  1. oh, totally. It’s the explosive running back vs the guy that gets 4 yards every touch no matter what. I think shakir does a great job squeezing yards darn near every catch. Feels like even when he goes down for the catch he rolls for 2 yards consistently. but you can’t watch ceedee lamb highlights and think that we have the same guy, even if isolated to with the ball in his hands. Thats not an insult to KS, but just an unreasonable standard to judge him by
  2. debating if he’s top 20% of starting WRs just doesn’t have the same elite ring as top .00001% of guys that catch passes across the various football leagues (flag or tackle)
  3. on another level than 99% really stretched it though. I guess if chalking all 6 WRs for 32 teams and only weighing that single stat he is 2 of 200 literally… but I think you’d be hard pressed to generally sell anyone on the idea that given the top 32 WRs they’d pick him as top 5 with the ball in their hands. he’s pretty darn good with it but also in a very friendly scheme with a qb giving him great touches and as mentioned has solid blocking out there.
  4. yea, you can outsource a lot to coordinators etc… but at some point he’s still going to have the be the dude to be 100% sharp after months of grinding in late December when you have 3 games in 11 days because of Xmas at some point it’s just got to catch up and he will be 74 week 2 of the season to boot… he could be a total anomaly - they exist but at some point you have to think he will just be tired in a different way than Mcvay would be…
  5. I mean, he’s not chase, ceedee, JJ, nabers, ARSB, puka, etc… then you run into guys like deebo as a rare specimen in space. even mcconkey had more broken tackles. You’d clearly put the ball in aj browns hands first given the option. in yards after contact - Nico was great last year with a ton of broken tackles l, though down this. Rashee rice was excellent last year Not even mentioning tyreek here with not being sure what he is today. i think shakir is very talented but “on a different level than 99%” probably over states it a good bit. He’s a solid blue collar guy that does a lot well, doesn’t make many mistakes and has a good attitude. We don’t have to put him in the top 1% of WRs on anything. It’s unfair to him.
  6. some perspective - that’s like 5.5 catches per game. If reliably healthy it’s not particularly huge accumulation for a WR1. I’d bet there’s like 20 guys that were the number 1 target for their team that didn’t miss multiple games and he’d be about middle of the pack at best in that
  7. it’s like when Stevie was wr1 he’s productive but not keeping coordinators up at night. ultimately everybody eats is nice enough but if everybody included a few guys that are better than we currently have then our margin for error would be much larger. I don’t think any of us would be mad if Brian Thomas was at the dinner table.
  8. I’m just saying- if worthy has even the perception of helping the chiefs win… it might be the end of this era of the bills. if we win it’ll be monumental though
  9. they will lose many position coaches and perhaps the whole system depending on who follows him maybe some talent evaluators too
  10. At some point you just have to get it done though. And particularly you can’t be the reason the team didn’t get there by blowing a big moment So far so good this year.
  11. I bet there are rumblings just as there were with Sean Payton towards the end of his tenure. a ring gives you a ton of credibility but not forever.
  12. yea, I think you have to see a big outlier and then actually look at the games included. 10-0 in major games and consistent calls going their way vs 10-0 because he got 8 softball games that were generally called tight. it’s a flag for investigating further but not definitive yet as it’s a small sample and assignments may not be totally random
  13. If hurts is hobbled, it’ll help a lot. That said, I’d take the commanders first
  14. im sorry but if he has kelce like potential he should be eating more
  15. you do realize the owners buy the rings and can give them to the lunch ladies if they want, right? It’s not the nfl mandating who qualifies.
  16. heck, I don’t mind it but I’d rather spread out their defense and let him choose pass vs finding a crease pre snap.
  17. yea, I chalked that as pay back for a few earlier calls (against Dawkins, and no call on ed o getting hauled down)
  18. Honestly- if questioning coaching… how did the ravens motion Henry out of the backfield on the first two pointer after waltzing down the field 10-15 yards at a time? If nothing else make else sell out on the run I imagine if they ran Henry both 2 pointers it would’ve been a more interesting game but coaches do dumb stuff. See Jameson Williams at qb for the lions and no one calling TO for 12 men on the field for them. Two premiere coordinators. It’s why you kick and make the other team execute.
  19. the worry is we’ve seen other guys come in mid season and get zero packages. Hines for instance. I know a different coordinator but it’s a little curious that we aren’t designing anything for a guy again and he’s getting very limited snaps.
  20. Still very low on special teams and a week without catastrophe won’t change that
  21. but even early in drives in the 3rd quarter? Did he have zero carries and maybe 10 air yards passing in the first 20 minutes after halftime? I’m sure I’m forgetting some plays but generally…. We can’t say Josh is the mvp because he doesn’t have the talent around him and then make the choice to contain him in the backfield and put all the pressure on the other guys to make a play. I’ll buy that in September to preserve health but in January he’s got to be bigger in putting the nail in the coffin instead of bleeding clock with other guys taking the hits for him
  22. maybe spread the ravens out a bit and sneak Josh in there a bit though?
  23. I think you can be a lot more bold in the third quarter and have the same time consumption (maybe more) we went a long time without a pass past maybe 2-3 yards down field or an Allen run. im not saying you have to go run and shoot there but they don’t have the talent around Josh to completely pull him out of the game for most of the second half and if not for a huge fumble we may not have won a game we had a two score lead
  24. feels like every week rapp hurts someone could be an opponent- could be himself or a teammate id be super curious how many games he’s missed time in for blowing up himself
