He shouldve done something about it

No challenge is a major mistake. And here we go into the 4th with 3 points for the 3rd time this year?
-
The one perk is if they take one without trade is, much like EJ, the trade back (in this case last year) for qb plus pick instead of trading up makes it a softer blow if the risky qb flops. pair that guy with a vet (even TT) and you can still add a lot of outside talent. It’s not the worst but not the dream come true of getting a TOP prospect

Sean Mcvay Calling Plays at the Line

Then fast snap the ball and run the original call -
Mostly lame, but whatever. They are having fun and it’s a game. Go be lame and have some fun.

crappy watkins still soft as they come

I take Julio over him. I’d venture we all do. I think most made that comp point on their first couple years as a rebuttal to him being called a bum, and a #3 that hadn’t accomplished anything. Even you said top half of the #1 receiver rankings. If we are debating whether he’s 5-10 or 10-15 I think that you get a different caliber of argument than is he a high end starter or is he a rotational bench player -

Yea. Easily a huge catch with anything near him. It’s hard to catch on my phone but looks like if he simply carries his stride the ball would’ve landed, what, about 7 yards behind him? To adjust that far- from a full sprint to near dead stop in the couple of strides it took is not near as easy as some want to believe. There was no way he had an ounce of consideration for a back shoulder throw there, and that was behind even for that to be a comp point for detractors -

https://mobile.twitter.com/Saints/status/934936189345218561/video/1 theres the play for reference. I think thats a tougher catch than it appears on the surface. Far tougher than the OP pretends. I think you drop any wr into that and the catch rate is very low. -

And two interference calls And I’d add takes hits and gets contested balls -
The Penalty (Bad Call in Chiefs Game)
NoSaint replied to Numark3's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Theres a difference between a catastrophic defect that can cause consequence to the consumer, and simply moving on with acceptable margins of error. No company is acknowledging every single mistake. In fact most avoid acknowledging as many as they can and then remedy as much of the remaining as quietly as possible.... leaving us to just hear about a small slice of them. -

Thats likewise an nfl stance. They worry that allowing and/or encouraging a true feedback loop would just let the perception of problems grow. If they shut it down then outside the most egregious most fans only ever see so many and remember only a few outside of those against their teams. you start putting out press releases and punishments publicly and fans have red meat. -

Id imagine that if a guy gets wildly out of line he’s not getting playoffs, and eventually working his way out of the league. Again, 100% accuracy isn’t going to happen. So, is it a bad call? Yes. Was it egregious given his angle? I honestly didn’t catch his view. I find that often goes a long way in explaining our perception differing from the actual call. And I have no idea his history. What do you think is reasonable punishment for today’s and why? -
Watkins needs to step up.... Woods out....
NoSaint replied to Billsfan1972's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
You just said hes a number 1 for half the league- so roughly 15th, for bar napkin math? That’s about dead on the cutoff for 10m+ a year Im admittedly on the fence with that interception. I’d want to see it again but I suspect that he didn’t leave a ton of opportunity on the field that play and it looked worse because they were both coasting out of bounds at the end so there was no opportunity to fight or tackle or show fire. It was a bad pass, he adjusted and tried to make a tough play and the defender was in the right spot at the right time. -

Whats the standard for accuracy of calls? 100%? Should he be held more accountable down the stretch in a close game than a blowout or in the first half? Do we think this ref was trying to fix the game or that from his angle in real time it looked worse? this was objectively a very wrong call, but what’s the expectation, how do you quantify things like this, and how much of it is the fault of getting 19 replays? Live with one look it seemed shaky. With the reverse angle slo-mo it looked horrific. -
Tyrod is better than peterman tyrod is a starting qb in the nfl but one that you always have to look to upgrade. That was a bad play. was it his worst? I don’t know. Without seeing the tape it’s hard to say how many 14 or more yarders he might’ve totally passed on.

So what happens if the Bills draft their franchise QB and...
NoSaint replied to Big Turk's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
By everyone, you mean McD and Beane, right? -
No one thinks Tyrod is the worst qb in the league if trying to win next Sunday. if there’s any debate that it can’t get worse than Tyrod - it would center around the question “is giving a viable but below average starter a commitment the worst thing a team can do?” there are a few fair questions around that.

Reggie Ragland's play for the chiefs

I don’t think they would’ve been that upset had he been our last LB. do you? -

NoSaint replied to berg1029's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
For a 2019 4th rounder, I likewise wouldn’t have been upset if they held onto him and asked him to be short yardage packages and see if he developed This is just one of those “it is what it is” moves when you swap coaches though, and needs to be an add on to a bigger point (like is the whole dL better if we ran a schwartz style 43) if someone’s going to complain -

He could have been an excellent fit in the schwartz style 43 where your line penetrates and mlb is the run stopper. Think spikes. -

In this defense he was a clunky fit. If we would’ve done a more schwartz style defense I think we might’ve gotten a bit more out of the existing roster — of the issues that run me the wrong way this isn’t a substantial one though. -
Minus is the fact that you are measuring his output at a low point and neglecting we didn’t free up thaaaat much cap space to replace bad dareus takes up all the savings, and gives away the upside
