  1. He played well coming off the injury last year?? must have been watching a different team then b/c he was a liability out there when he had the club on. he's discounted b/c he was the 10th overall pick and he doesnt make plays. gamechangers come off the board in the top 10...he isnt one. this game isnt about technique and closing speed, its about making plays that change the game. and how do you know he has better technique? because the guys on WGR say so? and how do you determine closing speed? cuz im pretty sure mckelvin is right on par speed wise. What has this guy done to earn this respect? intercept an underthrown pass from mike glennon last year? he must look great in practice b/c hes average at best in games. did you not watch the rookie kelvin benjamin and markus wheaton smoke him in the little action he played this preseason?
  2. If Gilmore even plays.....has he ever shut down anyone? NO. so if it happens it'll be a first. and wallace isnt half the player marshall and jeffery are..
  3. I thought McKelvin played extremely well considering who he was tasked with covering (Marshall and Jeffery). He slipped on the Marshall TD and got beat, that happens especially against that monster. And the perfect throw from cutler when jeffery got behind him....2 plays...keep in mind mckelvin barely played in the preseason due to his offseason surgery. other than the 2 plays i mentioned, he was stellar. tackling was his biggest challenge in this game and he delivered. chicagos receivers are 2 of the best in the game and they are both much bigger than Leo, so did he allow catches? sure, but he brought them down immediately. Corey Graham had a great game. IMO this conversation should be shifted to Graham starting over Gilmore. For 2 straight years i have listened to fans and media tell everyone how good Gilmore is and basically saying hes a sure fire pro bowler....We are in year 3 now and i have not seen it. not even once. i think hes the most over-rated bills player since schobel. and hes soft. you dont draft a guy 10th overall to be average. Graham is making more money and hes better, so he should start opposite Leo. Gilmore hasnt earned anything.
  4. Last year was Leo's 6th season in the league and he finally had a decent year. and it just so happened to come in the same year that the team set a franchise record for sacks. a couple of years ago he was called a "bust" all over this board. The only reason he got a new contract is because of his returning abilities and possibly our horrible lack of depth at the position. The guy had 1 pick this year...1 and people are acting like hes a stud, please...he had an above average season, yes. but to act like to Joe B is crazy for saying Robey is #12 on his list shows how much you know. whoever posted this and claimed the outside corner position is much more demanding know absolutely nothing about defense and probably didnt play past high school. The nickel corner has way more reads to make depending on the offensive formation, whether someone goes in motion, etc. sometimes they end up covering a TE, sometimes they basically become an OLB and are forced with taking on blocks from tackles, TE's and FBs...the fact that Robey came in undrafted and played the way he did is astonishing. The closing speed and playmaking ability that he possesses make him an extremely valuable player in this league. and to make light of his game changing sacks by saying that he is supposed to because he is lined up closer to the QB is the most idiotic thing ive ever heard. he still has to beat a 6'7" 350lb tackle....the reason they never asked Leodis to blitz is because he isnt great at it...Robey is. And billybrew1 saying that robey got beat all day against cincy??? did you watch the game? b/c i saw our #8 overall pick, Mr Gilmore get abused all game because he had the club on and cincy exploited him by throwing screens at him all day, he couldnt get off a block to save his life. i dont blame him i blame the coaches for putting him out there with such a disability. anyhow, joe B is the best reporter that WGR has by far and by ripping him for giving his opinion is not only weak, its dumb because the arguments you are making against his opinion are simply wrong. try again.
  5. Went to a coaches clinic about a month ago and both the DBs coach and WRs coach said the same thing about him. "not just saying this bc he is on my team but Stevie Johnson is best in the NFL at getting off the press." They actually went on to say that when they coach press drill in practice they ask Stevie to sit out bc they dont want to mess with this technique. it isnt text book or anything, it come naturally to him. They said its Stevie and Larry Fitz being the best two in the league with Stevie being a little better actually. thought that was really interesting.
  6. No way this is true. http://profootballtalk.nbcsports.com/2011/04/20/agents-panthers-respond-to-mallett-report/
  7. The fact that whitner is 9th in the league in tackles proves nothing other than the fact that our front seven is garbage and donte is tackling running backs after huge gains......he is terrible, don't even mention him and p willis in the same sentence......and if your not listening to the "whitner bashers" don't post anything about that joke of a safety........he looked real good against LT and the jets a few weeks ago
  8. That "guy" from the ravens you are referring to is Dwan Edwards and he is a sure fire starter at DE opposite of Stroud. And im not sure yet where the new coaches see kyle williams playing this year whether it be DE or NT. It would be huge for us if he could get bigger and man the NT spot which would allow us to totally focus on the offensive side of the ball in the draft. And has anyone else heard the OT Gaithers, another guys from the ravens, in trade rumors with the Bills???
  9. I wonder how many of you Vick haters would welcome in Tebow with open arms for a 2nd or 3rd rounder?? If we could get Vick for a 4th we would be stupid not to bring him in to compete for the job. He is undoubtedly better than our Qbs now and due to the fact that our offensive line is horrendous we need a guy like him that can scramble and make something out of nothing. Nobody on here is saying that the bills should live and die by this guy. We are talking about a second day pick. If it doesn't work out we would have hopefully still drafted a LT, NT, LB or whatever else you think we need. If he gets hurt, then Trent will step in with plenty of experience under his belt, besides the way it looks now he is our starter anyways. Nobody is saying that he will make the pro-bowl or that hes a great guy, what they are saying is that given the state of our franchise, he would be an improvement, give us some long awaited excitement and most def sell tickets much like TO did last year......And if you think these owners and GM's give a damn what kind of bad things hes done your sadly mistaken. Big ben is now facing his second sexual assault related issue........much worse than makin money off of dog fighting. They care about selling tickets, making money, and winning games.
  10. Iupati is a guard, we need a true left tackle......so maybe take one of the LT's in the first and Iupati in the second, then Tebow gets left out, oh darn
  11. Thank you! I thought I was going crazy for a second after reading all of these posts. Byrd is our FS and the only competition is between Whitner and Scott for who will start at SS. They will both play depending on the down and distance. In the 3-4 robber scheme, which george edwards is known to run, the SS usually gets after the qb via this zone blitzing scheme which IMO Whitner is better suited for. On the other hand Scott is the bigger, more physical player who is 2x better against the run.......they will both play but the edge goes to Whitner because he's the guy that they are paying all the money to. And if he bulks up a little bit i think it'd help in in the run game.
  12. My reasoning for mentioning Schobel is probably the same reason that you said that Lynch was overrated.....I just don't like the guy. My girlfriend used to cut his, and his sons hair in OP and she would come home and tell me how much trash that he would talk about the Bills, Buffalo, and his teammates. But that is insignificant in this discussion. So I will that that he is not a terrible player but I do feel that he is very overrated and definitely over paid. He the best game of his career this year in week 1 against new england, but other than that he has always padded his stats in situations that we meaningless to the outcome of the game. Like this season when I think he had 2 or 3 sacks against Atlanta, after the route was complete. He lost way to much weight and is well below average in stopping the run, although i do give him credit for hustling after the back gets to the 2nd and 3rd level to make tackles.....but that's not what he's paid to do. He makes around $8 million a year to be a speed rusher that constantly over pursues and allows the quarterback to step up in the pocket easily. I know that he has good numbers but we all know stats can be deceiving sometimes and in his case they def are. There are several other DE's in the league that make the same money as Schobel (or at least in the ballpark) that I would rather have...........And of course this doesn't matter now with the 3-4 being organized. We would actually benefit if he retires. There is no way he can play DE and I highly doubt that he can make the switch to olb this late in his career or that he even wants to.
  13. This is by one of the worst arguments that i've ever read on this site......for you that say that marshawn cant push the pile is absolutely ridiculous. You can probably count on one hand the number of time that he was taken down by one guy or after first contact. His character and all the dumb stuff he says and does is irrelevant and has no purpose being brought up in this argument. We literally had one of the three worst offensive lines in the nfl since we drafted him some of the worst play calling ever seen. I mean AVP went from coaching the UB quarterback one week to being our offensive coordinator the next. There are so many other players that warrant the "overrated" comment...(Whitner, Peerless Price, Ruben Brown, Aaron Schobel) just to name a few......This guy is so young and still has a lot of growing up to do but he hurts defenders on just about every carry and wears them down. But if you all do get your wish and we ship him somewhere else with a decent running game you will be sorry.........Also nobody mentioned Shawn Bryson
