ESPN/Barnwell’s All-Pro teams (find the one Bill)

yea but plenty of pass rushers are having great years, right? hes tied with 4 people for 16th in sacks- so average among top edge players? seems like the classic hall of very good vs hall of fame debate. He’s had a very solid season, but you aren’t picking him as the cornerstone generational talent and that’s not an insult to him Yea, I think he have a ton of guys playing in that range of 5 to 16 at their positions. Not many gaping holes but not a ton of dominating performances either. It’s a solid well rounded roster with a superstar at qb. That’s what we are supposed to be at this phase of a maturing roster though. -
In fact, weren’t they eliminated prior to kickoff even? While I won’t weigh in on CBA legalities- I will say as a player I’d rather have the choice to waive it instead of simply being benched because of the unspoken dynamic of it existing my point with the Denver news article coming out prior to the ask even happening was that benching to avoid injury risk is relatively common. So much so that Denver writers were talking about it as a play even prior to the team broaching it. Unless you think they were bringing some new and novel idea the league had not seen.

Raiders with Jimmy garrapolo, back in November as the most recent if you like parallels the raiders with derek carr sitting and Jarrett stidham replacing him just last year? heck the Denver post did an article on potentially benching Russ because of the guarantee on October 20th the concept isn’t particularly foreign

Tyrod Taylor, right here in Buffalo like a few years ago boss.

you know how after a long weekend you are pretty good but like 2 weeks in Europe you barely remember your passwords, yet alone what company you work for. -

plenty of teams don’t bench starters also, Baltimore has won games without Lamar. Heck, pittsburghs starting their backup qb Yup- not every coach likes two weeks off -

Have they sat in the past? -
If you make something up the player can file a grievance. Just cause you don’t like a guy doesn’t mean you can IR him

Who in the AFC would teams rather not see in the playoffs?

I don’t think flacco is a long haul answer. he came in with no film on how he’d be running the offense and just like a backup can often win a few games before coming back to earth- I think the browns offense will too with him -
DaQuan Jones is BACK - will play vs the Patriots

I mean even referencing Von is like saying you are worried about the weather against New England because the team played poorly when getting cooked in Miami last year. sure, it’s still weather, like it’s still an injury…. But it’s pretty substantially unrelated maybe not an upgrade from peak tre- but I think what we have seen of post injury from tre puts rasul as an equal or better player. Put another way: our defense isn’t worse playing rasul this weekend. -
the team not going to the playoffs, with a fired coach, missing all their stars and having a buzz saw coming to tear through them The team is a new move to LA and LA is a transient market surely nothing better to do with your Saturday night in LA

I’d assume to get a first we’d have to send back a first and would be moving up not just getting one. but I’d also assume the cardinals would rather just draft a wr

that he’s not good enough to start for them next year or beyond is a non financial consideration. We can argue semantics if you want. Tyrod was similarly benched here because he was not good enough and it was financially risky to let the guy that’s not good enough to be there long term start short term based on his contract structure.
-
because his expected contributions going forward don’t mesh with his financial compensation and they don’t want to risk the associated commitment long term so it’s not purely financial.
-
so we are arguing that Payton is benching him for 2022? come on Weo, I know you’ve got better in there
-
Had he made 2025 not guaranteed for injury, that may have been the plan but they weren’t risking him for two more years
-
I don’t think you are serious with this argument. You can do better than that.

A contract he’s wildly underperforming and a playoff shot that is quite slim…
