If true that shaq and cordy are on the block it’s hard to get past the idea that there’s a scarlet W on guys he picked. It would be quite literally every single first, second, and most thirds gone in just a year. It’s remarkable in how thorough the process was. I can’t think of another regime that has even gone this far this quick, yet alone maybe the next couple moves being possible.

There are very few good QBs in the league. He’s not one of them. there are a lot of mediocre QBs in the league. He’s among them. Not the best of them, and probably not the worst of them.

Pick the AFC divisional playoff games
NoSaint replied to YoloinOhio's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Agreed. I think the favorites handle business. I did vote jags in the poll as I hate going straight favorites and don’t see Tennessee pulling an upset Though in the nfc I think both road teams have a great chance Jags vs vikings in Minnesota has to be pretty low on the dream list for sponsors. -
Like when San Fran scored the go ahead TD with 2 mins left and Drew led a td drive back to take the lead (before the defense totally gave the game back in under a minute)? Or beating the eagles with a fg as time expired? i won’t disagree with people picking Tom. He’s great. Probably the right answer. But I think a lot of people will make the decisions based on a couple iconic plays swaying their opinions and not a true side by side comparison of the accomplishments

Brady’s “season average” of his 34 game season being brought to 16 games would be about 4300 yards, 29 TDs and 14 picks. Just a rough reference point You specifically called out the playoffs though. Stat was brees has been MUCH better in the playoffs. More yards per game, more TDs per game, fewer picks per game, higher completion percentage He’s been there less often though and those 9ers and seahawk losses were tough. Stop that beast-quake run and they are pretty much the same win percentage with brees having the far better stats. I get you don’t get to flip games but I don’t think the point you were trying to make is as clear and obvious as you think it is

In 12 games he has over 3900 yards 26 TDs and 7ints extrapolates that’s over 5200 yards 35 TDs and 9 ints for a 16 game “season” its a 7-5 playoff record but honestly 2 of those he lost on the defense giving up a final drive score after he took the lead and one was an OT loss with the chargers (don’t remember the story) hes been pretty excellent in the post season

I often think the dome issue is overhyped but I think it’s got to be a factor in this conversation. I’m not sure Brees has the build to have sustained success in the elements the way Brady has. I think if you gave brees the entire pats organization dropped into nola he’d have a MONSTER career. If you send drew to Boston, I’m not sure what happens To be honest- Drew’s contract has paid him very well, but it’s nowhere near they top reasons the saints had major cap struggles. Gallette and Graham were waaaaay bigger issues. Among several others

Ryan Talbot: 50 Potential Free Agent Fits for the Bills

I think it’s unlikely but Brees is untaggable at this point so who knows. He’s not been team friendly in the past. -
Arden Key- Do we roll the dice on him?
NoSaint replied to NewEra's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
I just thought it amusing. Clearly you like the guy or you wouldn’t have brought him up, but it was all cons and no positives. Most folks probably aren’t super familiar so your post probably reads as “this guys trouble and has no position, think we should spend a high pick on him?!?” -

Character issues and lacks a position? Not a great job selling him. -
Without knowing what it means, I just worry I’m using confirmation bias here to say “see, I was right!” Is it the targeted receiver only or all in routes? if just the targeted - do 2 or 3 totally blown coverages (which we didn’t see often) really impact a stat that is a matter of feet (and between many a matter of inches) between rankings? how exact are the measuring tools being used? And what method is used? I agree the group wasn’t good and have carried that opinion back to the offseason — but the stats questionable without knowing what’s going into it, yet alone if 6 inches extra seperation is meaningful

Video of McCoy angry after the game
NoSaint replied to Royale with Cheese's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Yup. Counting NO it would essentially be 1 in 4 games it happened. Nitpick over whether that counts or not but the frequency of games we flat couldn’t score in was astonishing -
Put another way - he’s a big productive guy that any team would welcome on the field — but he’s not the guy that makes the safety’s day hell. Put him in a scheme with a good TE, fast number two, strong run game and dynamic qb (ala Carolina with Olsen, Ginn, cam and those backs when he was there) and he can feast in a situation where the defense had to pick its poison. But he’s not aj green who even when doubled is a struggle and is opening things up for everyone else every play

Jax, nola, and kc really are anything but big Nfl markets. They definitely skew towards wards fantasy football guys though. All that said the level of insult to tre is slim to none.

Both have been monsters tre being second best corner in a great corner class isn’t near the insult some here think. In fact second to lattimore is an excellent accomplishment

Im a little higher on him but he’s still behind: brown, Beckham, Julio, green, Evans, dez, Michael thomas, jordy Demaryus, Hopkins, cooper, Alshon, cooks, Adams, TY... off hand... that makes him at best average. Short term there are some older guys ahead and long term some younger depending on how you want to weigh things — making him a below average #1 probably.... but not a train wreck either. If you really sit down with it I’d guess the earliest he lands is about 20 and latest in the early 30s? Depending on if you prefer speed or size. He’s not in the “dynamic in any scheme with any qb” category. Plug him into the right system with the right qb and keep healthy — and he’s a very good resource though.

Define “good number 2” John. Would that mean top top half of the second 32 WRs (top 48 wr)? Or maybe second best wr on most teams? Or simply the second best guy on your favorite team? Im having trouble finding a definition that works. If a street free agent you bring on in October is your #2 your situation is in shambles. I think Thompson is well served as a #4 with the understanding that he likely is top 3 any given week with injuries and is in regular packages even as 4. As a depth guy stepping up he’s viable. That’s a great resource and not a knock on him. Could probably even sneak by as your 3... but let’s really hope to have a couple guys better than him.

If saints and Atlanta win this week the nfc championship is going to be INSANE in the super dome
