Typical surface analysis, yes. Sad to say I understand why we were rated so low. Dismal 2012 season, change of coach, change of GM, tough schedule, expectations are low. Let's hope we can surprise a few teams and finish with 8+ wins!
Absolutely agree. The whole NCAA system is absurd. The players make millions for their schools, get a pittance in return and for that they should be grateful. Nonsense.
They said the same thing about the 2011 49ers. New GM, new coach.. new players. Not saying we are a similar team. Just saying it's the standard line...
ultimately football is a business. Byrd understands this and has a well respected agent. That some of his players have walked is unfortunate. As far as Jason Peter's, I would say based on his time in Philly he was not the great deal he thought he was. As far as Byrd, I wonder if he would really like to continue his career in Buffalo. Ultimately that might determine if he makes a deal or not.
Good points. I think we as fans don't keep always keep things in perspective. A player has only so many years he can and will play. He wants to maximize what he can make during those years. The team has to balance that players skill against their budget and other players demands. They will also consider how easy it is to replace a particular player. This is just a negotiation. Its not personal. That being said I would like to see Byrd and the Bills come to terms as soon as possible. It doesn't do anyone any good to draw things out. I think Buddy feels the same way...
I totally agree. I think it will be Barkley. Barkley is well thought of by Marrone. "If he doesn't like what's going on when they (take away) the deep vertical threats, he can come right back to the backs," Marrone said. "That's one of the things you see with the top guys in the NFL."
My take is that Marrone wanted the Bills. He wanted to come to Buffalo. No one begged him to take the job. I look forward to seeing what he can do with the team..
Many fans think our 4 appearances in back to back Super bowls were the crowning achievement of the team. I see this comeback win as even more significant.. It is a metaphor what the team, and area, are capable of.
This team has enough talent for a good coach to win. Gailey, who sports a worse w/l record than Jauron, is clueless. All this talk about continuity is noise. Three years should be enough for any coach to get things turned around if they know what they are doing. Gailey doesn't.
