You seem to be skeptical of the incident and the family’s motives, in part because of what you claim is lack of police involvement. I agree the incident isn’t to the level of something extremely horrific, likely factoring into the family’s decision to not file a police report. I just don’t think the family is being devious with their intentions at all, and if people want to contribute to the girl’s GoFundMe, why is that so bad?

Well what’s Dad gonna do, chase after the perpetrator down the slippery stairs in the upper deck, to then do what? The police would have filed a report, but the family decided against that. Maybe they just wanted to get home at that point and not have to deal with all of the follow-up, realizing their daughter luckily only had bruised ribs? To the extent people decided to contribute to the GoFundMe, why do you care? It’s their decision where they put their money.

The various news outlets have just done a poor job of outlining what the family says happened. If you listen to the father and daughter’s interviews combined with the Facebook posts, the story adds up.

Where did only the mother say the child was pushed down the stairs? You realize the father and mother share a Facebook account, right? Who says it wasn’t the father that made the Facebook post? If you listen to the father and daughter’s interviews across the various local news networks, the family was on the stairs leaving at halftime of the game. A person behind them said “I’m going to push through these 49er fans”, and proceeded to push past the mom, dad and eventually daughter when he knocked her down the stairs, which luckily sounds like she didn’t slip too far. If there’s a gripe to be had, it probably should be with the reporters, as it took listening to like three different news stations to actually get a clear picture of what the father and daughter are saying happened. And at this point, I agree that any of the news stations using language like “a member of the Bills mafia” did this are the ones using the inflammatory language. But I disagree with blaming the family for commenting on their bad experience.

So because they chose to not file a police report, they’re making up the story? Maybe they didn’t feel the need to take it that far with the perpetrator, just wanted to get out of there and get home at that point. I’ve had things happen in my life where I chose to not file a report, for one reason or another. The father sounds surprised this story has even hit the news. My impression is they were posting on Facebook about their family’s experience at the game (many people post their experiences on Facebook), and the fact they noted their bad experience including their daughter getting push over has given the story legs. Now some are thinking this family has ulterior motives, which I don’t believe is the case when I listen to their interviews.

The press is just trying to report the story. If they wanted to report the worst, they’d gather the perpetrators name and shame him. But I’m sure they’d give the perpetrator air time if they wanted to say anything about the incident. After listening to the father and daughter’s interviews, it sounds like they were first being targeted with snowballs in the first half because they were 49er fans by someone behind them. When they decided to leave at halftime and were on the stairs, a drunk fan said I’m going to push through these 49er fans. Proceeded to push by the mom and dad, and then also knocked the girl over/down when he went by her.

Depth, just in case someone gets hurt. Plus the leadership aspect. As another poster pointed out, we only have three true safeties on the roster right now.

If we can square it up with the Chiefs this weekend with four games to go, look out!

Where is WKBW making Bills fans into monsters? Link? I think most objective and rational people realize one drunk idiot doesn’t equate to every single Bills fan. In addition, we all mistakes, so even the drunk fan may not be a bad person, just maybe used bad judgment in the situation.

Who’s to say that other grown men didn’t intervene in some way, and/or did not witness exactly what happened? Police were notified of the incident, the family just chose not to press charges. Maybe the drunk guy looked like Brock Lesnar, and other grown men figured notifying security was the better move rather than having an MMA fight in a slippery stadium and potentially injuring themselves, getting kicked out of the game, ending up in jail, etc. Just because we here on TBD don’t have all of the specific details of what everyone around the alleged perpetrator did or didn’t do, doesn't mean an incident didn’t happen.

This makes a lot of sense here. I personally think we match up pretty well against their passing game, with Benford/Douglas following Nacua and Taron on Kupp. Even if Kyren gets decent yardage on the ground, thinking it won’t be enough to keep up with how much our offense puts up against them. If our D-line gets some decent push, could be a long day for the Rams.

Exactly. In the story told by the dad, this drunk guy wasn’t a saint. Everyone gets that accidents happen, especially with the slippery weather. But this guy wasn’t walking through, saying “excuse me”, apologizing to the girl after bumping her. If it had been a polite encounter, the family wouldn’t have felt compelled to post about it on Facebook afterward.

Great post, mostly spot on except Allen did lose the one primetime game against the Ravens. But that aside, he’d still win MVP as of today. I agree the Barkley narrative will likely continue to get stronger. Aside from the Steelers, he’ll be facing some of the worst rush defenses in the league the rest of the way. As long as he doesn’t get injured, he’s probably got a really good shot at passing Dickerson’s rushing record. If that happens, Josh will also need to have closed really well, in order to hold off any narrative in favor of Saquon, although that may still not be enough.
