Chris Carter vs. Andre Reed
Talley56 replied to Logical Reasoning's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
A friend of mine (a Bears fan) told me that the fact that Kelly is in the HOF is a travesty since he benefited from the no-huddle offense. Unfortunately, a lot of people see it the same way and make the same argument against Reed getting in. While I think that is the dumbest reason to keep someone out (especially to say it's a "travesty") in the grand scheme of things both Monk and Carter were probably better. However, I don't think it would be ridiculous if Reed got in over Carter though both should get in at some point in spite of the offenses they were in. -
That's what I would have thought, but I checked some other places like stubhub and buffalobills.com but I didn't see good prices for individual tickets to that game. That may be the problem though, since I'm just looking for an individual ticket as opposed to a group of 2 or more.

Keep in mind though, they had Parcells, we don't. Gotta admit, the man's a genius at turning teams around.

Thank you all for the information. I didn't realize they supported TBD, that's awesome.

Has anyone ever been to this site or do you know anything about it? I have seen some good ticket prices for the Jacksonville @ Buffalo game that I didn't find anywhere else almost to the point to where they could be too good to be true. I just want to make sure they are a legit site before I buy anything from them. I'm not an experienced online shopper so I'm not as familiar with the warning signs of fraud. Thanks for any info you can provide.

I enjoy reading optomistic posts. I honestly believe that the doom and gloom predictions that many people have for us (such as we finish 1-15 or 3-13) are more far-fetched than the loftier 11-5/12-4 picks. I don't think we are in as bad of shape as other people think we are. That said, I don't know that we'll finish 12-4 but I would love to see it. I'm going to go ahead and pick 9-7 just barely out of the playoffs. Perhaps in 2011 we'll finally get over the hump (assuming there's a season in 2011).

What Bills Victory did you Least Enjoy?

A lot of people seem to have forgotten that game but I sure haven't and I'm glad to see that someone else remembered it. I always wondered the same thing, who calls PI on a hailmary. If we win that game, then we would have finished at 11-5 putting our playoff game against the Dolphins in Buffalo instead of Miami. -

T.O. is the only player in NFL History

Wow, really? I seem to remember the Cleveland game last year when no one else seemed to care whether we won or not and he was out there trying to rally the troops. -

It was a few years ago againts the Jets. They had just beaten the Patriots and were in a position to potentially surprise New England and win the division. As sick of the Patriots as I was at the time I really wanted to see them lose the division whether it be to us, the Jets, or even the Fins. We then went into New York and whooped the Jets. I enjoyed the win because we still had slim playoff hopes and it's not like I rooted against us but it kind of stunk knowing that the Jets' chances to catch the Patriots had been all but ruined. -
Can we please go back to the Bills being like this?

I don't know what was sweeter, the blowout win over the Raiders or outgunning Marino and the Dolphins the week before -
Top Ten Teams that Deserve a Super Bowl win

I would add we just had to suffer through a decade of watching a team in our division dominate football with 3 championships and a perfect regular season. -
If we beat the Titans, do we win the Superbowl in 2000?
Talley56 replied to Skoobydum's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Given the fact that the Titans were 13-3 that regular season, a record, which in many other years, would have won them home field advantage (they were only a wild card team because Jacksonville was 14-2) I think we would have stood a very good chance to knock off Indy and Jax to get to the superbowl. I feel that, because of the Titans record, they were a wild card team on the same level as a first round bye team so if we could have gotten past them who knows what could have happened. However, winning three straight road games against that calibur of competition then beating St Louis in the superbowl I think would have required better stability at the QB position. As much as I like Flutie I don't even think keeping him in would have done it. But like many have mentioned on this thread, I have also spent numerous moments in the last 10 years wondering what could have been. -

Which quarterback are you pulling for ultimately

No love for Fitz huh? I'm going with Edwards. I still wonder if he hasn't just simply been held back by a dull offense and a bad line. -
Most important game of the 2010 season......
Talley56 replied to BillsFanInLV's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
My only problem with your logic is why you don't think beating the Jets nor Pats would be realistic but beating the Ravens would be? I know the Ravens will be coming off of a physical game but we will be playing the Pats right after they play the Jets in what should be a physical game for them and we'll be playing the Jets at home. -
What's the coolest "Bills thing" you ever did?
Talley56 replied to EastRochBillsfan's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Week 2 of the 2006 season, Buffalo @ Miami. A lot of people thought the Dolphins were due for a big year and no one thought we would be any good. This was before I found out about the Bills Backers so I was in a sports bar as basically the lone Buffalo fan with Dolphins fans around me (there was a woman there rooting for the Bills but she wasn't really paying attention). Hardly anyone gave us a chance to win but in the end we basically dominated the game (almost shut the fins out). The Dolphins fans didn't say anything to me but it was still pretty awesome. -
Billick really only had like one or two lousy seasons there. Every other year the Ravens were in the playoffs or in the hunt. As for the great players he was "lucky" to have, how did they do before he got there?
-
Yes, forgot about Marty. I would have loved to have had him as coach. Postseason record aside, a guy who can make the Browns a competitive team on a regular basis obviously knows what he's doing. Granted that was over 20 years ago but his stints with KC and San Diego prove he never lost it.

Honestly, I'm still not thrilled about Chan. If the rumors were true that Billick was interested in the job I still wish we would have gone after him over Gailey. I think too many people got too exceited over Chan's offensive mindset that they forget that there are guys out there who have great offensive minds but make lousy head coaches (Mike Martz). Whereas Brian Billick has proven himself as a head coach. However, I am willing to let all that go for now and give him a chance. In the end, a guy like Chan who wants to be here is probably a better option than Cowher who clearly did not want to come here and probably doesn't really want to get back into coaching anyone period. So if Chan can do the job I'll gladly eat my words.

What makes them a college football town is the Florida/Georgia rivalry. There are a lot of fans for both in Jacksonville (maybe even more Bulldog fans than Gator fans). So the fact that he didn't know a Big Ten guy doesn't surprise me too much. Had Poz played in the SEC I'm sure a lot more people would have recognized the jersey.

Worst NFL stadium issue you have had, anywhere
Talley56 replied to Skoobydum's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Anytime I go to an O's game to watch them suck as usual (and we think the Bills are hopeless) Actually, the biggest issue was one time at opening day of an O's game we accidentally sat in the wrong seats. Unfortunately, opening day is the one game of the whole season where Camden Yards is actually packed so it was really embarrassing when the usher yelled at us to get out of the seats in front of so many people who of course proceeded to laugh at us. Edit: I missed the part in the subject that said "NFL" stadium when I typed this. Oh well
