They were both great running backs, Joe Pa used Franco more of a blocking back than runner which he was good at. Mitchell reminded me a lot of Tony Dorsett but he never reached his potential in the NFL while Franco of course became a HOF. I'm not sure teams were looking for versatile runners in those days--strong hard nose runners were part of football. I had the pleasure of watching Jim Brown in college & with the Browns. I guess I'm old school cuz I miss that part of football. Also Cookie Gillcrist was one of the best running backs I ever seen but he was a free spirit & I don't think he took care of his body like the modern players.
They both look pretty good but they are high light videos. I think Edmunds is pretty good but with our cap situation I don't think we can afford to resign him, we have too many other needs. Milano is 1-A and Edmunds is 1-B.
I agree with this, also the Cowboy teams were some of the strongest teams ever due to the Herschel Walker trade which allowed them to stockpile a wealth of young & talented players.
There does seem to be problems with this defense playing too soft in pass coverage. I'm sure both Frazier & McD are both culpable. I don't think it's wise to panic & fire either at this time especially with all the coaching openings going on. However Bean should address this with them & bring in an assistant coach who can teach more press coverages to our DB"s
This is true. Another important factor was Lenorad Smith an excellent safety was injured & couldn't play. Giants QB Hostellier got away with a few ducks that shouldn't have been completed.
I would like to draft a good center & move Morse to guard. If he has concussion problems next year we have backup guards & still have Bates for the backup center.
I won't be surprised if the Bills run a little more in the !st half & put pressure on Borrow & see how it goes. Then if the 2nd half we'll unleash our passing game when needed.
Well, if there are any old videos out there you can see that the Bills played them tough & kicked the go ahead field goal late in the game. Penalty flags came out & they made the Bills kick 2 more times I think. There used to be a clip of Reggie McKenzie looking at the ref's in disgust. Good old NFL at it's finest.
Thanks for that info, didn't realize that---I thought cuz I was older it just took me longer to pee & restock the coolers. I remember back in the day, they used to talk about Joe Gibbs making great half time adjustments.
I liked him also but he seemed to be injured a lot when he was here & there reports that he was slow. Well slow or not Dabol knows how to scheme him open. Not sure Dorsey could use him properly. Also all glory is fleeting--defenses will start to pay more attention to him as opposed to the other receivers.
Well I see your point but they allow one hand catches & one hand deflections. Speaking of blades of grass did you see the game where Romo & the Ref king went on & on about the bubbles or whatever they called it on the turf ?
The NFL has changed rules over the years to allow for more scoring, I dont know why they don't go to the college rule of one foot down on the sidelines. Seems like it would allow more catches & cut down on all these reviews.
I agree his contract should have been worked out. Last I heard Lamar pulled the plug on contract talks when season began. Maybe if they offered a new\good contract he would except. I think the Ravens will be sorry that they didn't get a deal done this year.
