Anyone got the 2025 schedule yet?
-
Completely agree. My hope is at least one of those replacements is already on the roster, in maybe a guy like Benford or Douglas, but either way, they need to get younger in their defense backfield and have holes they need to fill. Taron Johnson’s quickness won’t last forever either. They really need to hope the light can go on for Elam soon.

Right, but if we don’t have Bates, we still have to find someone and pay them to play Center. Bates is at a pretty good price for what we’d have to pay a decent center from elsewhere, unless we find someone in the draft. I don’t think we will want to re-sign Hyde bc of age and Poyer might be done too, but we will still need FS and SS replacements, so didn’t know if you had contemplated who that might be.

Who do you have as our SS and FS in your scenario?

I don’t feel it’s ALL on the defense and here’s why

The team just needs to play COMPLEMENTARY football, simple as that -
Norwood’s pass coverage range is pretty wide, right?
-
Nothing like signing two Tre’s, one a McKitty and one a Norwood for comic relief, when morale is low. Well played, Beane 😎

if this says anything, Gronk has gone on record to say he specifically would only unretire for one coach, and that’s Daboll. When asked about Buffalo and McD, he gushed at the thought of his hometown team but said nothing about McD. https://amp.foxsports.com/stories/nfl/giants-brian-daboll-only-coach-who-can-get-rob-gronkowski-back-in-nfl

Is Josh turning into a one read guy??
strive_for_five_guy replied to Bubba Gump's topic in The Stadium Wall
Or at least align the offensive playing calling and scheme to Josh’s strengths. That’s where Daboll may have been a great fit for Josh, b/c he knew how to better cover up Josh’s weaknesses. When even Cris Collinsworth is salivating at the Bills spreading out their offense and the Bills offense is moving effectively, that should be a sign of the direction their offense needs to go with Josh. You start a drive with a couple QB designed runs, it’s almost like it calms Josh down and it puts the opposing defense on notice. -

That’s been a knock on Josh since coming out of college. He’s definitely been more effective in his career when he doesn’t do this, but it’s a tendency of his that hurts the offense’s effectiveness. -
A Groot complaint thread was already started yesterday:
-
Kid was screwed by at least half this board and public opinion, versus letting all of the facts play out. If people don’t recall, Beane’s hand was essentially forced, some here saying he took too long to act.

There’s one guy only that Gronk said could talk him out of retirement, and that is Brian Daboll. He dodged a question of playing for McD, even though his eyes lit up about playing for his “hometown team”. Not saying we get Daboll to sign Gronk specifically, but does that say anything about Daboll v McD? https://www.profootballnetwork.com/rob-gronkowski-brian-daboll-possibility-trends/ Anyway, thought this was interesting, given where the team currently stands this season and the questions surrounding the coaching staff.

What do YOU think makes an Elite QB.
strive_for_five_guy replied to PatsFanNH's topic in The Stadium Wall
Some guys just have a presence about themselves -
Hyde’s contract will be up, so I presume this is it for him here. Wouldn’t surprise me if Benford is the eventual FS for this team. Poyer will have a year left on his deal, but he’s been a step slower each passing year. Haven’t seen anyone else on this team yet that I’d like taking on the SS role. Not sure if I want them to re-sign Rapp. Feel like I see him whiffing at a lot of tackles.

I would venture to say an older more frail person is more prone to future injuries than a younger person in mint condition. With that said, as I got older, I rolled my ankle less playing basketball, mainly because I couldn’t jump as high versus one point in time. But my effectiveness on the basketball court was also likely lower as a result, too.

Offensive Woes? Blame Dawson Knox (kind of)
strive_for_five_guy replied to theRalph's topic in The Stadium Wall
I agree, he does the same with Knox at times. Hopefully success with other guys like Kincaid, Shakir, etc. will teach him the benefits of not force feeding the ball, especially to guys with stone hands. Doesn’t mean Davis and Knox can’t have their moments, but Josh needs other/better options. Davis had one of his best nights against Tampa, but was seemingly aided bc Josh had these other receiving threats too. -
Was Davis hurt at the end of the game btw, or are the Bills maybe exploring Sherfield in there over Davis now? Thought Sherfield was on the field in place of Davis on the last drive.

Two TEs and one RB on the field, aka 2 WRs too. 11 personnel is one TE and one RB, aka 3 WRs too. -
McDermott answers why we stopped uptempo offense
strive_for_five_guy replied to Einstein's topic in The Stadium Wall
End of the game, they show Josh and Burrow shaking hands, and Josh covers his mouth to say something. If anyone has a photo, would be a great “caption this”. Maybe McD can call the offense and defense on gamedays?? 😂😂 -
Damn, hope Benford isn’t out for too long. Would be nice to at least have him back by the Chiefs game.
