The window dressing theory has crossed my mind too. Similar to this writer’s theory with the Giants, Beane may have just hosted OBJ as a courtesy to the likes of Von, without a super strong intent to sign unless being blown away.

I don’t disagree that if Diggs gets hurt, our WR room takes a huge hit. I guess I had always looked at Stevenson as a flier, and when Shakir was drafted, we had already found an “upgrade” (not saying much). So I’d already accepted that he was a 6th round miss. I’m still hopeful that Shakir can eventually develop a role in the offense, but he’s definitely not where I figured he’d be by this point in the season. Whether Shakir and Davis show further signs of development or not, I do think the Bills need to find another WR weapon in next year’s draft.

Maybe we’re saying the same thing then. I don’t see how Thomas ends up on our team and/or is able to help the Bills this season…

But Adrian Peterson was playing at an All-Pro level a month after tearing his ACL, why is OBJ not recovered yet?

If Cooks or Thomas were actually cut, why would other contenders pass on these guys through the waiver process before we had our shot?

Looks like some have already said it, although I could see the Pats or Jets taking a flyer on Mayfield before he gets to the 49ers via waivers…

Right now, we just have to keep winning. If the Chiefs and Bengals find a way to lose one more themselves, we get a little cushion. Either way, we have to win the next two division games.

If we have any hope of earning the 1 seed, we’re going to need to beat Miami and win the division regardless of whether they win today or not. That’s why for two games out of our control today, if only Chiefs or Miami lose, it’s better if the Chiefs lose.

I’d love it if Beane’s philosophy is we got a couple million freed up to spend on a WR for this year’s playoff push alone. If you don’t want it OBJ, that’s fine, we have other options to spend that money on.

This is true, Diggs’ stats have been way down since joining the team.
