Adam Schefter: Redskins to fire Zorn
Las Vegas Calling... replied to ThreeBillsDrive's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
I don't think that Zorn will go from HC to at QB coach. With that said, Zorn can't be worse than what we currently have (no disrespect intended AVP). -
This is why Bill Polian has a policy to sit his starters when one of his teams have either clinched a playoff spot or have clinched home field advantage. Now the Pats are down one of their key players with the playoffs starting next week. Not that watching the Patriots lose will be a bad thing.

Well thought out post. Injured players need to be given their money in order to obtain their degrees.

Will Josh Reed's career mirror Andre's?
Las Vegas Calling... replied to BillsWatch's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Funny post. I saw Andre Reed play, as well Josh Reed. I knew how Andre played, I saw how Andre played. Josh Reed, you are not Andre Reed. -

Trent Edwards as backup QB????
Las Vegas Calling... replied to billsfan960's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Let him go. He will probably sign as a back-up somewhere. Good luck to him. Trent's time as a Bill is over. He has lost his confidence. The back-ups for next year will probably be Fritzpatrick, Brouhm, and whatever vet the Bills sign or whoever they draft. There is no room for Trent on the roster. -
Look, 1st off Ralph has a history of hiring people that he is comfortable with. He was burned with his hiring of Donahue, who was an outside hire (by outside I mean people that Ralph has delt with in the past). In his hiring of Nix, at least the Bills organization has someone with actual football knowledge and has a track record of success. I feel more comfortable with Nix as GM than I would be with Guy, Mordek, Brandon or RW. As Bills fans, all we can do now is wait to see what Nix does as GM. Let's hope that this works out. Go Bills!

With our new GM wanting a big, rough team
Las Vegas Calling... replied to scribo's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
I don't think that Nix is a fan of the Tampa -2. I would love to see a bigger, rougher, tougher defense next year. If we switch to a 3-4, our ends are way too small. That's the biggest reason I hate the cover 2; small players. If you have the right personnell, it works ala Tampa (when they won) and Indy. Our linebackers seem to be on the smallish side also. With the offensive problems the Bills have also, it will take a few years to get this ship in the right direction. Still, the Bills have rebuilt with worse teams in my lifetime, so it's not an impossible task. -
Excellent Nix interview

I will be extremly happy is the Bills ditch the Tampa-2. Hate it. -

Ten Years Ago This Football Week
Las Vegas Calling... replied to Dave_In_Norfolk's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
If I remember correctly, the game meant more to the Colts than the Bills. Johnson started in place of Flutie because the Bills traditionally rested the starters when the team had clinched either a playoff birth, or did not need to win any more games. Plus, Flutie's arm was getting tired. Johnson had a great game, and Ralph ordered Wade Philips to start Johnson. The thought process at the time was Johson had a cannon for an arm, was young, and "fit the mold for a qb in the NFL". I must admit that I was a Johnson supporter (even though I wanted Flutie to start againts the Titans) and my wife was a Flutie supporter. Boy was I wrong! -

What if the Colts backups smoke the Bills?
Las Vegas Calling... replied to zow2's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Bill Polian is so far ahead of any one at One Bills Drive, that his back ups are better than our starters. Count on the Colt's secondary destroying the Bills starters. And nothing will happen as a result. We will be forced to endur anther rebuilding project with a new set of loser GM's, Scouts and bargin basement coaches. The losing will continue.... -

There are no positives this year friend. Part of being a Bills fan is to joke about how bad this team is. -

The Bills are so bad that TO became boring! -
who on this team would you keep
Las Vegas Calling... replied to Jeffery Lester's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
I agree with you, except I would place Maybin, Nelson, and Stupar on the roster as back-ups until they prove themselves to be given a chance to become starters. I was thinking about this on my way to work today, and I believe that you need to get red of the players that are used to the culture of losing. Based on the team's overall performance, I like how your list is small. Most of the current Bills would struggle to make most teams 2nd or 3rd string. This team is horrible. The only recent teams that were worse was in 2001, and 1984-85. -
This makes no sense

Just another example of why RW needs to clean house. The "inner circle" need to be sent packing. This decade makes me look back fondly at the 70's.
