  1. I certainly wasn’t betting on them in the off-season but when Joey b was hurt, and Rodgers got hurt and kc underachieved and jax hit a wall and… there was nothing stopping them from potentially doing it. They should have won yesterday, and they could have won against Baltimore. I think both the lions and 9ers were tougher matchups though.
  2. right - if we are going for 7 points with a couple quick strikes, let’s do it at 2:30 to go, and then between the 2 min warning and timeouts we can get the ball back to end the game if we don’t score or kc returns serve on the next drive. we could’ve had the 2 minute warning to help us after the missed kick if it was end zone, end zone long kick
  3. It was just so odd - either take your shots fast so you can get the ball back for the last possession or keep grinding the clock. The way we did it made it the worst case scenario. We score and kc has time and the ability to leave us without another touch. If we miss we need a perfect 3 and out to get another shot and zero room for error. Finishing that drive between say 60 to 120 seconds on the clock (bar napkin math there)and without kc burning timeouts is the literal worst case scenario for 0, 3 or 7 points scored
  4. I’ll be honest, I didn’t understand burning time down to 2 mins without even lining up to see if we could get an advantageous look- presumably because our goal was yo have the ball last and then come out of the 2 min warning with two fast shots ensuring that KC would have no worries with time and we would almost certainly be screwed if they scored. it seemed very jumbled philosophically.
  5. to be fair, kc could’ve been on high alert for fakes even if that was the reason for this fake
  6. Yea, I think the current state of the union has a better matchup against the ravens but it wouldn’t be a slam dunk.
  7. why can you go for the fake but not with the offense other than worrying about perception?
  8. certainly couldn’t have gone with araiza- he had no experience shanking kicks in the playoffs
  9. we often have inconsistent philosophy like waiting on the two minute warning to burn clock - to a level that we didn’t even line up the offense…. Followed by end zone shots like was the goal there to give kc as close to 2 full minutes to ensure Buffalo wouldn’t have another real possession if kc scored?
  10. a lot of people are seemingly scared to walk away from a nice enough girl that just doesn’t feel like “the one” because their last couple gfs were abusive or cheated so who knows what’s out there to hurt them
  11. yea, 11 wins then 1-1 in the playoffs ain’t it roll in burrow/bengals issues we already missed the easiest window, and we’re still gifted this year. if it hasn’t happened yet, other than dumb luck, I don’t understand why we think McDermott will make it happen in a more challenging year
  12. Special teams decisions -both personnel and the fake- did not work today
  13. Remind me why we are going with the injured punter? something about experience?
  14. I probably have 50 posts calling for the extra OT on obvious runs instead of guys like Lee smith. Tonight feels good.
  15. most of the folks here are not doctors or brain experts. we have a gentleman that wants to play football and knows it is high risk in a number of ways. I hope that his doctors give him fair and accurate information regarding both his current state, his potential risks and even whether they think it’s a good decision. I also hope once he reaches the established benchmarks he has some say whether or not he’s ready. Most importantly I hope he heals quickly and can make those decisions when he’s ready- which seems to be today. I don’t feel like I should make those choices for him. Frankly if it’s purely medically driven no one should ever be on the field. So now we are left with I hope he heals quickly and I hope he makes choices for his future that are informed and comfortable for he and his loved ones.
  16. not against kc in white. What are you trying to do, sabotage us?
  17. We already switched to Ted. I hope you haven’t left east aurora
  18. "What we now know is concussions happen all the time," Favre said. "You get tackled and your head hits the turf, you see the flashes of light or ringing in your ears, but you're able to play. Based on that, thousands, had to be, because every time my head hit the turf, there was ringing or stars going, flash bulbs, but I was still able to play." now imagine that extrapolated for any in the box hitter on either side, instead of a quarterback…
  19. Or we could all wear red, and really mess with the chiefs when they think their fans took over… until it’s loud when they are on offense. come on, play chess not checkers
  20. I’ll keep saying you are crazy if you think it’s only 5 or that several guys playing last week didn’t get their “bells rung” so either we make football unrecognizable or we set baseline evaluations and hope both for the game and for the player that guys return to baseline that indicates health quickly
  21. you are aware that a good bit of his pregame med test if he’s been a full participant already will be: “now that it’s game time, are you feeling good, rasul?”
  22. it’s tough. they have baseline tests and if he’s not displaying symptoms, not reporting symptoms and his testing has returned to normal…. we can act tough about concussions but truth is all of us turn blind eyes to the fact that every non kicker in the nfl has a numerous unreported/undiagnosed concussions because that’s the game they play and we fund.
  23. id imagine nearly if not every player on the roster does
  24. yup. Unlikely to be a contributor but sometimes when you pick up a lottery ticket it can put a few bucks in your pocket. I’m good with beane picking up a lotto ticket here instead of just a plain old nickel or dime that you know wont make a difference
  25. Yea we would’ve said the same about the jags before a playoff loss last year
