  1. I was a Trent Edwards fan. I was a total believer that he looked like an NFL Quarterback in a way that Losman and other QBs simply did not. But now I've got to say, not only has Trent sucked after Cleveland, he sort of sucked before -- things have just gotten demonstrably worse since. Thoughts? You echo my present thoughts. Trent has had a lot of opportunities. I think we have to face the fact that he is just not the guy.
  2. I totally agree. If Trent repeats his performance of last week he will not make it past the bye week. My prediction.
  3. vegas line has the Packers by 13.5 and a 43 over-under. I would take the over and Greenbay....
  4. I really thought we had a chance at an 8 and 8 season this year. After the Fins game I just don't see it. I was really thinking we would finally see some offense. That was not there. There were some great plays (go Roscoe) but the offense as a whole looked pathetic. Our great running game went up in a puff of smoke. There was little else there to show any promise for the season. I like Chan's call at the 4th and 1, and again taking the safety. I still believe Chan is the guy. I just don't think we have the talent. Saw Green Bay play Philly after. I am not even going to turn next weeks game on....
  5. Jim Kelly is to the Bills what water is to Niagara Falls. He is the team's best cheerleader. He is part of its successful history. He has an insiders perspective. Official or not, I love hearing from him.
  6. GREAT POST!!! I could see that happening.
  7. First realistic article I have read: http://www.usatoday.com/sports/football/nfl/bills/notes.htm Good analysis with a reasonable outcome...
  8. Sorry for not posting in the existing thread
  9. From Steelers Lounge, commenting on the Broncos-Steelers preseason game: Kraig Urbik: Hills is battling Urbik for the title of most improved lineman on the Steelers’ roster this preseason. After watching him in limited action against Denver, it would be hard to see him pink-slipped at this point. Urbik showed strength, when he gives a punch or a push, the defender usually reels a little bit. He does has some trouble when he’s on the move trying to block linebackers or other moving targets. It seems like he’s a better player in the phone booth than pulling out on a counter. Play Result Good Block? 1 Excellent pass block on bull rush Yes 2 LB gets no push in pass rush Yes 3 Shows some strength again, although his man reaches around to help stuff Dwyer Yes 4 Blocks no one. Looks confused No 5 With help seals #52 on busted play Yes 6 Finds LB and lays good block Yes 7 Gives pop, hands off man finds next target and picks him up. Very good job Yes 8 OK job on #99 Yes 9 Helps Hills stuff pass rush Yes 10 Fine pass block on Batch INT Yes 11 Excellent run block drives #93 back Yes 12 Doesn’t get free from DT block to pick up LB No 13 Pulls for first time meets #96 in hole for solid block Yes
  10. Well, if you add up all the letter grades and average them, its actually more of a D+, C- situation. I don't think our quarterback situation is as bad as you think. I like to remember Edwards from the season opener in 2008 taking on the Seahawks. Great game. He was doing good that season until he got hammered in Arizona. Last year, I again saw a good, if not disappointing game against the Patriots. I am a little concerned about the defense. Especially our inability to stop the run. Bottom line I see us as a solid "C" team with upward potential to "B-". We are short of talent in some key areas but I feel we will witness some excellent games this season.
  11. Tell us how you really feel, please! Great post
  12. I expect a massive flame, beginning with Sanchez.
  13. I hope they keep him on the practice squad. I thought He demonstrated some potential.
  14. I agree with you. I like Fritz, but I think Brohm has the edge. Additionally I think is upside is way greater than Fritz. I feel dropping Brohm would be a mistake.
  15. Ouch! We've already seen during pre-season what happens when Edwards has both time and playcalling behind him... he looks solid to me. Lets hope the regular season proves Mr. Simmons wrong. I write these negative and petty stories to sports writer and sports caster laziness. It is very difficult to cover every team on the NFL in depth. So they they don't even bother writing about the teams that were not competitive at the end of last season. So no matter what happens during preseason, they will just revert back to a Bills suck or a player sucks dialog. It makes for easy copy and the fans of other teams like reading it. Bottom line is we will have to see what happens int he season. We will earn respect on the playing field or we won't.
  16. Based upon your title, you had my head scratching. But I see your point. After all, the Bills are a business and they need to make a profit. The word "Greed" is a bit strong with its negative connotations. Lets face it, you want to keep the team in Buffalo? You want them profitable as all heck.
  17. Absolutely the Bills did the right thing.
  18. They would be fun to follow if you have the time. Thanks
  19. Dear God I hope not. Send him to Seattle.
  20. First, if I were a former player I would leave my name out. Second, there are certain people who like to lash out in posts and email because there is a degree of anonymity. When dealt with on a personal level they are usually cordial. There is something about these forums that bring out the worst in those types. I agree with your comment that its not the one great player, but the team as a whole that will win games. As fans we are going to root for the team and players and vent our frustrations at bad players or situations. There is nothing like the thrill of victory and for the price of admission or the time it takes to watch a game, we fans get to have our heart beats increased and feel exhilarated at a win. We will also feel frustration at a loss. If we feel a player is not giving his all, or the coach is making poor decisions we are going to voice our opinion. The same player I was critical of one week can be my hero the next. Such is sports. That is why we love it so. I would tell players not to take the criticisms too personally. Yes, we can be obnoxious at times, but its only because we are fans identifying with the team. Last year it was tough on fans and players alike. We didn't seem to catch a break. This year I do feel better about the team, the coaching and the players in general. Football is very competitive. We will soon cut down to the core team and many players will be cut. That is tough and there will be many fans with counter opinions as to who was cut and why. All part of the game. But to put things in perspective, I feel even being on a practice squad is an amassing accomplishment. I love to talk to former players and hear them relive their moments on the team. Its all part of being a fan. I wish you would reconsider leaving. I love the dialog on this site and former players can only add to it.
  21. ...and the only reason we have not implemented the plan yet is because we are on double secret probation.....
  22. B#$^&*ds.... just checked the NFL network and instead of the game there is "to be announced". What lousy schmucks. Its punishment for not selling out the stupid preseason game.
  23. I am not a fabrics expert but I could swear she is testing the tensile strength of the material in her shorts.
  24. Could not have said it better!!
