  1. im aware. It’s a house built on a broken foundation 100 years ago and as the money grew so did the disconnect between what we have vs what probably should be. I’m not saying there are easy left turns from here. The money is too big for colleges to step aside and the barriers to entry are pretty large for a new league. the closest alternative would have been instead of injecting NIL money, allowing kids to declare and let the nfl develop the ones chasing immediate pay days instead of education and reps playing the game
  2. the answer still is and always should’ve been: if you want pay to be an entertainer go be a professional the idea that colleges have these just absurd arrangements attached and a for profit unaffiliated league couldn’t be reasonably offered is wild. I know the toothpaste is decades out of the tube but just remarkable how wild it’s gotten and will get when the obvious original answer is to give an alternative path for professional athletes outside of college settings and colleges remain academic settings
  3. he also will never be part of the answer either hes the fitz of running backs without the beard or Ivy League pedigree. Good enough to play in the league but not who you want.
  4. what will we do? We will have 3 good undersized guys that will each likely get nicked up with their aggressive play plus a nickel corner in the same boat. I’d guess they will very much appreciate the depth and regularly need it
  5. the fitz test, right? Slings it all day but when the windows tighten up the deficit shows. On the bright side we have a guy that can just carry a drive like that instead of putting it all on the WRs I’d almost remind folks of the colts defense with manning. Playing with a lead can do great things for the unit. We will see how they handle some adversity. Itll be an interesting storyline to watch. luckily, we have a cheat code in Josh Allen.
  6. I’ll go with lesser charges, eat a modest sentence and quietly come out in 5-10
  7. im not arguing he’s great or anything. I think he’s a perfectly normal decent nfl coach.
  8. I mean he lost 34-31 in Buffalo with Skylar at qb. It’s not like he’s never gotten the team up to play in bad situations. First up, it’s inevitable to be a crapshoot with those talent deficits at qb. Then there is the reality that Green Bay gets their qb back any day while Miami may have seen theirs have his career ended. Totally different situation for the other 52.
  9. Gabe will always go down as one of the strangest bills players for me. slow deep threat. Got game balls with no catches. Hard worker that didn’t seem to have the football IQ to be remotely qb friendly. you want to like the guy but he might’ve been the worst starter in the team too
  10. Obviously happy so far but jags are a mess, and we own the dolphins Plus we have a new scheme without film and it’s September I think at some point the WRs will slow us down a bit - it’s a big bet on a lot of guys to step up and they aren’t nicked up and playing the chiefs dbs in January currently McGovern wasn’t a crazy bet and I do trust Kromer a ton with the line I liked Brady A hot start is great but it’s a marathon and we aren’t to the real challenges yet
  11. Shoot, you should have to put the insurance policy cost against the cap if that’s the case
  12. yea- if they lose Dallas, and buff… that’s 0-4 that would leave them looking to go like 10-3 to finish the season? Ambitious. would love to see a cowboys win this week
  13. the special teams unit has consistently had issues.
  14. im not even sure that feels better. a unit that consistently has issues allowing a blocked kick is a hefty concern too
  15. ultimately it’d be a court fight with an insurance company over a 9 figure payout right? It’d be messy. I’d be curious the portion guaranteed for skill vs guaranteed for injury
  16. also OCs get poached at like a 3 to 1 rate compared to DCs. plus Brady has a pretty good reputation already
  17. That’s a curveball - it seemed most thought he’d be back this weekend
  18. I guess my next question would be what type of innovative play design are you seeking if this is football 101?
  19. im often guilty of overthinking and that’s why I sometimes like to dumb down things to the level of the starting running back averaging 3.5 points per touch in the first half I will say that I agree that we need to see more before crowning him - but qualify it with the fact that tonight wasn’t necessarily the place to show that. Simple things like motion and spacing were enough to win most, albeit not every, matchup,
  20. Tua just has no natural feel for impacts. He’s an athlete that isn’t naturally athletic almost.
  21. yea, it’s always tough to judge when live and against vastly inferior talent… but even worst case is that he is no longer the guy that’s vastly inferior himself. Admittedly my eye doesn’t always grab the individual performance so much as the differential vs the opposition when watching live which can make a night like this hard to judge in the moment
  22. I do think Fitz was right - pop him on IR. Take the camera off his every practice report for a few weeks and let him figure it out. Odds are it’s a few weeks anyway. Take away the daily discussion of it for a couple weeks.
  23. I’ll admit, I felt skeptical tonight and am curious to see/hear more. With a backup tackle, 3rd string guard, and backup qb - my head went straight to it being overrated but I’m open to checking it out to see if it would be play that gets home in tougher situations
  24. At one point our RB1 had 6 touches but was only stopped by Miami 3 times. Our rb was averaging 3.5 points per carry, not 3.5 yards. im not sure what else you do with to scheme that up more as a coordinator
