Now can we all agree that Fitz is not the guy.
Talley56 replied to Austin_Bills_Fan's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Manning, Brady, heck even Elway in their prime would have had bad games getting hit and battered around as much as Fitz did yesterday. The coaching staff dropped the ball in this game as they should have put Brohm in in the 4th quarter when the game was out of reach to a.) see what he can do and b.) avoid the risk of Fitz getting killed. -
The non-challange by Gailey?
Talley56 replied to BuffaloBillsForever's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
There were a number of bad calls against us today. Another one that comes to mind is when we were called for a personal foul after blocking their punter. The block was clean and it was long enough after the actual punt that he became a defender and therefore it should not have been called for roughing the kicker. I'm not sure why they thought that was a penalty. -
You chose your grandson over the Bills? Where's the loyalty?
-
It looked like he took a solid hit after making a catch down the sideline today and that was when we were already out of the game.

We keep talking about drafting Luck but I'd rather go after another Stanford guy in Harbaugh if he decides to leave and try for a job in the NFL. I know a lot of people like Gailey and he hasn't even had a full year yet but I ask, what has he done? The improvement in our offense in my opinion is more of a credit to Fitzpatrick than Gailey (remember, our offense looked good last year when Fitz was at QB as well). I've heard people compliment his "half time adjustments" but I'm just not seeing them. And our defense is suffering because we have a head coach who only knows offense. As for Harbaugh, he can keep us consistent on both offense and defense. His brother has done a great job in Baltimore. I am confident he can make a positive transition to the NFL and he can help Fitz with his accuracy issues. I'm sure I will get a lot of disagreements on this and I know Gailey hasn't had much time but I'm telling you, we would not miss much if we dumped Gailey whereas we could be missing out on a potentially great chance with Harbaugh.

Here's an article discussing it: http://www.businessinsider.com/two-la-groups-approached-vikings-about-relocation-2010-12

I don't know, I'd be pretty irritated if I saw Fitz or other players laughing on the sideline as we are getting our rear ends handed to us. And there was no good reason for Derek to blow up at that guy asking questions like he did. They are missing Kurt Warner more and more each game.

should Ray Guy not even be a semifinalist for the Hall of Fame until Steve Tasker gets in? If we are putting special teamers into the Hall then Tasker should get in easily ahead of a punter. I get that Guy's career began and ended before Tasker's but still...

I've seen the head-to-chest hits called for penalties. Basically, any hit where the head is leaning forward instead of off to the side allowing for the shoulder to his first gets called. It's ridiculous and he does have the right to be upset but it is consistent with everything else that's been called this year.

I think there should be a more middle of the road option such as we haven't turned the corner yet but we are not the same team we were in week 4 when the Jets humiliated us and I don't see us regressing back to that team. I don't think we can get to any point this season to where we can say we've turned any corner. There needs to be a full season where we can prove we are at least a playoff contender and not just a team that came on strong after they already played themselves out of any playoff hopes. But I like the direction we are going in.

I'm impressed that we haven't had a whole bunch of people replying to this thread reminding us that we could have had Vick and that we should have made more of an effort to get him.

I couldn't agree more, especially when it comes to the Pats these days. For the past 7 or 8 years any time the Pats have lost I've just felt really good the whole day.

The Bills W-L for the rest of the season
Talley56 replied to BuffaloBill's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
4-12 or 6-10 sounds reasonable. I think we beat the Vikings and between the Dolphins and Browns we beat at least one of the two of them, maybe both. As for The Steelers, Pats, and Jets, I don't see us winning those games but I think we stand a good chance at pulling an upset in any of the three. -
So glad they didn't blow the whistle on the Drayton Florence scoop score. I think everyone at the bar I was at would have lost their mind.

Nice points. I completely agree with most of them. To add a couple: - To go along with the Fitz discussion, give him time and he is one of the best passers in the league. Seriously, his bad throws today were when he was either under pressure or rushed the pass. If he'd just take his time and set his feet on top of our line giving him time he can hit any of our receivers. - While I understand we have other needs, let's not ignore the running back position. Freddy takes a lot of shots and at his age that could spell trouble. If he gets hurt or starts to slow down, who do we turn to as far as a run it up the gut/keep the drive alive threat (especially since Spiller is not a between the tackles runner).

Giving up on games when you are out of the playoffs is actually disrespectful to the rest of the league. For instance, we played our butts off against the Ravens. Would it be right to them if we went just played like we didn't give a crap against the Steelers? Say what you want about "who cares about the Ravens" but it really would be a slap in the face to them. It's one thing when it's the last game or two of the year but almost an entire half of the season?

Now this is bad stadium behavior, not in Buffalo
Talley56 replied to plenzmd1's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Oops, that's right, it was just the husband who got attacked. It was still classless, but that does make a difference. -
I really believe we can win a few more games, look pretty solid down the stretch, and still get the #2 pick. San Fran, Dallas, Detroit will get some more wins in my opinion (in fact Dallas plays Detroit this weekend). I'm thinking Carolina gets the first pick even if we just throw the rest of the season (and if we are thinking QB I really believe that Carolina will be looking for an O-line). Looking at the rest of their schedule, I see them only winning one, maybe two more games against the likes of Arizona/Seattle: vs Baltimore @ Cleveland @ Seattle vs Atlanta vs Arizona @ Pittsburgh @ Atlanta

Unfortunately, I heard a story from a few years ago about a Pats fan and his pregnant wife being attacked by Bills fans after a game. I was ashamed to be a Bills fan that day as attacking a pregnant woman is almost as bad as going after a child. In this instance if I were the father I would have probably done the same thing. Staying around and fighting the guy or even simply calling police is only asking for more trouble. -
I thought Shanahan was a genious?
Talley56 replied to Mike in Syracuse's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Wrong questions, it's how many superbowls did either win without Terrell Davis? As for Shannahan, it's amazing how we want to give Gailey some time as this is his first year fixing a team that's in a mess but Shannahan makes one questionable move in his first year trying to fix a mess and "oh, I didn't want him anyway". I'm sorry, but it is very deslusional to believe we are better off with Gailey than we would have been with Shanny. -
Lindell needs to be accountable
Talley56 replied to Logical Reasoning's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
At least Lindell isn't making excuses: Steelers' Reed says bad turf contributed to missed field goal -
It's actually Carolina and Dallas and I think Dallas will get a couple more wins this year.

Bills vs Lions prediction thread
Talley56 replied to buffalo_bills's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
I am picking us to win tomorrow but I don't think it's our last chance to win. Despite almost coming back to beat the Steelers on Monday night, the Bengals are playing pretty poorly right now. -
Joey Harrington, Ryan Leaf, David Carr, Jamarcus Russell. Not saying we shouldn't go after Luck, and I get that there are also Peyton Mannings, Phillip Rivers, and Matt Ryans out there, I'm just saying be careful what you wish for especially when we currently have a QB doing very well and other glaring needs that we could draft for.

Aaron Schobel was my favorite player basically ever since the Superbowl era. He always did his job and deserved at least one season to play for a team that went to the playoffs yet he stuck with us, never complained, and always played well. He is and will continue to be missed badly. As for current roster, I don't know that I have a favorite, but I'm on board with the other replies I've seen so far (Fitz, Steve Johnson, Fred Jackson, Corey McIntire, Kyle Williams, etc.) Perhaps Fitz would be the front runner since he has sparked the offense and even with tough loss after tough loss he still plays with a lot of passion every week.
