  1. Look, I love McNabb, but lets be realistic here. Their offense didn't put any points on the board, their defense played well, much like ours, and McNabb's 15-32 didn't have anything to do with Dallas losing that game. Interestingly enough, Dallas lost because of a bad coaching decision, followed by a horrible decision by Tashard Choice once he got the ball. Lets be serious here, Shanahan's coaching had nothing to do with that win, and honestly, looking at the stats, there is very little difference between our game and the Skins game. We played a team that didn't make a stupid mistake, and that is all.
  2. Love it up here, only problem is how long the drive is out to Wegman's, which is the only place I have been able to find Blue Light around here). Been to Tunnicliffs, consider me a fan. We live on the other side of the market (block from the metro). There is a newish place called Molly Malone's (irish pub) that there were a bunch of us who would go watch the games last year. Their Buffalo wings aren't great, but they make a mean Old Bay wings.
  3. Will be watching the games from my couch in Eastern Market. Unfortunately my house charges a cover (only payable in Labatt Blue Light). More than welcome to stop by
  4. Sounds like Sparano has fallen victim to one of the classic blunders. All he has to do is divine what he knows about Gailey, is the the type of coach to run the wildcat.
  5. I am impressed with how we looked, and have been impressed with Trent this pre-season and really hope it translates to the regular season. I don't get your comment, because if he had chosen not to throw that pass to Evans, and only thrown the safe passes, then he "doesn't trust his receivers." Trent took a shot, trusted Evans to make the grab, and it worked out. To say that since it "could have just as easily been an interception" is the case with most shots that QB's take, and it's actually the reason he has looked so much better, is because he did trust his receiver to make the catch.
  6. While I see what you are saying, the intermediate stuff usually comes after you can back the DB's off a bit. So it's not really fair to be expecting the intermediate 15 yd completion, when he really only had the chance to throw 12 passes in those two games. In both of those games, he completed the long ball, which would soften the defense up a bit, and then didn't really have another drive to show whether or not the intermediate stuff would be there.
  7. I refuse to believe that Mark Sanchez is better at QB than anyone but possibly me.
  8. You realize your scenario there would have us playing at least two games in December that would actually mean something? You wouldn't want to see meaningful football being played in December in Buffalo for the first time in 10 years?
  9. The bottom line is he did complete that pass. You have to take his game at what it was, not "well if this didn't happen then my point would make sense." I mean, if you are going to discount that pass, you should be counting the pass that Edwards dropped right on SJ's hands and he dropped (interference or not, gotta catch that). Any "ifs" change the entire game, so that mentality is just pointless.
  10. And if Norwood hadn't missed a field goal we would have won the Super Bowl. Still happened, can't discount it.
  11. This is the dumbest thing I have read in a while. You can't evaluate how a QB played, and then say, well if you take out one of his 5 completions, he played like crap. He threw eight passes, completed 5 of them (should have been six, as the downfield shot to Johnson should have been caught, interference or not), and was willing to throw the ball. I don't really care who our QB will be, as long as they make the games interesting this year, but to evaluate a QB's play based on, "well if you take out 1/8 of his performance, it sucked" is just plain stupid. Brohm played a good game, but Edwards did too, and for all of the bad games that he plays, he should get some credit for this game. I am so tired of hearing everyone saying "oh he never takes shots downfield, and he only checks down." Then he takes two shots downfield, and people ignore the pass that he put right on SJ's hands, and then say "well it was blown coverage, so I could have made that pass." Its just dumb, and it isn't an honest conversation. BB had a great game, unfortunately he did it during a game in which Edwards showed a few flashes of what he could possibly do if he had some confidence.
  12. Bills are the home team. Home team always get 3.5 pts in the spread.
  13. That's funny, he didn't look Drew-ish.
  14. John Madden everyone, here in the flesh!
  15. Know its a hike, but love how easy it is to get in and out via metro.
  16. I would like to commend your intuition as it looks like reports are he will sign today. Well done.
  17. Live in DC and will be there, as well as going up to the Baltimore game. Sec 221 Row1, can't wait, don't get up for many games anymore.
  18. Hate the Yankees, but RIP George.
  19. I heard it showed up missing right about the same time he couldn't find any of his twenties.
  20. I have seen this in a few different places, why does everyone believe that Colt Brennan is in the CFL. He is under contract with the Redskins and was injured all season, after a somewhat impressive pre season.
  21. He isn't saying start him, he is saying let him compete. I think when you look at the start he had last year (he WAS throwing down field, he WAS throwing with accuracy) before the concussion, he looked like he could be a middle of the road starting QB. I think that the worst thing that we did with our QB situation however, was to come out during the offseason and announce who was going to start for us. All he is saying is it doesn't cost anything to let him compete.
  22. I definitely agree that none of the QB's we have had were Pro Bowl quality, or even top end QB's, I think with the exception of Bledsoe/Flutie, you are making a chicken and egg argument. We as fans, and our organization, are so trigger happy to run a QB out of town and get the next guy in, that we have never developed a QB. We got lucky because the UFL did it for Kelly, but it could be argued that if we had a coach who actually knew how to develop a QB, they wouldn't suck. Now these guys would still be all limited by their potential (I think they were all starting QB caliber, though it would have been as a middle of the road starter), but we will never really know the full potential as we have never actually developed a QB. Most QB's take a few years of starting, or better yet sitting and learning from the sidelines, but we never give a rookie QB time to sit and learn from the sidelines. I agree that it is probably time to get Trent out of here, I still think he has the talent and is just screwed up in the head, but I don't think that its so much that we haven't had real QB talent, as we haven't had any coach who knows know how to get anything out of his QB.
  23. I fall in the its not lame category. However in all fairness, I am currently DVRing the Senior Bowl practices so...
  24. The reports yesterday were that he was simply imposing his will, and was immovable.
