I think they are still a year away but they do have some talent- I think they still need a workhorse back and a little more talent on the Oline.

you might be right but I think you are missing another trillion in costs (homeland security, increases in intelligence agencies budgets, increases in military budget non war related, foreign aid/bribes, medical costs for returning vets) caused by 9/11.

I don't think the problem is this year, even if they had made all the right moves this off-season I think they would have been a poor team this year, but I have serious questions about whether they have set any foundation for next year or the year after- they needed to increase the talent level of the offensive line and QB- Spiller may be a fine player but a situational running back is not part of a quality foundation, more like putting fancy rims on a junker.

"We, alongside the mujahedeen, bled Russia for 10 years until it went bankrupt and was forced to withdraw in defeat," bin Laden said. He also said al Qaeda has found it "easy for us to provoke and bait this administration." "All that we have to do is to send two mujahedeen to the furthest point east to raise a piece of cloth on which is written al Qaeda, in order to make generals race there to cause America to suffer human, economic and political losses without their achieving anything of note other than some benefits for their private corporations," bin Laden said. Al-Jazeera executives said they decided to post the entire speech because rumors were circulating that the network omitted parts that "had direct threats toward specific states, which was totally untrue." "We chose the most newsworthy parts of the address and aired them. The rest was used in lower thirds in graphics format," said one official. U.S. intelligence officials Monday confirmed that the transcript made public Monday by Al-Jazeera was a complete one. If Schobel plays for NE, or Seattle then the whole "I'm doing it for my family" thing was a complete sham- if Schobel had been ultra cooperative in the salary department we probably could have traded him for a low draft pick 5th-7th but that would have cost him as much as a 1/2 to 2 million dollars depending how many seasons he plays 1-3. BTW I'm not mad at Schobel because the truth is unless he was significantly better than our other OLB candidates he would have been cut or a least asked to take a large pay cut.
