Pro Football HOF 2018 Class Announced

Owens, moss, faneca, Lewis, and boselli? -
He’d be silly to slam the door. I still think the dream spot for him would be wr2 in New Orleans. 2 year deal to match what I expect for brees. Great qb, aggressive offensive scheme. Should get numbers and exposure and be young enough for 1 big deal after.

Andrew Luck to Bills speculation/chatter
NoSaint replied to YoloinOhio's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
100% luck, and tre for lattimore 21, and next years 1? In a heartbeat. -
In my opinion- he did not

The flip side— 1) we did not go all in on this year, so youth has some added value 2) we got lucky that shady didn’t miss time as the drop off would’ve been even more substantial 3) did the vikes succeed by relying on a single explosive player or incredible depth? im not arguing it as an obvious choice- just saying it’s probably more debatable than some think

Pick 31 and opening a bunch of cap space and getting young? Let’s say it was last offseason — and maybe not even a first rounder. Would we be better off with shady and Tolbert or something like the Vikings backfield that has depth to handle losing their #1? Say a rookie like cook/Kamara/hunt paired with Murray and another mid tier back? There are arguments to be made.

Arians: Best QB Class In 15-20 Years

I think his point was that he shouldn’t have stretched it to 20 i think his point ignores the nature of human beings having a conversation and how you sometimes throw out reasonable estimates instead of getting super firm in your details. -
Saw two that are essentially impossible but in the way outside the box curveball category that can be fun board fodder — if you are the saints are you better off signing cousins than brees? Would the pats consider cousins if they win and brady surprises everyone with his retirement?

Im sure it’ll be fine enough... but Stevie, fitz, or a bunch of other guys would likely be funnier material Fred’s somewhere between a roast of chris Kelsey and... I don’t even know someone else in that era more vanilla for basing a comedy routine on. Lindell? im sure it’ll still be generally enjoyable though. -

I’m definitely not losing sleep over it- just thought the OP was getting a harder time than deserved... in part because people missed his point. Which wasn’t totally off base. Seems you may be more intense on this than anyone here. -

There will definitely be some material but it’s probably fair to say he’s not the prime guy for riffing on with topics widely known by fans. Doing his Incredible Hulk move after household chores? Most guys are just easier. Fitz would get beard jokes, ring jokes, Harvard jokes, sabotaging every starting qb jokes, weak arm jokes, jokes about recorded phone calls, and so on... freds less funny as a public figure. Nothing to defend there. Relatively quiet, hard worker, that wasn’t that quirky publicly- no shame in any of that. -

I think he gets that it’s in fun but doesn’t see any good angles for quality jokes... It’ll likely be a mixed bag. You can slide some amusing ones comparing him to all the backs that were supposed to replace him... maybe his steakhouse... at this point drought jokes are funny -
Cardinals to waive Adrian Peterson
NoSaint replied to Canadian Bills Fan's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
He joins the ranks of all time great running backs and terrible people he’s the type of on field talent you’ll one day tell your kids about watching though. Just a freak talent -
I think thats a key thing- a late round guy isn’t getting tossed on the trash heap, but instead has to climb his way out of the heap. If you are a day 3 qb you have major flaws you have to prove you’ve overcome. He has not yet. could he? Highly unlikely, but possible. I’m fine keeping him around but he’s the 1 in 100 shot while the trade up is a coin flip

Chiefs trade Alex Smith to washington
NoSaint replied to Castellar's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Well, down the road would be 4 years and possibly 2 GMs from now if it doesn’t work out. You miss on that and you are stuck long term. With Tyrod s dead money you are looking at like 140m over 5 years to the starting qb position with over 100 (90something plus the Tyrod dead money) “guaranteed” the more I let the numbers settle the more I feel ok about Tyrod (essentially the lowest paid starter not on a rookie deal) and a prospect like mayfield. -

Just saw a report that the new money was 23.5 per. So that’s a 5 year 111m deal plus a second plus a player for smith VS something like 5 years 125-130m for cousins? its an interesting discussion. Add in staying put for the 4th qb off the board, or trading up and our qb situation really is a tough call this year. -

All depends on the compensation involved. if smith is sub 20m per and costs less than the chiefs traded for him, and cousins is 25m+ per year.... I’d likely lean Smith. -

Bold play to formalize and leak it this far out. Seems things could go sideways easily
