  1. Thats about normal - and you shouldnt know. It’s scheme, and coach and opponents and some luck and health. the top guys any year are a coin flip or so and that’s why they go high. the next tier is a coin flip to be a good backup and long shot to start andvthey land day two ish
  2. Leaf is a tough one to use as a comparison for any top pick. Maybe an outside chance at baker. johnny football was the last before and I can’t think of before that. Rarely do troubled guys shoot up the board. as for head vs arm — you have to check all the boxes as serviceable and then have a few real standout qualities. Vic obviously didn’t foresee that leaf was going to be a methed out felon in this debate. He simply saw a normal dude with a huge arm vs a Chad Pennington. Not crazy going back (though it seems things like leaf missing workouts with teams and such would mean he didn’t check the box for head)
  3. Be honest- their fb and twitter each have less than 30 likes/followers. By found do you mean you created this? If so, no shame in some self promo.
  4. I always like to steal opinions from visiting fans — and as a saints season ticket holder myself I’ll cue you up with some good saints related questions: 1) cadet and ivory in our backfield... I think we all get what ivory is - hard runner, not a star but super physical. Cadet seems a mystery to more here. Share any thoughts? 2) free agency.... think Snead gets the tender pulled? Bills are in dire need of a WR. Could be a cheap but effective option. Delvin Breaux at cb? How’d he go from the hottest up and comer around to still unsigned? 3) as a division rival what do you think of how McD and Beane did in Carolina and now in buff?
  5. Tannehills not great but didn’t play either... and Watson was of course not playing most of the year... real trend here in the teams not taking a qb but picking high
  6. Oh, it’s not a terribly serious thing on the Gruden front. and lynch still has a long way to go. If he got his qb he did the heavy lifting but we still need to see it over more than a month. I think crickets are fair cause it’s wait and see time.
  7. I disagree, and think you are pretty far out on a small island with that opinion but I’ll give you credit for taking the stance
  8. So when I asked who you sign, contract being equal, and you replied that the contracts wouldn’t be equal and kicking at NEF is tough, that wasn’t a bit of a shuffle step? who gets your jersey, pay check being equal?
  9. Ill say I’m not advocating here but I wouldn’t be upset A month ago he would’ve been VERY low on my radar. But when you say sign two guys with that money— who are your two that are left out there? the day 3 draft pick is of no real consequence. But the market is super thin at this point unless you want to go sign a guy like Brandon Tate to come back. I’d be super down for the Bryant idea once we make our qb trade- though I’m guessing many here don’t have the stomach to risk a pick on him. We need talent though and it’s not on the free agent market, and we don’t have huge resources - so there’s a good argument to be made for a big chance on an injury or character risk.
  10. Nice shuffle step to avoid the pressure So by “Schmidt is just as good” you meant just as good (of a value when weighing overall team building strategies) and not Schmidt is just as good (of a player)
  11. I enjoy that you can respond to literally every Raiders post with that If both were free agents at your door asking for the same contract and you needed a punter: who do you hand the pen and paper to?
  12. Even if you think they are similar players you end up freeing $15m a year vs committing to a guy like Tyrod — which is the price of a non qb all pro vet.
  13. Again, have an AWESOME time... definitely not a knock. Just even as a football fan I have a hard time talking myself into that one. It’d take a long time to get to the draft in my list of places to take a 3 day weekend.
  14. You do you, and have a great time (seriously!) but i I would have a hard time traveling to watch the draft in person
  15. Lots of pressure on the defense to create turnovers and short fields huge need to stay 100% healthy (which is tough with wr1 and te1 having bad knees and a high miles back that’ll be the focus) And do really well with calculated risks (3rd and 7? Throw it downfield and see what happens) and exploiting every blown play (and creating those with creative play calls) I could see us semi productive in September when healthy and nothing on film but as defenses start tightening for playoff races and we get nicked up it could get ugly unless we add some solid pieces
  16. Im not sure which situation would irk me more... knowing these kids got hurt running drills that probably won’t otherwise effect their draft stock or finding out that my team moved guys around drastically over 3 cone drills in private workouts after watching tape, the combine and pro days
  17. It really is remarkable how bad the current group is in such a pass centric league, and expecting a young qb. it feels like we have a borderline 1 and borderline 3 and a few 5-7. We need to add a starter and a guy that can play heavy snaps off the bench (and one of those to have speed) to even be a functional unit...
  18. Not the answer but as a depth guy would you like to see the bills offer Willie Snead if his tender is pulled? Go to camp with something like: Benjamin zay rookie with speed (day 2) snead reilly holmes streeter i still want one reliable guy for depth and one speedy wild card added in the group.
  19. Yea, if you can’t see it at the combine, pro day or on film — I’m not sure how much you’re really going to see in a workout. I can see benchmarking once or twice but for a bunch of teams individually is silly I dig a visit to get to get to know a guy, give a physical etc... but to make him run drills is kind of silly to me. You should be able to tell what you need to tell by now unless something out of the ordinary has come up (say an injury and showing you’ve recovered for instance)
  20. Would be kind of a jerk move to do that via twitter
  21. Generally would agree on all fronts
  22. Why would he think suspension and not just “hey we will give you a little reward up front for you doing this pay cut” Or maybe it’s that he’s upset from something else they are representing him on or maybe he felt good doing this and the agent pushed him not to
  23. Thats like the 70th highest paid wr. Could you get a safer guy? Yea. But with the risk comes potential reward.
  24. Cap hit this year is $2.6m if traded which is a bigger risk than the pick... and still not a big risk really the pick could turn into a higher comp down the line with his expiring contract depending on how the plus minus goes (the next offseason should see signings)
  25. Yea but sometimes situations get dicey and it happens. Not sure if either side is completely soured here but I suppose possible it could happen
