  1. agreed. And it’s hard to put your finger on it to make a message board argument but generally agree that a lot is not crisp, and the system is not sharp and we often have a goofy play call like the OT draw at big times…. And that’s not to say it’s a dumpster fire but…. I wonder often what we’d look like with true offensive leadership in the building. Daboll was better but having an offensive head coach, and an OC who’s sharp would be welcome.
  2. Davis particularly runs soft routes, doesn’t fight for the ball and when plays break down he tends to be not the most qb friendly guy. I really thought in addition to the ankle there was maybe some core injury. He just moved like a cruise ship sometimes last year… but he’s still just not a crisp mover No one said that either though. Needing and wanting are different.
  3. fair. Though I’ll lobby back… is Dorsey in the 3rd quarter calling plays and perhaps on tilt himself the same energy as Dorsey on the sideline with him 2 years ago? Is Joe Brady filling those shoes on the sideline?
  4. he also threw 80 fewer passes in 2022 than 2021…. So an uptick in trouble passes while a drop in overall passes thrown
  5. the worry is he’s not a speed guy or a jumper… so the one trick is not even something he’s particularly skilled at. he seems like a good guy and hard worker and I hoped he’d show up big when healthy but…. That was a bad night.
  6. But seriously - if you were on tilt… is THAT the guy you’re wanting to get you right?
  7. you can’t call the runs if he acts like he did in the first quarter. If he sneaks out of bounds for the first, and gets down on third and a mile… I think the game flow might’ve been very different (more runs planned and improv, instead of heaving a few of those… and possibky more comfortable on the fumble)
  8. diggs has consistently been back and forth between incredibly image conscious and kind of a jerk. It is one of the struggles this board has with trying to put him in a box. He’s a charming, engaging and thoughtful guy that can quickly be arrogant and a first class ass at times.
  9. and on a practical level a QB is the only player that stays on a team 15 years; so you need some level of slow evolution and not drastic shifts once you find the sweet spot A defensive turns over essentially everyone multiple times in that window so having a few different coordinators on that side meshes the flow so much better.
  10. perhaps why your HC needs to be your OC in general
  11. it was better here with less of this. it’s just so disconnected from the real world.
  12. Let Zach Wilson move the ball 80-90 yards three times to win the game would’ve been fine with me - play the field position game. Knock in a few fgs and call it a day- right? don’t need the heavy artillery when they are already on their death bed. Let them go naturally instead of blowing yourself up playing with dynamite to finish it flashy
  13. It felt like he thought he had to outpace Rodgers against a bills defense with question marks unfortunately he did not adjust the mindset when the game changed drastically
  14. Speaking of WR…. im surprised we didn’t see more of harty through the game with his horizontal speed and ability to turn upfield. I thought we’d see a lot more of those 4-5 yat passes to stay on schedule with opportunities to turn into chunks,
  15. that’s a bit much
  16. but that doesn’t even have to mean hyped up energy. Like Josh needed to get balanced and swap out of dueling Rodgers into grinding out Wilson. 14 points wins last night if there are no turnovers in their own end. That’s much different than trying to get to 30 against an elite team because Rodgers might blow up your defense. Josh was still chasing 30 with some manic energy after Rodgers went out. Someone needed to remind him it’s a game where you get the first and go out of bounds. You fall on the botched snap. So on and so forth. Someone needed to rewire his approach pretty early.
  17. It’s true. He was a symptom, not the illness on that play
  18. it’s good perspective and also why I’ve echoed it was a handful of plays and we are still a contender… that said, they have to figure out this piece with overcoming adversity against the best if they intend to win 3 playoff games and a Super Bowl ever
  19. yea it’s just weird in its consistency but also doesn’t seem to be any story that the announcers push. fitzy mentioned it in the manningcast right before diggs went up to him very late in the game
  20. for sure. And I agree that we don’t know a ton on that front but it does seem at the biggest moments he’s very isolated as a consistent theme. I really don’t know. Something is off with the overall energy of both the offense as a whole, and our qb though. At least it feels that way. And it was easy to blame blizzards and damar and laundry list of other things last year… but those aren’t a thing anymore, and maybe those weren’t the true issue last year.
  21. the challenge is the easy years are already gone. Now we are in the grind of always a contender but some rookie qb has extra weapons all around him.
  22. I’d be very curious to learn about that support system with McD calling plays now, and Dorsey upstairs. what’s the infrastructure around Josh on the sideline?
  23. im very curious about the joe Brady-Josh relationship compared to his past with Dorsey under daboll for instance. I think we’ve seen in several moments the man is totally alone and not being prepared when we flash to the sideline during adversity let’s get a clip of Josh heaving a tablet because he’s disgusted by what the coach is showing him, right? Or talking him down cause it’s a night that he doesn’t have to be the star anymore. He played like he was trying to outdo Rodgers in a race to 35 in prime time instead of coasting out a 2 score win vs a hapless qb 17-6
  24. he’s got like 2-3 years of last night before he’s gone let’s come back to reality. He likely waltzes through 10 games like super man this year and is totally unquestioned
