Coach Campbell discusses having Allen’s Baby
strive_for_five_guy replied to Mikie2times's topic in The Stadium Wall
Anyone that thinks this is real is an idiot 😆 -
I mean, Barkley is on pace for 2,050 yards, and the record is 2,105. And he plays against three horrible run defenses these last three weeks. So could definitely seem him still doing it. That said, even if he breaks the record at this point, I don’t think that’s as impressive as what Josh is doing. Would be pretty annoyed with any voters that think just bc Barkley breaks the rushing record against crappy run defenses and in 17 games, that makes him the MVP. Even Dickerson wasn’t MVP in the year he set the rushing record. Edit: Sorry bro, just re-read what you’re saying though. Totally get your point about defining the rushing record on that per game basis, in which case OJ’s numbers are arguably the REAL record. That’s a great point.

If Tre were still on the team, I’d be curious what he would say about the vibes now versus before. I really think with Josh now as one of the unquestioned leaders (no Diggs interference), there is a much more positive vibe altogether. Being positive and resilient is just Josh’s natural style, which does differ from probably McD’s own tendencies in moments of adversity, but it all seems to be really working at the moment. Resiliency is one of the key factors for how the 90s Bills were able to make four Super Bowls in row, and probably why a lot of us Bills fans are so passionate about this franchise and that hope to one day bring home a Lombardi. Even McD is doing snow angels these days and effusively praising Josh’s play, so maybe even he realizes how much Josh’s leadership style is working.

Between that story, Diggs’ departure, people calling Josh overrated - This team has definitely rallied since late last season and carried it over even more this year.

Why hasn't the Samuel signing worked?
strive_for_five_guy replied to GASabresIUFan's topic in The Stadium Wall
And this has been the working theory since around when the season started, with Samuel essentially confirming as much heading into the bye week. -
Yea, just saw this. Greeny’s opening about Josh is really good though. Some of these guys have to be getting told to offer the contrarian view, just for the sake of discussion.

LOMBARDI: your current odds
strive_for_five_guy replied to Italian Bills's topic in The Stadium Wall
Right, if we were already playing in the SB and playing someone like the Eagles, our odds might be 45-55%. But we likely will have 3 playoff games too, which our odds of winning each might be 75%, 65%, 55% (for example). That would give us roughly a 12-15% chance of winning it all. Well, and keep in mind, the house has juice in all of those odds. So DraftKings actually figuring lower odds, but then adding in their juice. -
Bills to debut a new uniform combo - red on white

The thing I’d forgotten with AP’s season was his QB. It was Christian Ponder. Meanwhile, Saquon obviously has Hurts and even AJ Brown to take the heat off of him. I’ve heard even the media generally recognize the talent around Barkley. I’d been concerned if Barkley breaks the rushing record that he’d still the MVP from Josh, but I think the Bills would also have to finish worse than the 2 seed now too. Josh would have to give reasons to lose it now, AND Barkley break the rushing record. If we just beat the Pats this weekend, it’s almost a lock then that we’re the 2 seed or better. And by the time we play the Jests, we’ll know if we have a shot at the 1 seed still or not. If at some point it’s clear we’ll be the 2 seed with no chance to get the 1, McD would be smart to sit Josh, at which point Josh’s case will rest. If we’re able to actually land the 1 seed, that just further solidifies his case.

Barkley wasn’t even in the game multiple times when the Eagles were at the goal line yesterday. They can score just as easily or better with Hurts there, and have other options as well. Does that sound like a MVP? Meanwhile, we’re probably one of the best red zone teams in the league, but it’s all because of the various threats that Josh poses.
-
We will still have a shot at the 1 seed this week AND will not have the 2 seed clinched, so need at least play to win this week against NE. That will get us to 12-3. Then the PIT/KC game on Christmas will be huge in terms of deciding if we have anything to play for against the Jests and Pats* in our last two games.

Any injury updates? (update: everybody's getting better)
strive_for_five_guy replied to Simon's topic in The Stadium Wall
Glad to hear they’re not getting worse -
And don’t think him and Amari aren’t great examples for a young guy like Keon to emulate. Imagine a mix of Mack & Amari, because that’s what I think Keon can be before all is said and done.

Best Player in Bills History
strive_for_five_guy replied to Kirby Jackson's topic in The Stadium Wall
It’s Josh. If you trade Josh & any of our DEs from today’s team for Bruce & Kelly from the 90s teams, we have a Super Bowl already. -
You could make this argument against any other player in the league too. Who has been more impressive than Allen, this season? Some could claim Lamar, but he’s got 5 losses to Josh’s three, so by the argument you’ve laid out, that’s even less impressive, right? The current 1 seeds have 3 losses all season, two of which are to the Bills. And Josh is clearly playing at a level unforeseen in the NFL. He would need a complete meltdown in these last three games to not win the MVP, regardless of what anyone else does.

It feels like he’s playing at the New England perfect game level, for multiple weeks in a row now.

We have Josh Allen. That’s the only D we need.
