I was proud to be a Bills fan a couple of years back when I saw a Patriots fan and his son sitting a few rows down from me and a Bills fan near by politely warned him that they would be yelling and cursing a lot in front of his son. Thought it was a friendly gesture to let him know instead of just going up to his face and being a jerk. This was a few rows up in the endzone under the jumbotron. I haven't been to enough games to know if that's supposed to be a friendlier or typically more hostile area.
Very true but Tennessee's offense was pretty bad last year with Mariota being the only real notable difference this year. But I agree, we won't know for sure until he's played more this season.
I'll admit I had higher hopes for Hoyer. He had absolutely NOTHING to work with in Cleveland and actually won some impressive games last year (Steelers, Bengals). I'm not expecting Mallett to do any better.
I like the fact that Tyrod didn't feel the need to force it to Sammy. The one time he did he almost threw a game-changing interception. I hope he learns his lesson from that.
If we have a big year then I would say this is up there. But if we flop and don't make the playoffs or do anything this year then this is nothing more than maybe a nice win. I will say that this win had a different feel to it. I felt like up until we took the 24-0 lead and our defense played off on the next drive we had them completely over-matched.
BTW, Rex became the first ever Bills coach to win his 1st game. Previously Bills coaches were 0-17 in their 1st game as Bills head coach.
This^^
there were awful calls but that phantom facemask was horrible. What made it worse was not only was there no facemask found on the replay on us but Hughes was clearly held and that didn't get called. Practically gave them one of their touchdowns.
1. College football isn't just a quarterback sport.
This! This! And more this! It gets irritating seeing teams like, well, Buffalo struggle for years to get competitive because we can't seems to find that right QB only to see a team like the Colts get the first pick in a year when a rare sure-fire QB comes out. Now only because of that one QB pick they are SB contenders while we are still fighting to become relevant.
Is he a Ravens fan? They seem to have it in for Matt Ryan with the comparisons to Flacco since they came out in the same draft and how because Flacco won a superbowl he's automatically better than Ryan blah blah.
I'd say it's about right, even below the rookies. There is a reason Winston and Mariotta were drafted 1 and 2. They are coming off great college careers and have become immediate NFL starters while TT is coming off 4 straight NFL seasons as a backup where he has just now finally become qualified enough to be a starter somewhere. Not saying he won't be better but given the little bit that we have to go on at this very point in time I think it's accurate.
Doesn't really fill me with much hope given the fact that Karlos has been hurt and hasn't played since and Bryce fumbled away our game against KC last year.
While I agree I definitely think playing CB for Buffalo back in McKelvin's early years was considerably harder considering we didn't have nearly the pass rush we have today and the safety help was Whitner.
AFC:
Bills vs Jaguars
NFC:
Rams vs Redskins
Superbowl:
Bills vs Rams
That's right, move over Packers, Seahawks, 49ers, Patriots, Steelers, Broncos, Ravens..... it's time for some new blood.
While I was upset and still am and I initially thought it was a bad move as the day has gone on I'm seeing more and more why it was a good call. While he had a really good run on that first play on Saturday he definitely looked very slow on that run on top of the fact that he had gaping holes to run through. It really was starting to look like he was slowing down and it might be time for some young legs to take over. Bronson Hill and Cierre Wood looked solid IMO.
This is almost going to bring a dark cloud if we do end up making the playoffs. If we do I would have wanted Freddy to be a part of it. I hope a strong contender picks it up. He deserves at least one season with a contending team.
