  1. Here's the key words- "we have a lot more free weights" machines have a very limited usefulness, the more the work load is stabilized and limited to one plane of motion for you the less benefit it has for you athletically, trainers went with more machines because they wanted to eliminate any injury while training but it's counter productive because the machines don't build all the little stabilizing muscles and the strength of the bones and joints themselves.

  2. Longevity is overblown, It's not like the old days when you owned a player for his career, you lease them for four years then have an option. on the other issues I'm generally a proponent of taking good big men over good little men but turnovers are gold, INTs and FFs are game changers, and anyone who can generate them on a consistent basis is worth much more than traditional positional values would indicate.

  3. does anybody watch game film on players before they do thier mocks. bulaga and williams are right tackles, and davis is a 50/50 shot.

Yeah I do watch film and read- some say Williams and Bulaga are more suited as RTs and some say Davis shouldn't be picked in the first round, and some say Williams could be the first OT taken, and some say that Campbell is really the prototype OT and some say he's just a workout warrior- and some say that Charles Brown is the best pass blocking LT in the draft and if he shows that he's gained bulk and strength during his pro day that he should be the first OT taken- I say, and that's what really important is at this moment they fall like this- Okung, Bulaga, Williams, Campbell, Brown, Davis- after Brown and Davis work out March 30 and 31 they will fall Okung, Brown, Bulaga, Williams, Campbell, Davis.

make sure you are getting every veteran benefit you are entitled to

suck up your pride and get all benefits for low income or disabled you are entitled to

    join a church

make a list of every skill you have

make a list of everything you'd be willing to sell

Good luck and remember you are not alone

  5. J.P. and Trent both have pretty big flaws but very different flaws- like dumping the wild chick who trashes your life and then dating a girl who's so boring you want to slit your wrists. Also when we had J.P. I think there was a debate about how good was the rest of the offense- I think that debate has been answered, it's pretty poor- our best players Evans and Jackson probably don't break top 16 in their position and you really don't want to think about where our #2WR, TE, FB, OL would rate.

  6. I doubt these picks will be there in our picks but

    1. *Bryan Bulaga Iowa LT LG

    2. Charles Brown USC OT

    3. Tim Tebow Florida QB

    4. *Linval Joseph East Carolina DT43 DE34

    5. Tony Washington Abilene Christian OT

I know that's a lot of OTs and a Boon bust type QB but a ten year fix on the OT position would be sweet, and as a 3rd rounder Tebow's upside far out weights the risk.

  7. Don't want to give to much credit to players ratings but George Wilson was rated as the 4th best safety and was the highest rated Bill (I didn't check punters or kickers)- so I would be a little surprised if he's not one of the starters- I suppose it could happen for salary structure reasons.

  8. my draft

    1. Trent Williams OT

    2. John Jerry OG

    3 Koa Misi OLB

    4. Tony Washington OT

    5. Ed Wang OT - I think ED Wang will be cured of limp play if he gets Wood with Levitre

    6. Marshall Newhouse OG

    6. BPA

    7 BPA

    7 BPA

I get complaints that my draft doesn't address the OL enough but thats the risky gambler I am.

  9. There are some sights that are clearly fanboy message board geeks and have no basis in reality.

The one sight that recentely popped out that I found pretty insightfull is http://www.nfldraft101.com

The writers seem to offer a little more insight.

    Other sights I frequent

    WalterFootball.com

    TheHuddle.com

    KFFL.com

    fantasysharks.com

fanball.com used to be good but it went downhill recently, I think it was bought out and the new group doesn't seem to care but there fantasy draft guides have still been quality (2/4 championship games,3/4 playoff teams,)

    footballguys.com does some cool stuff.

Alot of the sights are fantasy football focused but most do Mock NFL drafts.

The same nerds that are focused on fantasy football are focused on Mock NFL drafts.

Not very scientific I just looked at my RSS feeds and bookmarks.

http://www.nfldraft101.com has been shooting up the charts.

I happen to hope that this mock comes true:

    http://www.nfldraft101.com/mocks/90/1/Chri...ing_Combine.jsp

thanks I checked that site and it does seem a cut above - I hope the draft works out that way- I see Bulaga going instead Haden and us getting Williams but I'd rather have Bulaga by a tiny bit.

  10. Edwards and Fitzpatrick are at best game managers- I think on any good team Edwards is a second string guy who could come in and not lose games- I don't like Fitzpatrick as a starter and have serious doubts about him as a backup, Brohm is an unknown but it's not like he showed signs of greatness in his debut- but all of these guys would have been helped by better line play, smarter play calling, and better hands especially T.O. ( the guy can get open and he's dangerous with the ball in his hands but he had some of the worst drops I've ever seen)

  11. Yes the Bills are going to suck in the up coming season - at least I hope so because next year we have to get a quality QB and you need to have a very high pick to have a good chance at that- This year we desperately need to get quality players for the OL, and DE line- the first pick should be a OT and the next 4 divided between OL and DL- after that LBs and WRs become the order of the day- in addition the Bills should do anything in there power to amass draft picks- Kelsey, Schobel, Stroud, Williams, Lynch, Whitner, would all be up for trade consideration for a reasonable offer in my book- they either don't fit well in the new schemes, are too old to be of help in 3 year when we should reemerge, Lynch while young has a style of play that ensures a short career, Whitner is too well paid to be a backup.

  12. My collected info on Trent Williams. I'm feeling better now.

    --three-year starter for the Sooners.

    --#10 on CBSSports BigBoard now

    --second-fastest 40 among all offensive linemen (4.88)

    --the top vertical jump

    --third-longest broad jump

--Fires off the line and dominates when drive blocking

--Turns his man whichever way is needed and sustains the block.

    --Nice lateral movement

--2009: 885 plays and 102 knockdown blocks; 2008: 131 knockdowns, with 18 knockdowns in BCS title game vs Florida

--2009: Oklahoma attempted 476 passes, became the highest-scoring team in the modern era (702 points).

--Williams was the only returning lineman this year but was still named All-American (with Okung)

    --Patient; gets comfortable in stance

    --Light on his feet

    --Great balance

--Wasn't asked to pull or trap, but is mobile enough to be effective sealing off the MIKE linebacker

--Good burst off the snap to run block, and latches onto his man immediately.

--Reaches linebackers and safeties at the second level quickly off the snap.

--Gets hands into the jersey and moves his feet to drive the man back.

--Sets quickly after his kick slide on both the left and right side

--Will be more consistent protecting on the right side

    --Instinctive; counters moves well

    --Nice stunt/blitz awareness

    --Effective hand punch

--Shows ability to handle elite speed off edge

--Looks for secondary targets to block downfield when needed.

--Unselfish player who works hard on the field and in practice.

    --Plays through minor injuries.

--Returned to school despite being a probable second-round pick in order to return to the BCS championship and complete his education.

--NFL Comparison: Jammal Brown, New Orleans Saints

Told you this about three weeks ago glad to see you caught up- the new news is that Trent Williams is going from undervalued to overvalued- Okung and Bulaga are better players regardless of absolute athletic ability - also the finale rating of OTs will not be decided until the end of March when Charles Brown and Davis will work out in front of scouts- Davis needs a good workout to stop his slide to the 2nd round and a great workout to get back in the 10-15 range- Charles Brown can jump all the way to the 2nd OT taken if he can weigh in at 305+ bench 25+ and still look athletic at the higher weight- Brown lacks the position versatility of Bulaga and Williams but being able to play LT at an A-A+ level trumps being able to play across the board at a B-B+ level.

  13. Just to repeat, since this stuff gets lost in long threads ...

Bell was the single worst tackle (the site ranks right and left tackles together) in the league, according to profootballfocus.com, when he was put on I.R. And the second-worst guy was far, far better. It is a cumulative site, adding points for good games and subtracting points for bad games. When Bell stopped playing, he was still the worst for another three weeks or so before some other bad tackles caught up to him.

Bell only played in eight games, so he only had half the chance to rack up negative points that the other tackles in the league had, yet at the end of the year he was still 74th out of 77. And two of those guys just managed to squeak past him in the last week. On that site, zero is average. Bell's total was minus 26.4, and two guys tied for 75th at minus 27. The guy in last place, Mario Henderson of Oakland, had a final score of minus 38.9, far outpointing all other tackles.

But ... Mario Henderson played in all sixteen games. Bell only played in eight. So actually, in terms of who got the most negative points per game (an excellent functional measurement of pure badness), Demetrius Bell was far and away the worst tackle in the league.

    http://profootballfocus.com/by_position.ph...&numgames=1

True but if you look at all the positions you'll find we sucked across the board- Bell ranked 74 , so did Levitre, Wood wasn't much better at 65- Hangartner is at the bottom of his position too. So you should agree with me that we need to draft at least 3 OL with ourfirst 5 picks
