Geesh, tough week for HOF athletes. RIP

Can Tasker still make the HOF?
Talley56 replied to Braedenstearns's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
I've said this many times before and I'll say it again because it is worth repeating, if Ray Guy got in Steve Tasker absolutely needs to get in. -
I have been seeing spots of crab grass in my yard pretty much since the Fall. I fertilized in the Fall but are there any lawn experts out there who can recommend any particular Spring fertilizer that will prevent crab grass next year?

So who is everyone rooting for tomorrow?
Talley56 replied to Steptide's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Packers/Titans, underrated SuperBowl that I think can be really good. But I don’t see GB being able to stick with SF. -
If it doesn’t work out with him the Bills should check with Gilmore to see if he wants to coach.

Early 2020 Schedule Tidbits & Thoughts
Talley56 replied to corta765's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
At the razor thin chance that the Niners don't win the Superbowl (in which case they would host the Thursday night opener against Seattle or GB) I could see the Sunday night opener being Buffalo @ San Fran. Back in the 90s this was a Super Bowl dream for many (esp Chris Berman) and it just missed happening so many times. I think the NFL really likes this matchup when the two teams are doing well. -
This week in Bills should'ves: Drafted Lamar Jackson Traded for Kirk Cousins Drafted Pat Mahomes Drafted DeShaun Watson Traded for Jimmy Garoppolo Drafted Russell Wilson Paid off the refs

Can't say that I have a rooting interest but, much like the presidential election, I voted just to say I voted and picked the Chiefs. And while I think the Chiefs will win I honestly think the Texans stand a better chance than many are probably giving them. Heck, they already went to KC and beat the Chiefs earlier (granted, I believe the Chiefs were missing Sammy and a couple of other key players).

Cleveland interviewing Jim Schwartz for HC
Talley56 replied to YoloinOhio's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
This would be a great hire. The naysayers always want to point out Schwartz's final record in Detroit but 2 things to think about: 1. He took over a team that had just gone 0-16. I can't imagine too many good or even great coaches winning much with an 0-16 team at least in the first year or two. 2. Bill Belichick's overall record with Cleveland was not a whole lot better. When the Eagles lost Wentz a couple of years ago I really believe the defense under Schwartz was a big reason they were still able to win the superbowl. And of course we all know how great the defense was when he was here. Seems like it would be a perfect fit for Cleveland. -
Disappointing but I am also happy with how the Bills did this year. I’ve seen a lot of nay-sayers talk about us being happy with “participation trophies”. The Bengals earned participation trophies. The Bills did more than that. They won 10 games for the first time in 20 years and made the playoffs which has been rare of course in the 2000s. I certainly hope this is a building block to better years to come but given what the Bills have been through since the turn of the century I’d say a 10-6 season with a close playoff loss to a pretty good team is a successful season.

NFC Playoff Games: Seattle at Philly, 4:20 EST
Talley56 replied to Hapless Bills Fan's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Yeah, I was wondering that too. Doesn’t see me to be talked about. Yet there seems to be a big thing about Rudolph getting away with offensive PI on the winning TD catch in the Minnesota game and I would say that was a good no-call. -

Well, I don't know about the rest of you, but I went 0-4 with my picks this weekend. -

Coming into this postseason I picked the Niners to go to the Super Bowl out of the NFC. Now, I would be absolutely amazed if it’s anyone but the Niners. -

Hmm, may we have a Vikings/Titans Super Bowl on the horizon? -
AFC South owned the AFC East today

So now what team are you rooting for?
