  1. Maybe I’m missing it, but I don’t see where Davante is actually following Josh on his twitter.
  2. Week 3 is apparently our lucky number. This year against Jax was pretty solid too.
  3. The more palatable contract for Cooper alone also means the buyer pool can be larger as well, which can actually drive up the asking price on Cooper. Because of Adam’s’ contract, the pool of buyers for the Raiders is certainly smaller, unless either they eat some money and/or Adams is willing to re-work his deal. We know that the Raiders want to trade Adams and supposedly for a 2nd in return. We have no idea whether the Browns are actually selling yet, and if so, what they would want for Cooper. So if the Bills would be happy with either but can land Adams now for what they think is a fair deal, they should take the bird in the hand.
  4. Cooper has been in the league 10 yrs, and has 687 catches for 9,694 yards (14.1 Y/R) and 62 TDs. He turned 30 in June. Adams has been in the league 11 yrs, and has 890 catches for 10,990 yards (12.3 Y/R) and 96 TDs. He turns 32 this December, so a year and a half older than Cooper. I really don’t value the age gap to matter much at all, since both players would likely be one year rentals anyway. But, Davante has way more catches and TDs than Cooper throughout his career. Maybe that suggests he’d help us move the sticks more effectively and be a more dangerous red zone target too?
  5. If it takes throwing Elam into a deal to make a trade for Davante happen, you throw Elam in there. Davante would bring way more value than Elam ever will. Elam is insurance, Davante would be our WR1 immediately.
  6. If we trade for a WR, we’re cutting one anyway. And Elam is doing very little for that team too. So it doesn’t sound that crazy here.
  7. LOL. Would you have traded Diggs, Elam, MVS & a 5th for Adams? That’s effectively what the trade is in my mind, which I don’t think is that ridiculous. Elam and MVS mean very little to this team, and Diggs obviously wanted to be elsewhere.
  8. And Elam still hasn’t sniffed the starting lineup. Why would you hold onto him, when your WR corps is suffering and you have a chance to land someone like Davante for the rest of this season?
  9. If the players were Elam and one of our WRs, why not?
  10. https://steelersdepot.com/2024/10/schefter-davante-adams-trade-unlikely-to-occur-this-week/ Here’s how Davante is traded to us by next Tuesday: 1. Raiders beat Steelers 2. Bucs beat Carr-less Saints 3. We pound the Jets It will then be clear to Davante that in terms of winning, Buffalo should be his preferred destination. There’s one less week of salary to figure out then too, although Vegas will still need to absorb a good amount depending on if his deal is reworked in some way. Only question is if we pound the Jets, will we have less urgency to trade for him then?
  11. Maybe BBB said we’ll give you one of our 2nd rounders, but we’ll need you to work with us on the cash piece. If no one else is willing to match a 2nd rounder, give me a call. That would be an offer and then monitoring….
  12. Perfect, see you next season!
  13. In other news, TBD users currently monitoring the situation too
  14. Right, and Pickens is a head case, last thing I’d want to add to our WR room. If Steelers traded for Adams, it’s to add to their WR room, not to then trade away the best young talented WR on their team. I think BBB has told the Raiders he’s willing to part with one of our 2nds, but he’s going to need their help on the cash side. And has said if you don’t get a 2nd rounder from one of these other teams, give me a call.
  15. I actually think the D has more upside than downside. We’ve been battling the injury bug, but hopefully getting Rapp and Taron back this week. Not sure about Oliver, and we know Milano is going to be awhile. Von will be back after the next 3 games. Meanwhile, we’ve got some younger guys (Dorian, Carter, Bishop) that have lots of room to continue growing and getting better. Granted more injuries a likely still ahead, but in a month, it’s possible we’re feeling really good about this D and just waiting on Milano to be back.
  16. Not sure what the 2026 conditional 3rd would be dependent on, but I would at least consider the 2025 2nd if they can make the salary cap numbers work. It’s essentially us trading Diggs for Adams at that point, aside from whatever their contract differences are beyond this season.
  17. I’m high on Bishop’s athleticism, but letting up big plays isn’t going to help him earn the starting gig over Rapp. As much as I can’t stand Rapp’s wreckless hits.
  18. Has anyone pointed out where Davante Adams grew up and played college ball? Played high school ball in the Bay Area, about two hours from Firebaugh. Then played college ball at Fresno St, about 50 minutes from Firebaugh. Josh just needs to make a little Northern California pitch to Davante and convince him that Buffalo is where he wants to be. The GMs then figure out all the numbers - Boom, welcome to Buffalo, Mr. Adams.
  19. Irony if Davante ends up with us because the Chiefs injure Carr.
  20. Does Saleh have magic healing powers?
  21. That didn’t take long 😆
