Bills win and clinch the 2 seed on Sunday, it’s going to Josh.

Allen actually does have performance incentives surrounding winning MVP. That said, his easiest path to finishing it off right now is just making sure the Bills get the 2 seed or potentially better still. And I’m sure winning the SB would trump any bonus of winning regular season MVP aware.

I get this point, and if it’s close, that’s where as a voter I’d go Josh too. This point aside, I think there’s lot of valid reasons that Josh has earned it this season anyway. One thing he does that isn’t necessarily reflected in the stat sheet but impacts the W/L column are those 1 yard runs to keep drives moving. Not sure how much Lamar is similar from that or not. But to the extent voters have valued wins over stats alone in the past (ie Lamar over Josh last year), one more reason why 12-3 Josh gets the edge over 10-5 Lamar, in my book.

I agree, I’m like obsessed with it at this point. Can’t wait for it to be decided with soon enough.

Anyone thinks there’s a chance that Josh wins MVP, while Lamar wins OPOY? Lamar is putting up some incredible stats this season, although arguably not as valuable to his team as Josh. As a consolation prize, could Lamar beat Saquon out for OPOY?

Still too early to say. Both the NFC South and NFC West are up for grabs too, with losers likely not making it into the playoffs. Even Philly technically hasn’t wrapped up the NFC East, although I’d expect them to do that this weekend against Dallas. Seattle @ LA Rams could be for the division, for instance, if Seattle beats Chicago this weekend and Arizona beats LA. That’d be the win and in deal just like Texans/Colts last year, where the game doesn’t impact other teams’ chances of making the playoffs.

If the Colts, Bengals or Dolphins still have a shot to make the playoffs pending the outcome of the Broncos/Chiefs game, those games will either be at the same time or BEFORE the Broncos game. Just like in your scenario with the Bills game, if the Bills have a shot at the 1 seed, their game will be at the same time or BEFORE the Broncos/Chiefs game. It keeps viewers interested for longer. If the Colts are out of it before they play Jax, who will actually watch that game? But if the Colts still have hope because the Broncos haven’t clinched yet, the NFL can drag out the viewership.

Acho, one of the voters, still has Josh in the lead (just after the 12 minute mark). Sounds to me so long as Bills take care of business for the 2 seed, Josh will get the nod in his book, even though Lamar has put up crazy stats as well.

Right, that is exactly why the Broncos/Chiefs game won’t be on Saturday. You’re giving the reason why that game needs to be the same time or AFTER those other games, so I don’t understand why you keep insisting it could be on Saturday night.

We will see. As for Saturday night though, I don’t see a scenario where the Chiefs/Broncos make it there. Yes it could be win and in, but the outcome potentially impacts a few other teams, in which case the NFL won’t place the game BEFORE those other games. Texans/Colts was win and in last year, but the outcome didn’t impact any other teams.

The NFL likes the Sunday night to be win and in even more. Last year it just so happened there were multiple win and in games. Yes, Vikings/Lions is a great matchup and should have playoff implications, but it won’t be win and in. Probably a better Saturday night matchup.

Ok, maybe you don’t understand days of the week then. Sunday night is when the NFL likes the win and you’re in situation, it’s way more dramatic than if it’s on Saturday night BEFORE all the other games are played.

Are you still talking the Saturday night slot for Chiefs/Broncos? Why would the NFL put that game on Saturday night, if the outcome takes away any drama for the AFC WC spot on Sunday? The Colts game could be meaningless the next day then, which the NFL and viewers don’t want.

Right, but if Bengals also beat the Steelers in Week 18, then Colts win the tiebreaker. If the Chiefs/Broncos game is going to determine the fate of AFC WC and maybe 1 seed, it will either be Sunday at 4:25 or the Sunday night game. Not Saturday.

So you don’t think the Broncos could lose to the Bengals this week, and Indy to beat the Giants? That’s all it takes for Indy to be live heading into Week 18.

Agree we’ve already talked enough about Bills and Chiefs on that Saturday, especially since it won’t be happening lol.

Thing is, even in the Ravens win on Sat, Derrick Henry had the bigger night. And Marlon Humphrey bailed Lamar out for that red zone INT. So in a week where Josh was off, I don’t think Lamar even made up that much ground. And like the panelists are saying, if the Bills can rest players at some point bc their seeding is locked in, the chase is pretty much done then IMO, bc Josh has finished his test early with great marks, while Lamar would still be trying to finish his.

We get the 2 seed, Josh wins MVP. Whether that’s via Lamar losing on Wed to Houston, or us beating the Jets next weekend, that’s all that has to happen at this point. Doesn’t even need to be pretty now.

If the last AFC WC spot is still up for grabs heading into Week 18, the Broncos game won’t get flexed to Saturday night. It could take away any suspense for other teams like the Bengals that would still be vying for that spot.

If Broncos loses to the Bengals this week, no way their game against the Chiefs is flexed to Saturday night, given it will have implications for the 1 seed and WC then. I’d see that game as either 4:25 on Sunday, or even Sunday night. Agree that Bills/Jets would make sense to go first or at same time.
