Very well said, I would also throw in that I believe this means a number of the players who've been ripped on all year (Tyrod, Darby, Gilmore, etc) are doing a better job than people are giving them credit for.
Been rooting more for the Ravens lately. Here's why, if we can beat the Steelers in a couple of weeks we get the head-to-head tiebreaker on them whereas the Ravens already have that tiebreaker on us. Therefore, in that scenario, it would be better for us if the Ravens win the division and we are competing with the Steelers for the wildcard rather than the Ravens. If we lose to the Steelers then honestly our playoff hopes might be finished anyway and therefore who cares who wins between the Steelers and Ravens.
Typically I can just say a win is a win with just about any lackluster win. But when you add in the fact that we needed favorable officiating to barely beat Jacksonville that just makes it hard to be excited. But, hey, we are still alive for at least one more week.
I think if Seattle hadn't started playing as well as they have been in November it would have been possible however even it that was the case they probably would have flexed the Giants/Steelers game instead.
As 10-6 teams have won the super bowl I would say it would make for a pretty solid season. Disappointing to not make the playoffs but still a good season.
I recall watching parts of the Skins/Bengals game and it looked like he got basically no protection whatsoever. And yet he still nearly led them to a win. Just imagine if he had a line. I'm sure the Skins will find a way to sign him long term but if they don't I'd be all for it.
Have to disagree. The 2014 defense was great. A defense that shuts down Aaron Rodgers when he is having a great year even by his standards and gets you to 9 wins (okay, would have been 8 if Brady played the last game) with a horribly anemic offense led by a QB that was ready to retire before the year even ended is a great defense. The Oakland game is really the only bad game I can think of from that season.
Not only do the injuries concern me but tbh even in the few games he played last year before the injury his performance seemed to slip a little. Would only be a fan if:
1. We pay him literally not a penny more than we would pay a 2nd stringer
2. We are still willing to either groom TT or draft another young QB for the future.
My have things changed. When was the last time we saw Oakland as one of the tougher teams on our schedule?
I honestly think we can beat the Raiders. They have improved but I'm still not sold on them defensively.
Yes they can, but in the end the team that benefited from the officials' negated play is going to be remembered as the better team.
Perfect example is the Steelers and their superbowl win over the Seahawks years ago. The officiating clearly benefited Pittsburgh and if the game was called fair Seattle probably wins. Yet all anyone remembers is how great the Steelers are for winning 6 superbowls.
I've come to accept the fact that part of becoming a good team means being able to overcome poor officiating that goes against you.
How exactly? If a team loses 4 games due to poor officiating would you consider them good?
14 of those points set up by Wentz INTs right off the bat.
Also, Schwartz's defense gift-wrapped a shot at a game-winning TD for Wentz at the end and he blew it.
The two Pats losses and the Cowboys loss were all heartbreaking. But the loss to the Browns, while it sucked, wasn't so much heartbreaking to me as it was disappointing. We gave up 29 points to a team led by Brady Quinn. We didn't deserve to win that one.
