  1. It's bitter sweet seeing his turn-around. I wish he would have done it while he was still with us because I always did like him as a player even when he was with us. But I also know we gave him numerous chances and when a guy gets suspended for a year he's really worn out his welcome. But we could use a guy like him.
  2. Not sure why Holmgren is not on this list but he's the one I'd pick. Built two championship calibur teams basically from scratch. Shannahan, while impressive, at least had Elway to start with when he took over in Denver. My second choice might be Schottenheimer cause any head coach that can have success in Cleveland (which Belichick failed to do) has my vote of confidence.
  3. Sorry, but I seriously would have rather kept Jauron than go after either of these guys especially Weis. He has done terrible at Notre Dame. He hasn't been any better than Bob Davie nor Tyrone Willingham. What about Holmgren, have we given up on him already? It sounds like the Browns are going after him and I think if the Browns stand a chance to land him then we certainly do. Are we just reserved to the idea that Ralph would never go after someone as high profile as him?
  4. I just "spied" on a Patriots message board and they are complaining about the refs. While I agree that that catch probably was made at the first down line and therefore should have probably been a first down, it's amazing how quickly they forget the BS roughing the passer calls against the Ravens which helped them win that game.
  5. Not trying to beat a dead horse but anyone else think we should have accepted that holding penalty late in the game when the Titans kicked the field goal? I know we were giving up big chunks of yards on those screen plays on 3rd and long but that late in the game when it is still a one possession ball game I think it's smarter to take the chance, knock them out of field goal range, and try to force the punt on the next play instead of setting a good kicker up to make it a two-possession game. If they convert on the 3rd downl, again, they make it a two-possession ball game either way. At least we would have had a chance to force the punt and get the ball back with the game still at one possession. Maybe then we could have moved the ball without having to force it and throw those two late pick sixes.
  6. Unfortunately, we don't have luxury of playing in a sorry division where no one finishes better than 8-8
  7. Good teams make plays in close games. If you keep games close but don't make the one or two plays to win, you're not good, but if you do make that play, you are good. That's just the way the NFL is. The Redskins are a few plays from 6-0, the Titans are a few plays from 3-3 and last year's Steelers were a few plays from 8-8.
  8. Reading this brought back painful memories of the monday night meltdown against Dallas. 6 picks against Romo and we still couldn't win. I could see the same thing happening against Delhomme next week.
  9. I was confused about this one as well. It didn't look like the ball changed trajectory when it bounced up either suggesting it didn't touch anything. I couldn't really hear what they were saying on TV. Anyone else see the ball touch him?
  10. First of all, Evans was clearly bobbling the ball and stepped out before maintaining possession. The replay provided clear evidence of this and the refs made the right call to overturn it and rule it incomplete. Not sure how you can debate this and even the Bills fans at the bar I was watching with all agreed that he was clearly bobbling the ball while still inbounds and didn't maintain possession until out of bounds. Secondly, we shouldn't be complaining about officiating. I'm not trying to discredit our win but in looking at it objectively, the Jets were called for some really ticky-tack holding-illegal contact penalties. And a few plays before we scored our TD we had thrown a pic which was called back for illegal contact. After looking at the replay I must say I did not see any contact at all.
  11. While we've been bashing Edwards for checking down all the time (captain checkdown) I just think we are going to see the opposite problem with Fitzpatrick. He's going to force the ball down the field leading to picks and we are going to be saying "Fitzpatrick needs to stop forcing the ball down the field and start looking for the checkdowns".
  12. I'll take anyone who can lead Seattle to the superbowl
  13. I have lived all my life in Maryland but long before the Ravens came to town (and long after the Colts left for Indianapolis) I was a kid rooting for the Bills, coughing up blood after Norwood missed the field goal (true story). If I jumped ship and rooted for the currently more successful Ravens or someone like that I'd be a bandwagoner. I am friends with a Patriots fan (he's a true life-long fan from New England, not a Brady bandwagoner.) He reminds me all the time about the crappy teams he had to endure for decades before they finally got a dynasty. Not saying we'll ever have a team like the Patriots have had during the Brady/Belicheck era but as hard as it is I plan on sticking with Buffalo til I die or they relocate (even though I'm not from Buffalo, it just wouldn't be the same if they moved to another city.) BTW, whether you are from Buffalo or not you ALWAYS have a choice.
