  1. yup. I think they are forgetting how much of the explosion was fantasy football based and how obnoxious it is to have games with players less than 100% and at weird timings (thurs, Sunday at 8am, etc….) then as you mention- moving into a ton of different platforms to view games. I don’t want to have to carry cable, Amazon, peacock, nfl network, and who knows what else to come to view a single team 17 times
  2. agreed on all fronts. There’s a reason when a guys got a step over the top you are adding a little air and sending it a bit towards the center of the field- giving the receiver room to work with is easier on both him and the qb. and I’ll say the theory about tweaking reads is totally fresh for me. It popped in my head while typing so it’s not totally hashed out for me
  3. oh I’ll 100% agree that it’s possible it’s different in a system - but on a wholistic level I think the inside read is almost always going to be proper. That said, we have seen some basic concepts coached patently incorrect in the offense - so a possibility I hadn’t considered is that Brady had touched up a few reads/techniques out of the gate and perhaps at game speed gabe ran the Dorsey technique and josh threw threw it Brady, for instance. In which case Brady saying it’s his job to ensure they are synced could be more accurate than we realize - and being a little less forthcoming could be him protecting that the on film techniques/reads don’t match the expected ones at this point.
  4. yup, at that point it’s more approaching a hot read. Inside gives all the grass, an easy target and has the receiver looking towards the qb the whole way potentially outside creates an over the outside shoulder catch running away from the qb in a zero blitz you don’t particularly care about the leverage and want the easy pitch and catch
  5. there was no safety inside so gabe going post there would’ve been a breeze too
  6. uniform violations are CBA negotiated flat amounts. Tough hits are much blurrier. Comparing the two fine situations will never leave anyone happy. Same with many conduct issues.
  7. Sometimes and all qbs have those throws other times the window where your guy can make a play is a tough catch on an intentional throw There are a few excellent consistent teams. To win it all you usually need a few moments of “did that seriously just happen” that work for you, as there will also be a few that work against you
  8. no but clearly a fast ball that you have to reach for a little coming through a window where you may not have a clean look at the throw can be a more exceptional than one handing a lob
  9. Watching other teams highlight by nature will skew towards thinking highlights are more common elsewhere. We haven’t had a ton of acrobatic catches but I do think sometimes we take for granted that catching some of joshs lazers coming through crazy windows can still be extraordinary on the receivers part.
  10. listen, we just need the offense to score more than any other offense in the league for this defense to lead us to a championship
  11. the problem is McD has to string together about 9 wins for those 5 to really matter
  12. the idea was we’d be all in as favorites for 2-3 years before paying the piper on him. Just dumb luck on the majors injury unfortunately.
  13. he does have 7 receiving tds in this his 7th year while he has shown to be a competent pass catcher Im not sure he’s breaking off a ton of catches down the field for tds
  14. I think that the players being off team McD would be influential and also the media could cause shame if the proper storylines catch hold - we will see
  15. floyd is already 31 - so I think of the hot free agency names he will again be a second tier mercenary on a short contract Aje will be a young guy entering his prime years. While less productive- less mileage too. I suspect their annual value will be closer than expected with aje getting more years
  16. As historically bad as your takes have been it’s fantastic that you keep making up certainties based solely on your own gut.
  17. it was the key thing as it was the one closest to being completed they always have post game press access - just rarely is it interesting enough to report on
  18. if he doesn’t trust his franchise qb on that level then he should resign. Sure there’s a possibility a ball bounces off Gabe’s hands but otherwise coaching your qb to simply turtle on a bad snap, or if the line collapses shouldn’t be any type of feat. Thinking he can’t achieve that is saying you don’t believe he is an effective coach.
  19. Yes, a fumble should be near impossible if you coach your team effectively in that situation. This wasn’t coming from behind desperation, it was put pressure on the defense while taking zero risks
  20. yea made no sense. I think the decision was made before the situation actually presented itself - let them rush an insane kick like that
  21. yea, it’s ugly and not something I like advocating but until the rule changes it’s essentially the only way to stop the points. They still convert any short yardage around the field but it’d come off the board quickly with a couple more hits like phillips laid
  22. On the goal line how the 1 yards gained matters little. May as well see if they drop the ball on the fake/pass. Mid field you are relatively correct though. especially at the goal line. Go ahead and give me half the distance for them to think twice on the call
  23. the timeout aside…. Make the db read a play, not slip on a wet field and make a clean penalty free tackle you have the advantage of being able to be very safe in your execution. Make it your safest call possible and let the players play It’s weird that a large group on the internet is not always in consensus. that said, I think it was the 2-3 plays before the throw leaving us in a no man’s land where they couldn’t reach the end zone as the actual complaint from the wide majority, if you are trying to be honest
  24. what about getting the ball 20 yards to toss a Hail Mary?
  25. meh. I dont worry much about the fans killing me if I trust my guys and have properly coached them Tell Josh to be incredibly safe and then make the eagles execute properly. put another way- you know with us having 1 timeout that the eagles will be guarding the boundary and deep ball. Don’t let them get in range in one play, and don’t let them get out for a second play. 20 yard seam to Kincaid and if there’s a face mask or some penalty you are on the edge of a deep kick, if it goes boringly and you burn the timeout you have a Hail Mary and again force the eagles to execute. Josh feels any rush, just turtle and protect the ball. we keep talking about the 40 yards to get a kick but what about the very manageable throw or two to get 20 to put a ball in the end zone? make the eagles play on their heels and not mess up
