When the Wheels Came off in 2009
....lybob replied to Gabe Northern's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
What I don't understand is why get T.O. if you're going to blow the OL apart- why not see if Steve Johnson had anything to offer, of course I've had hundreds of questions like this for the Bills over the last 10 years. -
The redistribution of wealth works....
....lybob replied to Fingon's topic in Politics, Polls, and Pundits
Did you read the article? the farms were bought not taken- I want you to argue against all redistribution of wealth not just the most recent examples but all forms- some people want there to be no historical context to anything, do you argue that the Jews have no right to reparations because that is a redistribution of German wealth- If Madoff was found to have undiscovered wealth should his victims have no recourse to it because that would be redistribution of wealth? And lets talk about all the redistributions of wealth like Social Security running close to a 3 trillion dollar surplus that was borrowed by the general fund and probably won't be paid back - like the Fed buying Mortgage backed securities at full price when they were probably worth less than 35 cents on the dollar- lets talk about that rural salt of the earth Christian farmer with his seven kids- with farm subsidies, grants, mortgage tax break, church deduction, 7 child tax deductions, 7 kids in public schools costing $10,000 a year each, and the redistribution of money away from that childless couple renting an apartment. There is all kinds of redistribution of wealth going on and sorry if you are Middle class and have less than 4 kids you are probably getting less than you put into the system, yes you are being screwed but think of it this way if you become very poor or very rich and you can reverse the screwing or just have lots and lots of kids. -

Powell should have been our first Black President but Cheney screwed him. -

sarcastic and ridiculous but no more stupid than the original post which starts this thread. here try this on for size you don't like unions? then don't try to treat workers like expendable beasts of burden you don't like OHSA? try not to poison, burn, mangle your workers you don't like a countries theocratic totalitarian government? try not over throwing their democratic government. you don't like busing? then make sure your separate but equal schools are actually equal don't like 30 years of affirmative action- don't discriminate for a hundred and ten years a simple rule you don't like blow back then don't f#@% with people in the first place- do on to others as you'd have others do on to you- it's a good rule and it's going to save you a lot of grief in the long run. -
You might be right or it may depend on the field- I don't think they were hiring anyone on the internet just using it as a screening device- if you are lucky or good enough to receive a call back you are going to have to get through 2-3 interviews before you are hired - 12 years ago it was my experience that you could call and get an interview setup- this year they seem paper adverse, phone adverse, maybe even conversation adverse (presentation yes, dialog no)- one of the organizations I had visited on computer a couple weeks before and couldn't make the fill in the blank part of there pdf application work so I asked if I could just copy the application, fill it out and either bring it back or send through the mail- the lady said yeah a lot of people have that trouble but we don't take applications through the mail, try different browsers and make sure your adobe reader and flash are the latest.

The whole higher education system has to rethought- there is a trend where the rate of return for a college education has been shrinking and for some degrees has gone negative, any parent and student should think hard about investing $40,000-$100,000+ dollars . I don't think the every child must go to college model is applicable anymore, some should go to college, some should learn a trade, some should work and get a college degree online, some should try a small business where succeed or fail they are going to learn as much as any college.

To be fair though there are a lot of companies who will only engage you over the internet at least initially - they don't want to meet you, they don't want to talk to you over the phone, they don't even want to receive anything from you by snail-mail. I went to a job-fair where they didn't want resumes, had no applications to fill out, everyone gave a brief overview of their organizations and directed us to their websites.

deleveraging is a painful process.

Just goes to prove that in terms of happiness, trajectory means more than absolute position- in a land where the expectation is that every generation will do better than the previous generation, there is probably going to be a widespread psychological depression until people realize that such a expectation was never realistic over the long run in the first place.

For Jackson to imply that Dan Gilbert is a racist is wrong- he should have implied that Dan Gilbert is a butt-hurt little cry baby whiner. Remind me of the company executives who fire anyone for any reason and then write butt-hurt articles decrying the lack of worker loyalty. -
Oakland bracing itself for possible riots

most/all U.S. law enforcement have the round chambered and ready to go - still he brings up his left hand like he's starting to chamber a round- I got to believe one of three things 1. he shot Oscar grant intentionally even though he was surrounded by witnesses. 2. he mishandled his gun by forgetting he had one in the chamber and having his finger on the trigger 3. that he mistook his pistole for a taser even though the taser is drawn from the opposite side, has a totally different grip, and is half the weight and he brings his left hand up even though the taser is fired with one hand. What I think happened is that he drew his pistole forgot he had one chambered for a 1/10 of second, then remembered he had one chambered stopped the action and let go, because he had his finger on the trigger instead of along the guard he misfired- personally I think a misfire is somewhat less retarded than the I mistook my pistole for a taser defense but the taser defense relieves him of any misconduct questions from drawing his pistole in the first place. -
Schobel - why not try and trade him for a late round pick?
....lybob replied to ACor58's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
For all his flaws Schobel still got 10 sacks last year so I think he still has value as a pass rush specialist for the next couple years - Amobi Okoye is supposedly out of favor in Houston and he is coming into camp lighter 283 which may make him a candidate to play 3-4 end. -

....lybob replied to WisconsinBillzFan's topic in Politics, Polls, and Pundits
Racking a round in and with bullet already chambered can cause an accidental discharge. You look at the tape and he has both hands on the gun you'd only have one on a taser- it's too fast to see well but it looks like he's holding with his right hand and pulling back with his left and then is shocked that the gun discharges. Again it's hard to tell but he would have to have been on total autopilot to mistake his pistol for a taser. -

If people like OCinBuffalo don't want to engage Muslims well C'est la vie but the Chinese will have no problem engaging them. -
1. There has been a trend to global warming in the last 30 years 2. Whether this is a cyclical or linear event is unknown 3. We do not know if this is a man made event or a natural event(sun cycles, magnetic field changes, volcanism) or combination of the two 4. If man made we don't know if it's due to fossil fuel burning, deforestation and desertification, or livestock agriculture I'm less concerned with global warming than energy independence, energy security, breaking national defense with the ideal of global control/defense of oil, peak oil, and reduction in local pollution.

I don't think he mistook a pistol for a taser, I think he forgot he had one in the chamber and had clumsy hands. -
I agree in the short term from a coaching perspective I'd rather have 5 solid guys instead of 2 great players, 1 solid guy, and 2 weak sisters- but from the long term GM perspective I'd like the later because it should be easier to replace the two weak sisters with solid guys than to replace two solid guy with great players.

Might be about the FBI trying to be relevant before funding decisions are made- or could be they wanted to make an exchange and needed something to exchange- usually if you know about a spy ring and said spy ring didn't really have the ability to get vital information, the last thing you'd do is bust them, you'd use them to spread disinformation. -

Thanks grammar policeman, btw maybe "Or somebody that doesn't Know when to use worse versus worst" is what you were trying to say.
