MaGahee...still got the stiff arm
Jay4481 replied to throwbackbilly's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
+1 He's a Douche but that play was pretty....and yes, we definitely want him running all over NE next week. Hopefully the Dirty Birds are looking for sweet revenge for those ticky tac Brady calls and pound them to dust. -
I don't know what you guys all think of Chris Brown, but it seems to me like he asks questions to get real football answers out of somebody. I listen to a a lot of questions in these pressers from the local Buffalo media and they seem so superfluous to me. CB seems to take it easy on them (the Bills) most times, but his questions usually incite good answers. Am I on an island with this one? Of course, no one could hold a candle to the late, great Tim Russert. Man, he was always good for a great interview

Has anyone seen Jimbo's portion of the presser yet?

Yeah I was thinking the same thing....I thought it was a little odd that they took questions too, but it makes me think that there is way more to this going forward. I hope that is the case. If Nix turns out to be a good fit, we land the right head coach, and a succession plan is announced this will be the most significant turning point in franchise history IMO. Let's just hope this whole thing finally works out for the better... -
Seriously, who knows how all this will pan out with Nix and the next coach and everything. Either way I love seeing JK up there supporting the Bills. He was very candid about a lot of things, and had a really nice comment about the fans and how we keep up the support even in tough times like this. He seems to be genuinely excited about the Nix hire and the future of the Bills. He also said that absolutely believes we can end up with a top tier coach...Cowher specifically. My favorite thing he said was in regards to the new decade starting. He said that people have talked about GB, NE, etc. being Teams of the Decade and this decade will be the decade of the Buffalo Bills. Sentimental, I know, but I love this kind of stuff... http://www.buffalobills.com/media-lounge/v...b0-bf425b721369

Bobby April is already the Assistant Head Coach of the Bills....

The Chargers did NOT draft Rivers
Jay4481 replied to Coach Tuesday's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
"Super Bowl aside" I'd say that's a pretty big aside...As of right now, the biggest difference between Eli Manning and Philip Rivers is that one is a Super Bowl Champion and the other isn't. Now that very well may change soon, but I'm just saying.... -
I apologize, I know there are a few other Weis threads going but I want to hear from other ND fans specifically. How do you guys feel about this? When I first saw the news it literally made me sick, but I have had a day to digest and I am a little closer to the fence than I was yesterday. Obviously we can all agree his tenure in South Bend was bad. Bad game management at times and poor defense were definite downsides. He has had great success in the NFL offensively though with the late 90's Jets and the Pats SB teams. He seems to be specifically good with QB's. I am sure he'd at least consider trading for Quinn for the right price or drafting Clausen. Bringing in Crennel as DC would bring the 3-4 with him. That could be good but it will also set us back even more since the current roster is not built for it. I was just really looking forward to a new season next year where my two favorite football teams would be cleaning the slate with new coaches. Now this...ugh.

I was at that game. I was living in MA at the time and I went to Buffalo with a bus full of Pats fans. It was easily one of the best sporting events I've ever been to. We looked invincible out there. Even the Pats post game comments made them sound so confused and defeated, especially Brady. After we beat up on Jacksonville the next week I thought we were on our way. It wasn't until the Monday night loss in Miami that I thought we might be looking down the barrel of some offensive struggles. It hurt to be right, and the struggles continue to this day... I really can't believe we didn't win a damn thing with Jerry Gray's defense from that era. We had P. Williams, big Sam Adams, Takeo Spikes, Schobel, Clements, Winfield, Fletcher, Milloy, etc. With even a serviceable offense like the Ravens SB Team we should have been at least making the playoffs. Ugh...and not only did I have to endure a 6-10 finish but I also had to put up with everyone giving me s*** in MA when they came back and beat us 31-0 in week 17.

Two tickets I can't use tomorrow
Jay4481 replied to Tortured Soul's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Its hard to tell with all the drift...the wind is blowing like crazy. It's gotta be over a foot by now though. -
There is nothing more exciting to me than hurting the Pats' chances for the playoffs/division. They've walked all over us for the better part of a decade and it's time to put a stop to it. I know the draft is important going forward, but so is getting this monkey off of our back. Like it or not, many of our current players will be on the team next year. Beating the Pats in an injury plagued season with an interim Head Coach could help build some confidence. Especially since we handed them the game in their own house in the opener. GO BILLS

Hey Soul, where you at man? I'm in Colts Neck, and we are BURIED. -
....apparently with the injury to Gradkowski, Davis wanted to add a veteran QB to the roster. Oh well, I wish him the best.

Why the fixation with hiring a big-name coach?
Jay4481 replied to PromoTheRobot's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
I would also favor an HC/GM hybrid if it was someone like Cowher/Shanahan/Holmgren. I just want accountability at the top. We need the RIGHT GM to put the RIGHT people in place, but it starts at the top. Hopefully Ralph does the right thing this time. -

PTR...one of the best posts of the year brother. It all starts with the new GM. I don't care who he hires as long as it is the right man for the job. -

I think Florio is hilarious actually. Do I rely on his "expert" analysis? No, but he (and his site) are damned entertaining. I just wish we weren't such a f***ing joke to everyone...

Straight from the Q/A with Mike Florio.... 9:31pm ET - Mike, who do you have as this years sleeper playoff team? Not sure yet, but every year there's a team that emerges from the pack in late November and/or December and surprises us all. 9:35pm ET - That sleeper team Mike, is the Buffalo Bills. The question was sleeper team, not comatose team. I'm not saying Florio is football's Confucious but I'm not sure our national image can get much worse...what did someone say earlier? The Oakland of the East?

With the Bills doing so bad this year

A Saints/Colts SB would be something to see...if they are both still on their game by then. -
Down goes Brady!!!!

Marv is in one of those beer commercials for coors

Yeah it's great nostalgia to see him on the sideline, but it's not as funny as some of their other ones.... -
It's nice to watch a good offense operate, until it makes me realize how inept we really are...
