  1. I don't know how it could have possibly been a penalty. He clearly lowered his shoulder into the shoulder of the receiver. No helmet/neck, or lowering head into him at all. We were arguing this at the bar I was at. I'd say we were split 50/50 but I'm sorry after watching the replay it looked clear as day that it was shoulder to shoulder. But I'd say the roughing the passer on the next drive was a definite make-up call as the hit on Orton looked clean.
  2. In looking at the fact that the Chargers out-played us this year whereas we had every opportunity in the world to beat KC I think it's better that we will end up playing them.
  3. Just like teams who win games due to an easy schedule will tell you "we can only play who's on our schedule" I say we can only beat the players they decide to put in against us. We won at NE, and while yes it would have been much more satisfying to beat NE in a meaningful game with Tom Brady in the entire game if this is the best I can get I'm happy with it. Go Bills!
  4. Senior in HS working at Wendy's trying to sneak glances past my managers on a little snowy TV in the back room (mostly used for training videos). I saw the "winning" field goal then went back about my day. It wasn't until my shift ended and I got home that I found out the real ending.
  5. I recall KC going to San Diego on the last week of the season last year playing all 2nd stringers (including Chase Daniel) and very nearly beating the Chargers who were playing a win or go home game.
  6. Not a fair comparison. We were at home when EJ played Miami and on the road when Orton played them. Orton may not have put up crazy numbers in those games but I'd be willing to bet EJ does something to throw those games away. It may not have been much but Orton was an upgrade from EJ.
  7. 2011 Colts pre-Luck = 2-14 2012 Colts with Luck = 11-5 2011 Seahawks pre-Wilson = 7-9 2012 Seahawks with Wilson = 11-5 Need I say more? Definitely Luck
  8. Say what you want about Orton. I know he wasn't great but I still say we don't beat the Lions, Vikings, or Packers with EJ. I know Orton didn't do a lot in the Green Bay game but I feel like he managed it just barely well enough to help our defense win which I'm not confident EJ would have done.
  9. He ran well behind some pretty bad offensive lines here (not to mention QBs who were so bad that defenses stacked to stop the run knowing they didn't need to worry about the passing game). The trade was a huge mistake.
  10. Agreed, I was a little irritated when the Colts got to draft Andrew Luck. Having Manning and Luck plus playing in a division full of teams that don't know how to get out of their own way means we will probably continue to see them in the playoffs every year for the next 15 years as they have been for most of the previous 15.
  11. What gets me on the 3rd and 22 conversion is if we only rushed 3 where in the world was the safety help on the deep ball? I thought that was one of the reasons why you would only rush three to make sure no one gets deep with one on one coverage?
  12. Is this going on the assumption that Denver will lose to Cincinnati tomorrow clinching home field for NE before next week? Or are you saying that NE would beat us with their 3rd stringers?
  13. I know a lot of people are sick of hearing the ref bashing but that's not what I'm doing I am just baffled by this particular call. Earlier in the 3rd Qtr today Derek Carr launches a pass way out of bounds from inside the pocket facing pressure and the ball was no where near a receiver. I ask, how was this any different than the intentional grounding called on us against Miami that was ruled a safety? Not sure who all caught that from today's game as it sounded like nothing was really said about it but it left some people in our Bills bar questioning it. Anyone know why these were called differently? Again, not dwelling on the officiating, just confused by this one.
  14. As much as I want to say snoozefest, boring, blah blah blah, in years past a week 16 game between the Bills and Raiders would have probably been just as irrelevant.
  15. The Raiders did win just a couple of weeks ago at home over a 49ers team built similar (strong defense, sputtering offense that sometimes relys on the running game but doesn't have the QB to carry them). Also, we haven't won in Oakland since 1966 (although I guess that's irrelevant since those were different players and coaches). Dare I say, could this be a trap game for us? We are set on the NE game being the one we have to win to have a shot at the playoffs and we overlook Oakland? I think we win but close: Bills 20-13
  16. I'm no accountant but I think there's a pretty big gap between paying players a few extra million and making all games, food, and beer free.
  17. I think it should depend upon how the game is going. If we are barley doing anything on offense and then down like 10-0 in the 4th quarter we finally kick a field goal then no we should not (we certainly shouldn't if we are getting blown out). But if we are winning by say 2 touchdowns and it adds to our lead in the 4th or something then yes.
  18. To say we were lucky is ridiculous but here's what I will say: We complain about officiating working against us so much that I think it's only fair to respect the fact that we got some favorable officiating today. It looked like we got away with some PI/holdings in the secondary. Most notably the second interception. I didn't see it very clearly but it darn sure look like we mobbed their receiver well before the ball got there causing the ball to bounce up for the pick (can't remember who the WR/defenders were other than Rambo was the one who intercepted the pass). I just thought it was fair to point it out but at the same time calls have gone against us enough that I won't lose sleep over a game where we may have gotten some favorable calls. Go Bills.
  19. I bet my friends back in Buffalo that the Bills would have a losing record by December.
  20. Call me crazy but I still like RGIII and Nick Foles. But if we do go after either one we better upgrade the o-line.
  21. I have to respectfully but strongly disagree with this. If anything I feel like I have seen the exact opposite. With the inaccurate throws that have come his way in his young career I feel like I see him catch passes that many other receivers would have given up on (passes thrown behind him, over-thrown, etc.) I've really liked him and I think of all the rookie receivers he's had the worst passes thrown to him. But I'll admit I haven't watched enough Tampa or Carolina games this year to say that with the utmost confidence.
  22. I don't think it would be a dis on Schwartz but I agree he may see it that way. But also remember after Cowher left the Steelers instead of promoting an experienced Dick LeBeau to HC they hired Mike Tomlin and he's seemed okay with that.
  23. While I would have like to have seen him go for the first down instead of giving up the other thing that gets to me about this play is even if he isn't going to try for the first down why didn't he at least throw the ball away? At least then it would have been 4th and 1 and would have given us a better shot to go for it. Instead when he slid down it took us back to 4th and 4 I believe. I'm thinking the only reason you call a pass play on a 3rd and 1 like that is because your are expecting to go for it if you don't get it on the 3rd down pass play. Losing 3 yards takes that option away. Overall horrible play by Orton.
