  1. Have you produced your witnesses yet?
  2. Its largely my belief, but given his history I hate to completely rule out other options. It’s possible he could’ve actually been acting in a way that makes even less sense though. Hard to assume the logical choice with him.
  3. It’s hard to keep track of the details of his made up story. notice others in this thread are much more consistent ::cough::jauronimo::cough::
  4. I get curious — Cleveland will be a chance to see one of the other rookie QBs, for instance
  5. Id bet jauronimo could too, if there were any survivors. But please do bring your witnesses!
  6. Honestly, I believe his more than yours
  7. Right. And it seemed that he spoke to king first and over the course of this unfolding publicly the story coming from Ritchie’s mouth changed. Im not sure where the disconnect is here.... there are only a few options: 1) docs say he can’t play, and in an emotional state he pitches a fit about how he’d play for more then backs off it when he chills out and realizes the risk. 2) he was upset about the deal, fired his agent and tried to push the bills into the corner and when they didn’t back down he overstated the health concerns to try to save face. 3) the reporters straight up lied about his quotes. Im having a hard time buying that two weeks ago he got the report, decided to (for some reason publicly) fire his agent in advance of retiring, and has been quietly taking a measured approach about when and how to announce it. Given his lack of impulse control long term, his erratic behavior lately and just the generally storyline it seems almost 100% 1 or 2
  8. The early versions of the story came with both “at the right price” and “they have til Sunday” attached. It seems like he did not think through that saying that publicly would probably end his career.... im guessing he soon received a “yea, you aren’t getting more money” and that’s when he tweeted he was done. The major points were reported- but that the bills called his bluff and he followed through on the threat is my speculation. It’s possible that docs said he should quit and he just flailed around dramatically and that included some sketchy comments on his part in response to the bad news from the docs
  9. To be fair- with his erratic behavior he may have not actually fired his agent (sending a nasty tweet doesn’t count)... and even if he did I believe there’s a brief window before you can hire another (cooling off period of sorts) Firing the agent, allegedly saying he’d play at the right price and then saying the bills had til Sunday... leads me to believe he threatened and the bills said “sorry to hear that, let us know if your playing but it’ll be under the contract you just signed” and Ritchie then blew up his health problems.
  10. Meh. He seemingly gave an ultimatum and then got called on it and pushed the chips in that it was his choice. Not that it matters really...
  11. In a league with nickel as the base defense 110th puts him just outside the top 96... not something to brag on but some perspective that he’s essentially an above average first guy off the bench based on your numbers
  12. Does much work go into something like this??
  13. Theres every reason to wait— what if the bills (or giants) only like one qb at that spot? What if the giants don’t want to sell early?
  14. It’s obviously not going to happen, and there’s downside beyond the non qb asset you pass on (splitting limited practice reps for instance) but it’s not near as absurd as some are acting.
  15. Remind me how you trade a low 1st this year for a high next year? What happens if that team is suddenly .500 or a wildcard? You go go get your qb when you can. The only way you don’t trade up this year is if you don’t like the prospects available
  16. Jahri Evans and Carl nicks were pretty important to the saints super bowl but even then they were behind several others on the list of key contributors
  17. I was agreeing. Ritchie walks with it and some other player can’t get that money in a contract. 31 other teams would pursue it and any guy trying to get paid should be upset if Ritchie walks out the door with that money was my point
  18. Why is Cleveland trading 4 picks including 33, for a First next year?
  19. Unfortunately, that grade is “good” not “great” and ignores some early troubles where he singlehandedly lost games
  20. He was a mess for the rams decent but ended in disaster in Miami and had 3 very good seasons here Ignoring the Martin issue he’s still not even close
  21. Yea and those players around the league deserve that money back in the free agent pool, not Ritchie’s pocket
  22. Literally every team would do this
  23. The social media team is drafting up the official tweet
  24. Truly, you’ll never hear a GM say “we saw a franchise qb but we are just really weak at LG and couldn’t make the move”
