  1. I think a good modern example of a QB where things weren't working out in their initial NFL experience is Vince Young. But that is not to compare him to Losman...in the sense that even when Vince doesn't play well at QB, he still has the "it" factor to win games. Still think Losman "could" be a serviceable NFL QB, in the right system and with good supporting personnel. Depends if he has truly matured, learned and settled down at all. The guy always seemed to have a nervous energy about him, rather than a confident, positive energy.
  2. Yea, after that guy said Revis is overrated, I ignored everything he said after that.
  3. I agree. For all the stupid mistakes JP made in his young career, the "supporting" cast around him wasn't much help, outside of maybe Lee. If you look at the best offenses and QBs, they are surrounded by strong offensive lines and/or an array of WRs. The entire Buffalo offense has been nowhere near good consistently for at least five years. The way Edwards "won" the job over JP always irked me, because he was winning against marginal teams and hardly the reason for a lot of those wins. A lot of people forget JP made great strides 2006 and how 2007 began. Game 1 was the Kevin Everett/Denver heartbreaking loss at home. Game 2 was against a hungry Pittsburgh D at Pittsburgh, which is not easy for the best of QBs. Game 3 was at NE where JP was knocked out early by Wilfork. Edwards then led the Bills to wins against several bad teams (Jets twice, Balt, Cincy, Miami) and losing that infamous game to Dallas, winning the starting role b/c the team was winning. Based on pretty much two games of JPs play in 2007 v. Edwards in 2007, Jauron went with the QB he drafted. If anyone has faith in Jauron's judgment at this point you're crazy. JP played worse in any game time action he saw since then, playing in an offensive system run by idiots. Bottom line, JP got the short end of the stick, yet bit his lip for the most part through all of that. So far JP's plan of resurrecting his career by playing a season in the UFL under Fassel is working out, though... http://sports.espn.go.com/extra/ufl/news/story?id=4346612
  4. Are you forgetting that Fitz was the main QB in three other games earlier this year (NYJ, Car & Houston)??? In the six games that Edwards played the majority of, TO was targeted 29 times, catching 15 balls. In the five games that Fitz was the QB, TO has had 42 targets, catching 25 balls. So, regardless of who the QB has been, TO has not caught half of the passes thrown to him. It just so happens that Fitz has been throwing to TO more, about 8 times per game v. 5 times per game. Another thing to figure is that each defense the Bills have played may have been playing TO differently. TO's big week against Jax (9 rec, 197 yrds, 14 targets) could be a large result of what the Jax defense was showing - I haven't studied the game tape so I couldn't tell you that one. Source of the stats is rtsports.com.
  5. Agreed, Wood definitely opens up some big holes. Don't worry folks - Wood will be back up and at it before we know it.
