Has her social media ever been anything but short sighted?
-
im thinking “presented by Apple Music” and “partial owner of tidal” may be an issue then you get into no Kanye cause Kanye, no eminem cause two years in a row and maybe it turned into a “just showcase her” as you creep down the list of who could join. just spitballing

Went back and watched without the crowded house and such…. I’ll say some of the staging/cinematography was stunning. Maybe left a little on the table but super cool for the most part. choreography of her dancers still not my favorite, but a little better than first impression setlist and stringing the medley together clicked even less under scrutiny though. Would be curious the thought process on a few transitions. looking back through her catalogue still amazed the ultimate collaborator went 100% solo. Could’ve had so many artists. Heck. Even if wanting to sidestep that image they could’ve had asap do something to be a part of actually announcing the pregnancy via song. It just needed some sort of extra punch to create the iconic moment.

im sure the nfl loves the headlines and that the eagles didn’t get a shot at a legendary comeback drive or possible overtime
-
I appreciate it- I think the context of consistent vs inconsistent is everything on this one. I’m surprised that we are getting random celeb tweets and not more of these clips
-
the phrase “any grab of the jersey” is actually in the nfl video rule book as a separate fully standalone clause separate from the impeding the player clause.
-
to be fair, this was a new layer of you missing it. I was simply pointing out that his ability to get to the ball matters as little to the debate as what brand of socks he’s wearing the jersey stretch is actually one of the few “snapshots” that actually work in this debate. If you want to go back to it happening all night, I won’t pursue that point with you until you provide actual reference material either
-
if you think that’s the standard, then you don’t get the rule. It isn’t PI and catchability or getting to the ball doesn’t matter. Mahomes doesn’t even need to throw it to get the call. He could throw it away completely and get the call. pre throw the jersey stretches like that on a cut, there’s a good chance a flags coming.

I think you may have also nailed something here with “great considering she has not been on stage since 2018” and not “that was great I can’t believe she’s been off tour 5 years and out of the studio 7” she’s talented. She’s got a catalogue. That wasn’t the coolest performance of her career. It wont be as iconic for her as it could’ve been. It wasn’t a trainwreck or anything though.

I think we are at a glass half full vs half empty crossroads of how to approach it. I happen to enjoy the game more when I’m not upset about a call being poor until it’s actually shown to be poor. I get people not wanting to give benefit of the doubt. There have been many issues. But it feels like a fast route to not enjoying the game and starting threads like this about how the nfl is losing you as a fan if you are going to assume it’s a sham until proven otherwise (not YOU, but the OP).
-
this crew is known for throwing flags, and I think we’d have the montage of clips if it was going on all game. Can you imagine a fan base sitting on their hands if the proof was there? We will see with the all 22. It’s possible, and would change my feelings but there’s some burden of prof if claiming that’s the case
-
for sure- but even on the ground are you arguing it was a particularly impressive choreography? ultimately, I see the loudest supporters celebrating her idgaf attitude and I guess that just doesn’t thrill me as the halftime show performer. I in fact enjoy that people gaf in a moment like that
-
I do recall that - and would be curious to rewatch. That said, one play early in the second quarter I don’t think supports that they swallowed the whistle all game and guys adapted to a style of accepted play and then were surprised suddenly type of claims. I dont expect a perfect game but a relatively consistent one. Mistakes happen, bad angles happen, etc…. But I would be more outraged if it was an incredibly grabby game all night and then out of nowhere the call comes. I don’t feel like that’s my recollection of the night nor has anyone really shown it.
-
I mentioned that being a big surprise in the moment. I thought it was pretty well known but many around me were relatively unfamiliar. I guess they did a little market study and realized they could dust it back off now
-
I mean, calm confidence is something but feels like trying to shoehorn reasons to support that it was a noteworthy performance on the biggest stage on earth. it was fine. She is talented. Last night did not feel like the best of what you’d expect from her.
-
yea, I feel like if you count out the “it must be rock and roll” guys that are mad about not being the target market… last year was pretty well received and this year was kind of flat. staging- actually very cool choreography - she was obviously a statue but even the dancers were just ok/fine costuming/wardrobe- meh. interesting musical twists or collabs? Nope. If ever there was an artist to shine here, one known for collabs and physically limited could do cool stuff here but… ye went crazy, and jayz is probably off limits for Apple Music presents… and… this year I think the irrational pushback is more from the “it’s cool and y’all are just old” crowd. They literally set the stage for something cool but ended up just ok.
-
yea, it took the air out of the moment but was letter of the rule and no one’s shown it inconsistent yet… not my favorite call but definitely not egregious as highlighted this far. you came and made an unsubstantiated claim that should be easy to substantiate- I’m not sure what to say about your dislike of being questioned on it. Don’t make the claim if you don’t plan to back it up somehow?
-
yes, you are declaring that you feel like it was happening all game. You can’t produce factually that it was happening.
-
“I can point to no proof of my claim that millions of passionate fans would be eager to prove” doesn’t ring much better does it? Im just saying that you are actively saying there was an issue that occurred while I’m simply saying the rule was accurately enforced and you’ve brought no support of your claim. Which of us is using feelings?
-
hasn’t occurred to you that there are millions of Philly fans and it’s been a good bit of time and… crickets?
-
Generally fair. And frankly, if getting everything perfect is priority number 1– gosh, get off the message boards dissecting every minute detail, trade in the hi def tv for something a little fuzzier and look away from the ultra zoomed in frame by frame replays and you’ll find it’s likely not that it’s worse but that you recently started seeking out mistakes on a level you’d never dream of in 1982
-
In the time you’ve spent typing it you could’ve found examples of all the other holds ignored to put this to bed
-
everyone keeps referencing the plenty of examples and worse ones. The most compelling argument will be when anyone compiled them from last night. And I don’t mean a single clip where a ref has a weird angle to see it- but pervasively allowing that kind of grabbing on change of direction throughout the night
-
honestly, surprised we haven’t seen a Philly fan with a montage of no calls yet if they were truly allowing all game. I’ll hold off on my outrage for now. It was fine by the letter of the rule, and hasn’t been shown out of line by the spirit of consistency -yet-
