  1. I mean, sure. that said, as long as the mechanics of the process are always the same, it’s essentially just giving a standardized half second buffer that as long as standard makes no material difference
  2. it’s being governed the same. It’s just a rare call to begin with and happened to be seen a few times recently in close succession. Nothing about it is new.
  3. and if the fraction of the second was meaningful and unevenly enforced I’d be right there with you.
  4. All of those providing an advantage as long as the mechanics of the play clock are consistent it’s absolutely fine by me as is as there is no meaningful gain.
  5. it’s incredibly rare, outside of the day announced, that I see any demarcation of pro bowl starters, backups, and frankly once guys start pulling, even alternates bumped up. any given year there’s simply about 8-10 pro bowl quarterbacks it seems. As an example.
  6. And a lot of money. it’s hard to knock his rating down but giving up a 1st plus more and paying a vet contract, maybe not a full A+?
  7. 4 drafted lineman plus a free agent is a lot of bodies to squeeze into the 53 probably overshooting a bit
  8. with the season done for weeks I wouldn’t be shocked if it was just a talking point to skip the game. surely he’s not at the team facility trying to pass the various tests to work through protocol and is just dealing with his own doctors at this point in the off-season right?
  9. you know how to write a subject and fill in content for a post, John
  10. I think we would be fine with either coordinator coming back. I don’t think either unit is elite but both were above average/good for the most part. I think either could be improved upon still. Most importantly I think after a good bit of time building a foundation and finding a plateau that we are in a spot that an outside voice could be very helpful. I’m not saying bring a radical scheme change but instead of promoting within go find fresh eyes that fit our existing talent. I also think some players are wanting to see at least a little shake up off the field.
  11. We have a strange dynamic where our offensive scheme is too simple but simultaneously impossible for new additions to learn.
  12. it wouldn’t be a long term answer but the division getting tougher short term isn’t a dream come true.
  13. I’d love a fresh voice from outside the building in coaching leadership. Whether a coordinator or a position coach/AHC title someone able to challenge the staffs existing views a bit
  14. hopefully the 5th year option both encourages him as a contract year but also as another year in the system. It’s not excusing it as others have played better but wouldn’t be crazy to see some covid year disruption and a few normal off-season help take a step or two forward when paired with the crossroads. I dont think he’s been “the guy” but want to find reasons to think he could be viable still. Another inconsistent year and you could spend money more effectively than paying him as an elite guy
  15. a fair but unappreciated point. It wasn’t the end of the world when Dorsey did that but I think it certainly pointed at a red flag in him, and wasn’t embodying what he would want out of his guys.
  16. heck, zay Jones got 3 years 24M boyd is exactly the type they likely won’t be able to keep
  17. counter, burrow and chase will quickly eat that cap and their margin for error will shrink drastically. they are what the bills should’ve been 2-3 years ago when fans were just happy to be in the playoffs. we will be contenders for a decade but it’ll be tough to overcome the teams with a qb and wr or DE on rookie deals. It just amounts to like 4-5 extra good vet starters
  18. I liken it a bit to working in a disaster zone - the jobs off the rails with no routine, your dealing with chaos at home and after a month or so you have one of those days at work where you just sit staring at your desk without purpose cause you are just burnt and there’s no more adrenaline to just muscle through it. blizzard to thanksgiving to Thursday to losing von to Christmas blizzard to damar… they went over a month with no routine or normalcy and just a lot of energy drain
  19. or just let him bring Jeff Ireland and have a fresh start. I do t think it’s happening but you don’t do it halfway.
  20. Disagree wholeheartedly- we have a team that can play in elements. They did not though. They would’ve been flat in cincy or a dome.
  21. unfortunately, second rounders are not elite prospects at DL. we have Ed O, Rousseau and an injured VM. We need another elite rusher, even if a short term rental.
  22. ill say I think the Micah Hyde injury is a bit much to point at as an item on the list. Guys get hurt. He’s not Josh. You have to play through that. I am curious if VM would’ve flipped the script some. Real pressure changes everything. but I do generally agree that this team hit the floor instead of its ceiling the last month. Seasons have roller coasters and just a rough way for it to unfold from late November through yesterday. Blizzard-blizzard-national tragedy at your workplace is a really challenging run to keep at 110% every day. Not to excuse it but think that a let down game was almost destined.
  23. to be fair, diggs should’ve gone upfield on the one pass instead of tucking right behind the underneath defender creating a much harder pass. Our receivers seem to often create harder lanes. then to bark at the guy right after he gets crushed is ridiculous there’s good diggs and bad diggs. Yesterday was a glimpse at the bad one. I like the guy, he makes our team better but he was also replaced in Minnesota for a reason.
  24. noting them being so close it’s weird you think you know better than Josh there.
  25. so 6 yards is a longshot but you kick onside
