  1. well, that’s the thing with comparing this years full strength and full of optimism roster with last years already depleted and beat up one. Of course it looks better to say Hyde is healthy but Hyde was healthy last off-season too, right? Someone, and likely someone decent will be hurt at some point. Our WR depth got marginally better harty/sherfield vs mckenzie/crowder but we still have a question mark at WR2 kincaid could be an answer but TE tends to have some ramp up associated. I expect him better than TE2 last year but not penciling in a pro bowl either. MLB is drastically worse. Does that hamper assignments around it? Can Milano roam less, do the safeties get sucked in more (and take more hits), do the lineman have to be more cautious? miller is a huge wildcard - does he come back seamless or is it more like tre did? Is Torrance a fit in our scheme? Hard to think the line slips either way but lots of guys bust and we think of them at their best in august. I do think the teams slightly better, as long as Miller comes back as strong as he was pre injury but I suspect that gaps much smaller than threads like this portray and if Miller struggles that’ll be a big concern.
  2. yea, it’s a little worrisome that we are walking in hoping the WR2 makes a break through, someone steps into a WR3 role and a rookie tight end doesn’t play like a rookie tight end are we better than last year? Sure. The problem is we weren’t good enough at the top of the chart and our biggest hole was a second weapon…. unfortunately most of what we added aspires to be a third option. We are still missing an assertive answer to who is target two. Knocking everyone down a peg on the depth chart wouldve done wonders for their ability to fully fill their expected roles instead of collaboratively trying to reduce gaps between each others skill sets. If you are a vet that makes the week 1 roster your salary is guaranteed. If you are signed after, it is not.
  3. this actually might be your ex wife, eh?!?
  4. It’s by salary he signs for, so likely a 3-4 as long as we lose more qualifying guys than we sign
  5. it literally said it was from a team source
  6. Sure, but expected is a loaded word. We can hope for anything, and our expectations don’t have to be based on any foundation Im hoping he’s healthy and steps up but until he shows the big jump we are just hoping.
  7. it could be years and who declares it resolved? Should the bills hold his rights today and through his civil trial?
  8. the hope has to be health he moved like a cruise ship last year. Hopefully he gets a little more nimble. to be fair, there’s a hell of a lot more guys that don’t dramatically improve after 3 seasons usually you are in the ballpark of who they are, unless they simply were stuck behind someone for reps
  9. he’s caught deep balls but is he a field stretcher? He’s not a particularly fast guy.
  10. Yea, this is way too early to catch o line insight
  11. I didn’t begin to imply he’s a flyer but at $5m per year he’s not paid as a WR2 either. He’s a relatively cheap and explosive question mark that could make some impact plays. He’s not a WR2. you’re digging the hole deeper with comments like this
  12. the whole problem is that outside of like 5 guys, most are relatively replaceable it’s a common skill set and body type and backs 10 through 64 don’t change quality tooooo drastically as long as they fit your scheme.
  13. throwing in the Isabella signing makes him look particularly oblivious to reality
  14. honestly with a healthy Davis and healthy Josh I would find it hard to believe his targets drop in a substantial way this year
  15. hate this take for a variety of reasons. terrible return on the asset in your suggestion the fact that you think harty flashing in non contact is meaningful just bad all around
  16. imagine the kicking advantage we are buying with a new stadium A little side eye to this, as obviously the team was getting the board to engage fans now that the stadium experience is sagging with the team underperforming. That said, May as well make the most of it and get in visiting kickers heads
  17. Yea- I think he’s burning through goodwill more quickly than expected with moves like that. having Brady likely got him used to being able to do a lot of unconventional things that you can’t get away with when you have a bad qb. the huge one is the wins record
  18. he was on a jet ski though. and common sense says that if your contract gives this freedom to the team you stay away from them. Even if you are personally safe, something can happen to you easily. It’s not worth the risk, unless you are incredibly over the top passionate about it.
  19. and would’ve been in the Super Bowl (again) if not for that PI no call vs the rams… yea, not a swipe i would take but I think a little extra color makes the soap opera we all watch more lively.
  20. Weak joke…
  21. he and breece are an elite 1-2 potentially but I think we all feel like an opponent paying a top tier money and drafting a guy very high is not optimizing their resources
  22. he fits in that you need like 10 guys to run routes in the first team, second team plus a few of those guys playing special teams reps. he’s a warm body to functionally run a full practice, and anything more is free money
  23. he’s a “we need to have 90 of them, and doesn’t hurt to have a fast guy learn the playbook in case the injury bug hits” signing. nothing wrong with that. But nothing to really celebrate either.
  24. though plenty of others struggled. our perspectives a bit warped by how well our guys have beat him. It’s not the norm though.
  25. can always carry over to next year. Flexibility is good for them either way.
