Football Czar for off season
NoSaint replied to Buffalo Bills Fan's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
You hire the czar first, not last. Itd be fitting at this point. -
Of all our "hot" starts, is this by far the worst?
NoSaint replied to Steptide's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
I think out of all our fast starts— this one surprised me as much as any. We jettisoned a lot of talent and brought on an OC that didn’t fit our qb. -
Start pulling people and such and you get 5 hitting 3 even. Having major players inside does so much for the numbers game.

Cousins isn’t that guy.... and after his time in washington he might Be might be rather upset. unfortunately, Tyrod is the free agent of the upcoming offseason that you do this with. Much like it was fitz when we took EJ

Story seems to check out, honestly. I think this guy gets it.

Hed likely struggle immensely with this roster. We’d have to find our dareus/suh/haynesworth/Cox as a baseline. Not sure how we get that type of guy and qb in the draft.

Travaris Cadet for RB2 (update - dislocated ankle)

All of the above is reasonable. But if your going to do it- at least do it. The pre planning of this offense was abysmal. These problems were obvious in March and only got worse with each move -
And that’ll wear you out over months of play.

If you are going to run the ball as your identity- it’s kind of nice to have a reasonable depth chart, no? -

He’s an ok depth guy. Ideally a #3 but he’s our second best and should be treated as such. -
To be fair, there was little requiring a rebuild. But now that weve torn it all down, I guess we may as well be patient and let it play out. but it’s hard to see the philosophy/process at times

What’s happened is obvious- we let a ton of talent go. Are we officially down to 3 players drafted by buffalo in rounds 1-2 before this offseason? (Shaq, wood, Glenn)

Go back to January and some of the biggest supporters of this regime were the ones loudly saying we had a strong roster that was anchored by the Ryans- that we were .500 despite bad coaching and dropping a good coach into the mix would be 10 wins. Now its a 3+ year rebuild.

NFL investigating Jameis Winston for Uber incident

Giving the benefit of the doubt — youvdelivered it very poorly. Not assuming the best, you are probably a fine enough guy but you probably make the women in your life uncomfortable more often than you or they care to realize/admit. -
If at the end of the year we finish a game behind the jags, and the run defense continues to trend as it has for both teams... will you still be super amped up for free agency 2018?

Around the NFL Week 11 - Who to Root For
NoSaint replied to 26CornerBlitz's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Aaaand the saints came back. Lattimore getting hurt today really hurt their defense. Also struggled to get pressure. Hard to call a team winning 8 in a row a pretender though. I dont think its it’s a GREAT team but it’s a very very good one. -
Now should we be worried that so many talents don’t seem to be able to fit?

Why do you find that to clearly be the truth? I think most understand sooner is better, but at this point what do you want them to do? Tearing them down or telling them they aren’t doing it right just makes the next less likely to want to come forward. It’s a tricky spot all around, but hopefully this is a little bit of a tipping point and while we likely hear about it more hopefully it happens less -
D&C'S MAIORANA: Clock Is Ticking On Dennison

The flip side- imagine you are a player with some success in the league. You throw a decent deep ball on the perimeter, have good wheels on you... but know you struggle with the middle of the field. Is it your fault when the coach/gm bring in all possession receivers and quick reads to the middle? This trouble was incredibly predictable once we paired the two guys. Many saw it coming in the spring. We have a limited qb and played to his weaknesses instead of strengths Well, that’s about trying to force packages and mismatches elsewhere. It can’t be a core staple but if it gets tolbert on a corner and they keep in a thumper lb who gets stuck on clay, that’s a huge win. much like md. It can’t be regular but once in awhile is fine. -
It was a TANK season all along - - get it !!!

3 years if they are lucky is crazy talk. If you need 3+ years to get the roster built to your scheme you need a new scheme. The only thing that’s allowed to take 3 years is getting the right qb, and if you don’t have one you definitely have to try sooner than 3 years -

Yup... could be Sean Payton-esque or end up josh mcdaniels. Wide range of possibilities. I’m not super confident but we are here and anything is possible so I’m rolling with it -

So he’s saying they need to fit it up? He can be a good coach and they good players and simply be a bad match in personality or philosophy at this point we have our coaches and are getting a new roster for them. We will see if it works. All we can do is wait. -
It’s a complete wildcard this week- by end of season I expect him to level off into a more predictable quality (likely below average but not disaster). not knowing how the offense will run means we could have a leg up, or make extra mistakes. Likewise he probably makes some throws he shouldn’t and those could go for 7 for either team. Predictions are a bit of throwing darts while blindfolded this week.
