  1. it’s almost like slay knew the read for gabe would be inside there too so the all pro db, romo, Allen and most of the board seem to think Gabe’s route on the safety blitz would be inside, right?
  2. in this case, I use the terminology loosely for ease of typing and communicating concepts. He almost certainly needed to read the blitz and vacated center of the field. It would be surprising if he got that one right
  3. it was legitimately one of the worst officiated games I’ve seen. Not just a bad call or two but systematically awful the whole way. he was trying hard to smooth it out without looking dumb himself but there were just so many blatant bad calls that it was a struggle
  4. those can both be major issues
  5. Why do Brady and the head coach both go for that?
  6. you can fix the defense for 10 years - he doesn’t trust the offense and the offense doesn’t trust him. It’s done.
  7. If we stay put it’s almost certainly 3 more sooooo sometimes you have to leave the bad relationship without knowing who your next gf is going to be simply because you know your current isn’t it
  8. I’ve got news: even more exhausting is having the wrong coach waste years.
  9. brady got a bit tarnished in his last stop but not long ago he was very much in the list of innovative young guys. he’s not top of the list but he’s worth discussion probably. That he’s in house already might be his biggest knock if trying to turn the page cleanly but I’d have to wrestle with that a bit
  10. I won’t say they are my top three but each have interesting pedigrees to add to the traditional list. Waldron is an interesting candidate having turned around geno, and having background with Mcvay and bill b. Seems to have some nifty scheme wrinkles in recaps I see about Seattle. I don’t watch a ton of their games but enough to be curious Not enough
  11. the only way we can promise our coach doesn’t have that ability is standing pat. will the next guy be better? Maybe. And that’s all that matters until we find the right one.
  12. I think we know the usual list… I’ll throw a few names we don’t discuss weekly press taylor frank smith shane waldron
  13. ultimately, playcalling isn’t a hard rule skill for head coaches, though it’s a nice thing to have.
  14. we took the game out of their hands tonight
  15. I mean, yea, I’m among the biggest advocates of being able to kick the can. That said, I was commenting from a practical matter on what was within the realm of this regimes decision tree
  16. the zero blitz not the leverage is very likely the read there though. Think of a hot read coming before a downfield read like that.
  17. if we signed Hopkins, Floyd would be gone which also would’ve hurt. that said, Davis hurts to watch and the idea he got a game ball on zero targets is awful.
  18. tell them to take zero risks and give them a play call he told his team he doesn’t trust them his team doesn’t trust him thats the end of the road, and Allen isn’t the one that you move on from
  19. He doesn’t trust his team and you can’t win coaching like that
  20. You have to at least call a play. if it’s not there, kneel but call a play
  21. I bet we practiced dime to fg block like 6 times
  22. The timeouts don’t scare me. fast scoring to maybe get the ball back I think is the play
  23. Ugh we milked the clock right into them having a non-stressful last possession without Josh getting the ball back if they score to tie/go ahead
  24. I think it takes more than 1 stop after 3 tds
  25. they are trying really hard to push that narrative like weirdly hard
