discussion but his snap count indicated they didn’t trust him, and his SCAMC data showing he got open does not have enough volume to dispute that meaningfully

Why did Isaiah McKenzie fail as starting Slot WR?
NoSaint replied to JohnNord's topic in The Stadium Wall
we didn’t have depth to baby the guy once crowder was hurt and Davis was limping around. Someone needs to step up and he’s not that guy. Which means he doesn’t fit a Super Bowl roster well… -
it’s such a small sample… getting separation 2 out of 4 snaps a game as a WR4/WR5 is borderline meaningless in trying to project. For all we know the snap count issue is him getting open by not being where he is supposed to be when he is supposed to be there. still hoping for the best, just don’t think this is super valuable data either way but at such a small volume it could be him out of position or off schedule. The defender could be funneling him into hard to reach territory that he should avoid on a few of those, etc… for the guys with major reps it’s actually interesting though.

And doesn’t mean he’s a flop… but he’s not a fit for a contender, right? You can’t have a guy single-handedly lose a game when you are fighting for a #1 seed and a ring. for the colts he might steal a win or two. Unlikely he’s a plus guy in Buffalo though. -

you got the answers quickly and accurately. You just don’t like them. he’s not situationally aware or particularly well focused. dude probably has a touch of ADHD and got by in life with a mix of natural gifts, humor and excuses -
I suspect it will be similar in value but structures may make an apples to apples comparison tricky. Salary vs incentives, duration, voidable years to spread hits, etc… I suspect Hopkins plays on a 2 year deal in the ballpark with salary and likely incentives but may see a 3-4 year contract term to make it achievable to get under the cap this late. for instance, 4 year 70m 15m signing, low base salary 10m option bonus to force the decision early 2m salary, 3m incentives for being active and minimally productive Big option bonus and high salaries in year 3 to force the end of the deal after year two but makes him look more valuable than obj for bragging rights. Ends up 2 for 31 with like 7.5m of that cap hit being dead money in years 3-4

after a full year off and how the last two years ended… not sure a 65 year old defensive minded retread will get interviews beyond convenience of not being employed but able to satisfy requirements for teams wanting to race a candidate through the process. As he’s seemingly a solid dude, I hope that’s not the case as it feels like the worst path forward but think that is likely where he stands with the league come early January

Hopkins released by Arizona (7/16: signed by Titans)
NoSaint replied to HappyDays's topic in The Stadium Wall
it’s the classic conversation about needing both depth and superstars you need the guy that on the biggest stages in the biggest moments are going to snag the ball miraculously. Also if diggs rolls an ankle, we aren’t totally without and stuck crowdsourcing and relying on scheme to create all the production. long story short- we need a second weapon. Not dhop specific but I’m not sure there’s another true option between now and week one -
Nyheim Hines gets it, better than the coaches, better than the GM.
NoSaint replied to Chaos's topic in The Stadium Wall
It’s weird that his teammate would say essentially “I have to play better to help him” and the leans coaches and GM would say “we have to build better around him and make sure he makes safer choices” -

And probably not near enough space to fully lose whatever gains he may have had and only half a season to make it through. -

that it’ll potentially be his first year off enhancers would be the biggest concern on the list. -

it’s simple math that we now are taking real qb cap hits so we have less other money to spend on talent. we will have to do more with less, which is possible but certainly more difficult by its very nature. -
no one in their right mind thought the day before news broke that there was any chance he wouldn’t make it. They had a 2 man battle, cut the other guy 2 weeks before the season, and weren’t bringing in anyone else for auditions even. You can quibble over the date rosters lock to the regular season 53, but he was selected to be the punter of the bills when they cut haack
-
for all intents and purposes he made the team
-
our cincy bills fan has realized they look better with the lights off. And maybe after a few drinks. some of the players fit the same criteria

we also played against the dolphins 5th string qb and in a blizzard. While opposing teams still moved the ball, that context my help contribute to his jump. -
Im going with no race in May without much in the way of team activities or learning of the playbook for a punter
-
there’s a terribly narrow needle to thread, and I think a true press team would use third parties to play up “punter fully cleared of false accusations” to create some subconscious familiarity with the story line without him throwing his face all over interviews. “didn’t that kicker we signed have that thing?!? What was the accusation? I don’t recall the details but I know I heard it was made up” becomes just the right level of hazy water under the bridge

he was a jerk in college. You’ve created a fake narrative about him previously being humble. His attitude was just better hidden. -
does that keep you academically eligible for sports though? seems you’d have tons of athletes doing this
