  1. We had two kinds of chili (chicken and beef), various chips, dips, and small deserts. I like the simple stuff when it comes to Super Bowl food.
  2. Guess I'll go against the grain and say the Niners. I don't know, they just seem to have a it all together and now that they have Crabtree healthy their offense might be better. Plus they've been bullied around in Seattle too many times in recent years to let it happen again and Seattle's offense has sputtered at times lately (see week 16 vs AZ). I'm thinking it will be 49ers vs Patriots (even though I don't want this matchup)
  3. I think there are enough teams like Cleveland and Minnesota who just never seem to get it done that we'll always have company. I'm also rooting for the Seahawks, or Panthers, to win it all.
  4. We've gotten the high draft picks. We've grabbed the talent. Time for that talent to start winning big games and building confidence. Nothing would make me happier than to end the season beating NE and sending them from being a bye team to having to play the next week in a wildcard game.
  5. I would like to see us win some games here at the end of the year in hopes that it gives our young guys confidence going into next year.
  6. QB ratings, record, losing to Jacksonville, etc. I still say he was our best QB since Bledsoe (though I know that's not saying much). Or, who was exposed and therefore more beatable now.
  7. I'd like to point out the performance of another young QB today if this makes anyone feel any better: Andrew Luck. He looked terrible today throwing 3 picks at home against a modest Rams defense as his team got humiliated (though i have not seen those picks to be able to tell if they were all his fault). Just shows that even good young QBs are going to have bad games. This is EJ's first game back from injury and only his 6th NFL start. Let's give him a few more games at least.
  8. When it comes to disappointing, I would say the 6-3 loss to Cleveland in 2009. It just seemed like none of our players cared to win that game. Almost as if they just wanted to get it over with and go home.
  9. Not sure if anyone saw this, or even cares, but his prediction is all the way at the bottom: http://www.nfl.com/news/story/0ap2000000274267/article/nfl-midseason-predictions-crowded-race-for-last-afc-wild-card
  10. For as much as people are criticizing the Chiefs for a soft schedule, last year the Colts also went from 2-14 to the playoffs. However, when you look back at their schedule from last year, they also beat a lot of soft competition (sans maybe the win over Green Bay). Yet all I remember hearing was what a great turn around they made.
  11. Fitz was a sold QB and, had it not been for the money situation, would have been worth keeping as a backup. There is no way to definitively say that the homerun throwback play was a forward lateral.
  12. I recall week 2, 2006, Buffalo @ Miami. The Dolphins were heavy favorites to be playoff contenders that year while the Bills were expected to do nothing. Everyone was picking the Dolphins and yet the Bills win 16-6. This game could easily go the same way.
  13. It might rival FSU's 63-0 massacre of UMD
  14. Kiko Alonso doesn't play for the Bills, the Bills play for Kiko Alonso
  15. I wasn't downplaying the importance of a defensive/special teams TD. I was just saying that their offense hasn't played well and it had to be helped out last week by their defense and special teams. They could score defensive/special teams TDs against us but if they don't, I think we could force their offense to struggle even though we are thin at DB.
  16. The Ravens offense has not looked that good ever since the first half of the Denver game. It took a defensive and special teams touchdown to pull away against the Texans. I could see us winning a low-scoring game. Bills 13-10
  17. If you look at the past 3-4 years they've actually played better against us for the most part than the Patriots have.
  18. After the way TB's defense gave the Saints' offense problems last week, it wouldn't surprise me at all to see TB go in and beat NE. Even with NE coming in off a longer rest.
  19. I was close, does that count? I followed the same chart path until I got to the crying for no reason part. I said no and landed on the Chargers.
  20. I have to respectfully disagree, if anyone deserves criticism IMO it is certainly NOT the defense. The only TD drives the Pats had were off turnovers. Yeah, they gave up drives at the end of the game but when the offense gives up a quick three and out even a good defense can only stop a brady-run offense for so long.
  21. Maybe TOP, long drives that keep Brady off the field. Though if we run the hurry up this may not be possible.
  22. Football's image as a sport is in way too much trouble with concussion issues as it is to even think about making players play more games each season, whether it would be adding regular season or playoff games. I'm okay with less preseason games, but not with more regular season games to replace them.
  23. New England Patriots L 38-20 Carolina Panthers L 24-20 at New York Jets L 17-13 As bad as the Jets might be we've been struggling against them lately Baltimore Ravens W 20-10 I really think the Ravens lost more than people realize. Not exaggerating when I say they could finish in the area of 3-13 at Cleveland Browns W 19-10 Cincinnati Bengals W 17-16 We always do well against these guys even when they are better than us (see 2005 meeting), and I'm not big on Andy Dalton at Miami Dolphins L 21-7 at New Orleans Saints L 40-21 Kansas City Chiefs W 27-13 Another team we usually do well against at Pittsburgh Steelers L 20-3 New York Jets W 24-7 While we do struggle against the Jets, I think we'll take them at home Atlanta Falcons L 27-24 We don't usually play well in Toronto, but this might be about the time we start to look more competitive against good competition at Tampa Bay Buccaneers L 20-19 A painfully familiar score in a familiar setting at Jacksonville Jaguars W 20-17 Miami Dolphins W 31-10 at New England Patriots L 35-24 7-9 finish aided by a soft schedule but showing hope near the end of the season for the future.
  24. I guess I'm in the minority in that I feel that the Ravens were screwed far more than the Broncos in that they don't get to host the opener after winning the superbowl. They could have played the game on Wednesday to avoid conflicting with the O's. I can't imagine anyone would have been offended. As far as the Broncos go, they got to take the home opener over a team who beat them on the way to a championship. They can deal with the banner.
