- The Redskins were banged up - Fitz fumbled and threw a pic in the endzone - We got lucky that Donte Stallworth tripped on that Byrd interception Those are just a few but I'm sure they will come up with others.

Quick Impressions of this game...

I absolutely agree about Jackson especially if we make the playoffs. Unfortunately, since he's not the media darling that Brady and Rodgers are he doesn't stand much of a chance unless those two just completely choke in the second half of the season. And of course if you even suggest Jackson to most people who aren't Bills' fans they'd think you're nuts. -

The Carson Palmer Debacle Begins
Talley56 replied to BuffaloBillsForever's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Actually, it's not that hard. He had his chances to play for the Bengals this year and refused. The team wasn't good last year but quite frankly he was a large part of the problem. There were quite a few games where the defense kept them in it but Palmer couldn't get the offense going or he gave up crucial turnovers. That said, I am going to wait until he has had time to work with the offense and has McFadden back at full strength to judge his performance in Oakland. -
I haven't seen all of the Giants' home games but I don't recall them getting any beneficial calls against us last week. Seemed like it was called fair unlike the Bengals game.

Who is in play if the Rams end up with the #1 pick?

Don't see why the Rams wouldn't just take Luck themselves. Bradford has been good but I'd take Luck over him any day. -

Well played -
Couldn't agree more, no way do the Bills stand any chance at going 8-0 at home. But I think there's a very good chance they can go 7-0 at home and 1-0 in Toronto

Is there any doubt we need a FRANCHISE QB ?

Aside from 1 pic I don't recall Fitz playing that poorly against the Eagles. As for today's game, I had to listen to the game on radio so I didn't get to see all of his passes but I've gotten to see some of it. It looked like the first int was a bad pass but the second one just looked like a nice defensive play by Webster. Also, after having only been sacked 4 times in the first 5 games he was sacked 3 times today, twice in a row at one point. That can rattle a guy. For now, I believe in Fitz as a guy who can get us to the playoffs this year and maybe even in the distant future. -
This scares me. I remember a few years back we played the Arizona Cardinals right after the Jets tore them apart and the Cards then proceeded to whoop us. Teams tend to play better after bad losses like that.

Wow some people just won't ever be happy. Compared to other defenses in this league and given the rules that basically cater to offenses our D is not that bad. Yes we still have a long way to go but it's been fine so far. We picked Brady 4 times. Bad defenses don't pick Brady 4 times. And I believe we have forced 15 turnovers in the first 5 games so far. Yes, we do give up a lot of yards and that is frustrating but it is definitely better than last year. We could choke throughout the rest of the season and miss out on the playoffs but for crying out loud we are 4-1. Most fans of teams that haven't been good in a while wouldn't be on here complaining about the defense like this over a 4-1 start. Enjoy the success we've had so far. And before 2008 is brought up, I think we have beaten some higher quality teams so far this year than the 08 team did.

Man, everybody is picking the Eagles this week!!
Talley56 replied to TC in St. Louis's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
I just hope we don't see a repeat of 2003 (Eagles at 0-2 go to 2-1 Buffalo, win, and go on to a 12-4 record from there while the Bills fall to 6-10). While I think we have earned a little more credit they are giving us (picking a 1-3 team to beat us), it is so much nicer to be in the underdog roll and prove people wrong. -
Another number that scares me is 2003. The Bills began the year looking good at 2-1 (one of those wins even came against the Patriots). The Eagles struggled to begin 2003 at 0-2. The Eagles then traveled to Buffalo and beat the Bills. That seemed to be the turning point for both teams as the Bills flopped the rest of the year and the Eagles went 12-4 and made it to the championship game. Here's to hoping history does not repeat itself.

That play was a little different in that Fitz couldn't find anyone open underneath so he just had to take a shot. But the deep balls on third and short in the first half were frustrating.

Dear NFL ..........................................
Talley56 replied to SUNTANBILLSFAN's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Let's just put it this way, I am still hearing people complain that Shawn Nelson should have been ruled down before he fumbled the ball in OT against the Ravens last year. IMO, the non-catch call was much worse. You can sooner make an argument that Nelson's progress hadn't been stopped than you can that Steve Johnson dropped the ball. But oh well, moving on to the Eagles. So Vick is going to do what he apparently wanted to do two years ago and that's play in Buffalo huh? -

For one thing, that Steve Johnson "incompletion" was not the only bad call of the game. Our d-line was getting mugged all game long and not once was a holding penalty called (this was clear as day). There were some other blatantly calls but I won't get into them. I understand that we don't want to sound like cry babies and sore losers by pointing to bad calls as the reason for losing games. But the officiating was very poor and that can't be ignored. All I'll say is I just hope people remember this if we get a win later in the year in which we benefit from poor officiating. And of course, I know the refs weren't the ones who couldn't cover AJ Green and missed wide open receivers. -

Lions? Ravens? We just beat the Pats, why on earth are they still ahead of us? Nevertheless, great to see us up so high. -
Ha, love the comment about donating his beard to Tony for him to put it on his head.

Really? The New England win goes for naught if we lose? I think that's a little melodramatic. Quite frankly I would much rather beat a division rival and lose to a bad team than vise versa especially when you have lost to that team 15 straight games. There's something to be said about finally beating a team you keep losing to (look at Navy, went decades without beating Notre Dame and now that they finally beat them they're on a bit of a roll against them). But I do agree that we can't keep playing from behind. Especially this week against a team we should be able to handle. It would be nice to see Johnny White get some late game carries.

Couldn't disagree more. We got some breaks but so did the Pats. Byrd getting called for an unnecessary roughness was one of the most ridiculous calls of the game. Welker took about two steps before getting hit. And on the Pat's third TD drive Brady should have been called for an intentional grounding at one point for throwing the ball nowhere near anyone and they missed a blatant holding call on a third down conversion for the Pats on that same drive.

Yeah, for all the heat our o-line takes I'm glad to see someone make a block like that whether the guy was going to get to Fitz or not.
