  1. Gave the guy credit for progress in his life Says we don’t know what happened calls out the fact that some have been really quick to say “who cares” and reasonably says this probably warrants getting fired from a job if it’s proven to have happened and that qualifies as everything that’s wrong with society....
  2. I mean, a simple - “yea, that didn’t happen” tweet would carry some weight compared to nothing at all There’s a good chance he said something dumb, and that it’s embarrassing but not the end of the world. No need to circle the wagons around him, or to stone him in the town square at this point. I’m sure he will get asked directly at some point and we will see the reaction.
  3. I’ve been loud about adding 1, if not 2, guys. If we can use next years first (or by miracle stay put) and get the qb with 21 and not a lot more this year— we can quickly add a LB, CB, WR and RB by the end of the third (I know this board looooves rb and cb on that list) pick up an offensive and defensive lineman in free agency and you could actually have most holes fillled and work in a little depth with lower tier signings and picks in the 4-5th rounds
  4. No ones jailing the dude sounds like he might not even be punished Would not be surprised if he said something innappropriate. At this point, probably best to hope it floats away quietly instead of commenting. Seems the jags player is letting that happen too at this point.
  5. I don’t know that his arms still getting stronger as much as he just hasn’t fallen off the cliff as bad as someone like manning did. But favre was still an mvp candidate until about right now. As for officiating — Gillette was built 20 years ago. Like 10-15 before this guy even started reffing or joined the company. It’s a bit of a stretch, but get the appearance and agree the Nfl is terrible about it. The saints falcons Thursday night game (where Sean Payton got a 15 yarder for trying to get a timeout called) was reffed by a former falcons player. You’d think given the number of crews and games they’d avoid pairings like these
  6. Its really a bit bit of a coin flip. I said the same early but the longer it dragged the harder it might be to right the ship. I’m not one to Bank much on preseason, but I hope he has a really strong August and makes a few big plays right out of the gate in September. If he rolls into the season without many touches and has a rough week 1- even you have to worry some, right?
  7. I’d venture that around here those two calls will be the only thing remembered
  8. I think a lot of us are in agreement with strategy but not so much on what “high” or “priority” mean. I don’t think there’s a group advocating a first rounder. Just a premium over “any dude off the street”
  9. Or we could get a hunt, kamara etc... without a huge premium
  10. Yea, I don’t know factually but feel like sometime late on day 2 there tends to be a cliff for backs. That’s why I keep nudging the discussion from the fourth to the third I’m not rushing to take a guy in the first but I think there’s a sweet spot in round 2-3 where you can get a really impactful RB instead of a mediocre tackle.
  11. I’m really surprised that if on the fence they gave it to the one that extended the drive. Often refs try not to make the drive extending call on a 50-50. If close or uncertain, keep the impact of the call minimal kind of thought process
  12. I won’t pretend to know what happened there
  13. Again, my crazy theory is the ref there is watching a couple routes in live action on the field and likely just blew the call because he has a handful of cues that help him process information fast enough in the moment and it didn’t work on this play
  14. I prefaced with the call being wrong. if thinking it’s human error instead of conspiracy, I guess I’ll be a moron troll. But what does it make everyone that is watching a game they think is rigged and then getting upset at any and every call that confirms it for them?
  15. It wasn’t just that he was open- it was that bodies came together at the top of the route and one went down. I didn’t see the refs angles but obviously they are going to have certain cues and triggers that are likely to indicate a penalty. if you prefer to think the games rigged, I’m not even sure why you’d be watching.
  16. Meh- it was the wrong call but when officiating that many guys in real time at weird angles you use cues... as romo noted, based on an initial look with the guy getting open on the cut like that it’s normally a shove. Getting the good angle, slow motion, and knowing what was coming it was obvious.
  17. We would run to the podium to take him in the 5-6th round and you would praise the late gem we found If we hit on qb we aren’t that different than most of these teams.
  18. Always blows my mind when teams don’t defen the sidelines there though. Regardless of what you think of the clock - you deserve what you get allowing that
  19. I guess for me is part of the appeal is you can prioritize the position at pick 100, while adding a defensive lineman at 100 is a lot less likely to be impactful. I’m Definitely not saying put it over an edge rusher at 21
  20. With the extra day 2 picks, I wouldn’t even mind a third rounder if you are looking at a guy you think can be a workhorse back if it’s 100 touches this year at minimum, and perhaps many more if shady tweaks anything. It’s a guy that could carry the load in a year for a transition... and mid round lineman are a far bigger crapshoot
  21. Yea- them both out and the fumble were all huuuuge breaks in that game (not trying to diminish the win— you take them where you can and hope you get away with it on the days you are unlucky)
  22. Qb for sure. But if we are grinding out games, rb is right up there too
  23. We were very lucky he was out against us. Heckuva wr
  24. What an odd lob of a throw
